Children of Men Official Trailer #1 - Julianne Moore, Clive Owen Movie (2006) HD
Children of Men Trailer - Directed by Alfonso CuarÓn and starring Clive Owen, Juan Gabriel Yacuzzi, Michael Caine, Mishal Husain, Rob Curling. In 2027, in a chaotic world in which humans can no longer procreate, a former activist agrees to help transport a miraculously pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea, where her child's birth may help scientists save the future of humankind.
Universal - 2006
The most underrated jaw dropping, spine tingling, emotionally touching film to ever exist. Even after 10 years of seeing this film over and over, it still gives me the chills. If you don't feel things while watching this, you just aren't human.
Guess I’m an alien
watching attack on titan brought me back here both brilliant works
Now going into year three of global extinction pandemic, this old movie I loved shows pretty much our world out in the city. We don't even want to go find food any more. Remember.....2-3-2022. We are still alive.
@@alalal123421 Allow me to ask. I've also been keeping up with the recent episodes of attack on titan and I see the connections you've made to this movie. Truth is, I've never seen it was just recommended to it from my film class is it worth the watch?
The motorcycle chase scene was one of a kind. The movie The Road (2009) had a similar feel.
I try not to throw this term around lightly but this director is a genius.
Alfonso Cuaron should make films more often
@@MexiUT nah he shouldn't...it takes time to make good movies and he knows that. That's why he doesn't make movies that often :)
One of the worst movies ever.
And then he did Roma
No he's not he just works for Hollywood and knows truths the public don't know and uses them in movies like alot of films this stuff is true and is in the making
Maybe my all time favorite movie. Clive Owen’s performance as the haggard, depressed, chain smoking, charming and self assured anti hero is so well played and relatable. I don’t think this movie would be what it was without him.
It would definitely be different, but the visual direction and story are just too good. Alfonso Cuarón doesn't do mediocre.
100% agree. The characters are flawless
A Decade and a half later, I still think about this Movie every now and then. It is definitely one of the very best Science Fiction Movies ever made for me.
Not fiction
"Science fiction"!?!... I would sadly say - everything happening in the world right now, leads us to this scenario.
Humans on the verge of extinction and still killing each other.
Why make the movie so realistic?
😂🤣

Stewart MacKinnon Good point, maybe a tie hahaha
No idea why this movie wasn't a box office success. Such a great movie in every way. I loved the gritty realistic action especially.
Marketing makes or breaks a movie. Look at how Edge Of Tomorrow was wonderfully crafted but little seen. And how Man Of Steel and Godzilla with their trailers deceived us into throwing money at them.
Linn Ryan Godzilla was a perfectly fine movie that delivered what it needed. The only reason people complain about it is because they want to. Man of Steel, however, is a huge piece of crap.
Andrew St. Clair I'm not sure about Godzilla. There was a severe lack of the main monster. The first half of the film was all build up, but it didn't build tension.
The second half was, admittedly, awesome. I still think that it could have been done much better though. Let's hope Godzilla 2 has more Godzilla in it.
Linn Ryan Godzilla was horrible. I stopped watching it half way through. The first time I have ever done that while watching a movie.
Amy-Lee Angel Sucks for you.
every year, this film feels eerily more and more prescient... it's unsettling and also yet more proof that this film was far before its time. A masterpiece.

The action scenes in this movie are just incredible. I have never been so invested in a war scene. Insane
Considering how sombre and downright depressing the film is, this trailer is all wrong.
Whoever chose this song and edited it so fast-paced shouldn't have been paid.
Thank you.
***** I was thinking the same thing! The trailer did not match the mood of the film at all.
I disagree. I believe this trailer nails it. The story is one of hope, and the quasi-biblical odyssey that Theo undergoes to come to terms with the idea that there is still hope, and then save humanity. Both these songs accomplish that IMO. It's a product of its time and that is why it is constructed this way. Honestly, this is one of my favourite trailers ever released, along with Logan's first trailer with a slightly edited rendition of Johnny Cash's (9" Nails') Hurt and the promo for 1979's Alien (successfully recreated in Prometheus' trailer, but that movie was so shallow and silly unfortunately.) When I was a kid, I remember how much this trailer, apart from the movie, inspired my imagination with the music and imagery. There is no doubt in my mind that the video shown is worthy of the movie.
Marilyn yeah I had to watch the trailer multiple times cos it was so distracting
This trailer was beautiful
This is one of the most underrate movies of all time. This movie is actually better than Gravity... Shame it didn't earn back it's money. The best film of the last decade 2000 to 2010.
Gravity wasn't a good film though, so what are you saying?
Mike B. that is Mike B opinion!
you need to watch more quality movie, then.
Agreed. Top five in the 2000 to 2010s, At least.
Gladiator is easily the greatest movie of the 2000 decade by far
This trailer does not do the movie justice
Ohloveeh I totally agree, it just completely miss-sells it
Shitty music, nah Sigor Ros is not shitty music, it's just not the right music to sell this film
Yeah i agree it is overused. It always reminds me of the David Attenborough documentary "Planet Earth" cos they always used that song for it's adverts. Not sure if it's the same for you, I assume your American so you prob wouldn't have seen the ads
+Ohloveeh Especially the background music at the end.. Nothing like it in the real movie.
+Ohloveeh Shouldnt have been any music, more haunting.
this movie isnt just a masterpiece...it is to be preserved for until the end of mankind. this is true storytelling. so honest and real.
will we be living this soon? take the V@xX !
This movie is just dumb unnecessary entertainment. Nobody needs it. Nobody needs entertainment.
"Preserved until "the end of mankind" For the AI's to have a few ROTHFFL moments 🤣at how idiotic the humans were.
Just finished this movie, and I'm honestly blown away. It seems more relevant then ever, it's eerie in how its themes apply so much better to our world nearly 20 years later from when it was made. What struck me most about the movie was the violence of it. It felt real, not in the sense that a normal thriller or action movie can immerse you, but real. Sometimes it just felt like I was watching someone actually get killed. There's nothing overly graphic about it, but it hits completely different. It was awful, more than almost any movie I've seen it made me feel repulsed by violence and cruelty. I think we need those slaps to the face from time to time, that after watchin 10.000 people die in 10.000 ways in movies year in and year out without ever flinching, we should get to feel genuinely terrified about the concept of people killing people.
But the movie also contrast this ugliest part of humanity, with the best parts of humanity. Deep friendships and sacrifices, strangers helping strangers, and above all, hope. And it does this sincerely, it never feels forced or cheesy, much like the violence, it feels very real. And it kept me watching the movie, and even feeling hopeful despite its bleakness.
The cinematography is beyond brilliant, and is probably the main reason why it manages to tell such a profound emotional story. Long takes with stunning shot compositions assist the plot and the acting masterfully. Even if someone wouldn't recognize the other great elements of the movie, the cinematography is inarguably nearly flawless.
Saying that this or that movie is underrated is so common that it's basically a meme at this point. But I think this is really one of those movies. As stated earlier, I think it's more relevant now than in 2006, regretfully, and will just continue to get more relevant moving forward. It has come of age, so to speak, and maybe more people will find and recognize it for the brilliant movie it is.
I like how they made her take off her whole shirt when all she needed to do was turn to the side..... #hollywoodlogic

I don't think Alfonso Curan will ever make a better movie than this. And no one bring up Gravity. Unfortunately that's the film he'll be remembered for, but this is his best.
lmao y tu mama tambien is amazing and very well known
Y Tu Mama También, A little Princess. But this is the Best, One of the top 10 films of this century.
Every film Cuaron has made is better than Gravity (apart from Great Expectations). Harry Potter 3 is a terrific film, and A Little Princess is an underrated gem in his filmography, but yes, Children of Men and Y Tu Mama Tambien should go down as his masterpieces - Y Tu Mama Tambien for defining him as a filmmaker, and Children of Men as one of the best, and most underappreciated films, of its decade!
And yet he won two or three Oscar's after your comment... and he probably he will win on other one with his amazing new movie "ROMA"

@@Robert-rl7rd I think the claim of xenophobia in this film is inaccurate, and I don't think that was the point P.D. James was trying to make, quite the opposite I believe. Luke killed Julian and tried to manipulate Kee into staying with the Fishes because he believed believe xenophobia would never allow Kee to reach the Human Project, but in the last moments of the movie there was a seize fire so Theo could safely get Kee out. The Fishes perception of xenophobia where there wasn't any nearly cost the last of humanity.

As much as Cuaron is a genius, and he is, there are the unsung heroes that are the cinematographers Emmanuel Lubezki and Gary Tarn who pulled off those huge uncut tracking shots that were always so effectively used for the really high stakes, dramatic parts, especially the battle scene at the end which is unparalleled in my opinion.
