If only 90% of the tutorials in the internet were like that. You earned a like and a subscription and you didn't even had to ask like most RUclipsrs. Thanks a lot!
No matter how many times I do this in AE, I cannot retain this information, and I feel so lucky that everytime I gotta look this up AGAIN, this blessedly short video is there for me, like a dear friend
This is the best day of all the days I ever searched how to do something on youtube. Thank you, you are the God of tutorials. First, I laughed on your intro, and then found out how to make stationery mask so quick I couldn't even believe what's happening! Thanks mate!
Holy s***! I just found these videos. I've yellled "just tell me how to do it" in that same tone so, so many times, especially while watching some tutorial with a long idiotic intro and way too much f***ing chatter. This is awesome.
I feel like there's some things missing from this tutorial... I mean, where's the 5 minutes at the beginning where you say hello to everyone and waffle on about this very obvious issue that people might have, and WHY it might be an issue as if no one knows? And where, especially, are the crucially important 2 minutes following that, where you open the program, make a new composition, name the composition, and make every individual layer in sequential tedious order before you actually get to the actual subject of the video at around the 8 or 9 minute mark? My time isn't valuable at all, so I'm very disturbed when I find someone making a tutorial on a quick fix that isn't AT LEAST 14 minutes long. 1-star.
thank you so much for this quick, on point tutorial that skips unnecessarily long intros and blabbering about subs, commenting, likes, their whole life story, the names of their pet goldfishes and whatever not!
In AE 2022, creating the new solid, after copying the mask, just made a rectangle the same size as the composition. I ended up skipping that step and just placing an appropriate sized shape layer over the starting point of the layer I was revealing, then set that to use the alpha inverted block layer, which automatically hid the shape. Day two of AE for me, and I'm liking it so much more than Motion.
Thank you for the amazing tutorial, but what to do if you have 3 layers of solids, 2 of which are moving and one is stationary ? I want the stationary solid to have the effects of only one of the two moving solid, but when try that, the moving solid loses its effects.
After hours of pushing the limits of my AE and Premiere Pro knowledge I hit another "how the f--k do I do this?" moment right before the end. Came across this tutorial and not only was it helpful but your intro audio felt like it came out of my own mind and matched my level of frustration which caught me completely off guard and made me laugh for the first time all day. As many others over the years have said, THANK YOU. Clearly still useful info for those of us who are After Effects challenged...
hey, I know this video is old. But I just wanted to say thx, I have been looking literally for days for this one, a simple and easy tutorial. Thx again
Oh my god, someone on RUclips who actually shows you how to do something without five minutes of preamble and graphics and music and nonsense. Have a sub and a like!
Can you make tutorials on how to make tutorials and then force every tutorial maker on youtube to watch it???
for real though
+ 1,000
Please
Thanks for explaining how to do something in 47 seconds that other videos take 8+ minutes and still make no sense.
No joke. I had almost given up trying to learn how to do this when I stumbled upon this video and voila!
Finally, someone who doesn't talk about what they're gonna do, before doing it!
This is how every tutorial should be formatted
No BS fluff, nothing. This format is perfect. Thank you!
If only 90% of the tutorials in the internet were like that. You earned a like and a subscription and you didn't even had to ask like most RUclipsrs. Thanks a lot!
I just watched it 3 times cause I'm not used to tutorials being so fast! 😆
No matter how many times I do this in AE, I cannot retain this information, and I feel so lucky that everytime I gotta look this up AGAIN, this blessedly short video is there for me, like a dear friend
Same here xd
Because its not logical....Logical would be to have the object stay still if you put the keyframes for the mask.... But nope...

Almost ten years later and this tutorial is still relevant and well made.
Perfect marketing. The title says it all, and the pronunciation is exactly what I feel everytime I hit a real snag in a program. Gold star, A+.

This is the best day of all the days I ever searched how to do something on youtube. Thank you, you are the God of tutorials. First, I laughed on your intro, and then found out how to make stationery mask so quick I couldn't even believe what's happening! Thanks mate!

I think...i got overwhelmed at how short this is 😂 Thank you so much btw!! haha
Thank you, and brilliant channel name too.
Perfect name for a channel that does tutorials just the way I like them, you sir, got it figured out. *Slow hug
This is even better than that Nair tutorial
THANK YOU SO MUCH
There is merit to explaining the "what's happening and why" in each step, but holy fuck, your channel name couldn't be more on point. Great job!
For some reason when I copy and paste the mask path it doesnt paste it into the same position...there is no paste in place option like photoshop?
You can also Option+click and drag in mac?
Great! Thank you so much ;)
Damn man, Thanks a lot !
This is better than stack overflow.. I would buy you a beer or two for this. Thank you
