      Billy and Robin appeared on Leno in 1998 to plug "Father's Day." If you watch the entire interview closely (part of it is in this clip from about 8:30 - 13:30 and the entire thing is elsewhere here on YT) you can see the moment Leno decides, "screw it, it's their show now" and gave up on trying to do any semblance of an interview And they went for at least another 15-20 minutes after that.

    My personal favorite line from Robin was when he was on the Actor's studio and he's being asked: "If heaven exists, what would you like to hear when you reach the pearly gates?" and his answer was: "Two jews walk into a bar..." To this day I believe that Robin Williams was the greatest comedian of all time who not only made more people laugh than anyone else in history, he made us look at ourselves and realize what's really important in this life: Each other. I think he, more than any celebrity ever, will be missed. The first time I saw Robin and Billy together was very early footage from The Improv, in the early 80s, Robin was speaking trying to sound like an older black southern gent and Billy was doing the "sign language", hilarious!

      Therapy had nothing to do with it. Trying a little more therapy was not the answer to having LBD. He had over 40 indications of this disease that robbed him of his mind, his body and his spirit. He would not still be with us with a little more therapy. I would strongly suggest that you read the article that his wife wrote regarding his passing and his last days. It will enlighten you so that you won’t go around thinking and talking about how he needed more therapy and would still be with us. That’s a blatant falsehood. It’s unfortunate but it’s true.

      @Alexander Supertramp
      Very good point.
      And well said.
      Why anyone feels the need to whine about "remember when we used to have a sense of humor?"
      It's usually obnoxious Trump loving Republicans who want to roll back the political correctness clock.
      Sure, maybe some of the political correctness police are overdoing it in some places, but really?
      If you don't find this stuff funny?
      Just don't watch.
      And just stop whining about political correctness, Republicans.
      It's a really tired, really old song, and you wore out that record eons ago.
      Some aspects of political correctness are necessary, because, unfortunately, there are racists, white supremacists, misogynists and sexists, religious zealots, and homophobes out there, amongst others, who think that saying all kinds of vile shit is perfectly fine and covered by the first amendment.
      It's not, but people are entitled to their opinions.
      I'm entitled to not like your opinion, if I find it offensive.
      It's not about us not having a sense of humor anymore, because most of us do still have one.
      It's more about just not being an asshole to any of your fellow human beings.
      And whining about political correctness is tantamount to saying:
      "I used to be able to say whatever vile racist, sexist, homophobic, etc., shit I wanted to say, and could be an obnoxious asshole to everybody, and now I can't be."
      Waaah.
      Shut up.

      @toddvandell85 4 года назад +2

      @@marshawargo7238
      See my reply to Alexander Supertramp.
      But seriously?
      The whole sticks and stones defense doesn't exactly cut it when people start calling other people foul shit, using the "n" word or any other similar hate speech.
      You are entitled to *your opinion* under the first amendment.
      Calling someone a vile name isn't "your opinion".
      It's just hateful and wrong.
      Call 'em an asshole.
      Or an asshat.
      Or a jackhole.
      Whatever.
      "I think you're being an asshole" would be your opinion.
      That's protected speech.
      Otherwise?
      It's not.

      In the tribute he did with Whoopi, he said that they would routinely call each other on the phone and, as Billy put it, "we were on the phone for hours and never talked as ourselves." The Leno clip is one of those times when you are given a peek into that part of their friendship.
