- Lucky8 Off-Road takes the 2020 Proud Rhino Land Rover Defender 110, Proud Rhino modified L322 Range Rover and Proud Rhino modified Discovery 5 deep into the woods of Benton, Maine to tackle epic rutted mud, snow, and ice-covered off-road trails at the annual Maine Winter Romp off-road event. Along the way we run into old friends, have a laugh and capture some great winter wheeling.
About The Event:
Winter Romp is an informal gathering of Land Rover's started by Bruce Fowler over 30 years ago. What started as a handful of friends getting together over presidents day weekend has become one of the best and biggest East Coast gatherings of Land Rover Vehicles. Coming from as far south as Atlanta and as far west as Colorado, the event challenges drivers with some classic obstacles - The Ice Wall, Powerline Hil, the Pit of Dispair - and many new ones added every year.
About the Proud Rhino Defender 110:
The heavily modified 2020 Defender 110 has been customized to tackle just about anything the Maine countryside can throw at it. Proud Rhino modifications include:

Looking at doing something in TX in October
Liking the new vehicle more and more. 90 works better to my eyes than 110.
We love the 110, and its super capable, but we are very excited for more time in the 90.

Its always a bummer when the trucks go out of commission. What does yours need? We do ship to Maine but are located in buffalo, so it's definitely a bit of a hike to get out there. I'm not sure that our livers would survive more than one trip to Maine each year!

It did well but I thought Land Rover steering pumps were loud, that one was yellin'
