this is what i love about your channel it feels like watching a travel channel like show or the early days of befrs or im getting like wathcing a TV vibes. you guys also did your research not like other foreigners who just freestyle it. anyway keep it up guys really awesome vids
Umm.... I guess balut and dinuguan are not really strange here in PH 😂 😂 "Balut sa puti" (means that the chick is hardly formed, maybe 16 days old) and I would share the chick with a willing cat or dog nearby 😂 I ate dinuguan out of respect for the host. It was meaty-porky and slightly vinegary, quite nice. BUT the overall dark appearance of the dish would really mess up with my head. 🥲
if you do travel to the mountains to escape the heat, ie Baguio, definitely try the Igorot and Ilocano foods there...strangest food wise, you can try pinikpikan which is a chicken soup made with a chicken that is gently beaten with a stick and burned alive giving it a distinctive yet clean flavor, dinakdakan which is similar to sisig (but served cold or room temperature) mixed with aioli (or the original pork brains) giving it a creamy consistency, "bat and balls" which is basically "soup #5," etag or kinuday which is a way of preserving meat thru smoking (with a critter surprise in it in the case of etag lol), pinuneg which is a pork blood sausage unique to the region, pako salad (river fern), inihaw na liempo (crispy grilled pork belly) with a side of sawsawang dugo (pork blood dipping sauce). I think you can look up Erwan Heussaff's channel, Featr, as a guide/suggestions to foods of the mountains. thanks for all that you do!
Hi hungry two travel ....it's nice watching u enjoying our foods and beautiful places....wish i can visit my beautiful philippines someday....take care. god bless.
I love that you put a lot of research on your videos. People who are not familiar with the food can learn a lot from it. Please continue to give your honest to goodness reviews on Filipino food as you continue your journey in the country.
Thats what we really need, an HONEST review, because the world view of filipino food is largely NOT HONEST, most of it is hate filled, people that are fans of other places, making up lies about the food being "bad" thus killing people's want to even go to PH, and those that do are so conditioned from hearing how "bad" the food is, that psychologically makes them too think the same way as the pack that has deemed the PH food as "bad" even if they dont think that at all.
What an interesting video guys! You showcased unique foods we've never heard of before. The breakfast dish and sizzling sisig look incredibly delicious. We've never tried crickets before but the last dish you had was looking pretty good and we might give it a try in the future. Thank you so much for sharing these delicious videos with us. Keep up the great work ❤
Yeah they are really good. Honestly they are a sweet bean, so like a white kidney bean, but sweetened, more sweet than a red bean. If that makes sense?
Darn!, you guys are hardcore lol, I was born in Angeles City but haven’t eat adobo crickets as far as I can remember. But thanks for featuring our town, now my wife was longing to go back to A.C.
Haha the adobo crickets were honestly so good!! We really loved them, Angeles has some incredible food, hopefully you guys can visit sometime soon :) thanks so much for watching and commenting, Tio😊
I’d definitely try the cricket and frog dishes! I was really getting into the show and when you said thanks for watching at the end I felt sad that there wasn’t even more show to watch 🤣
Awe haha thanks Krista! So happy you enjoyed it so much, that means a lot🧡 the cricket and frog was so tasty, we would definitely eat those again. Bugs are highly underrated. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
What a courageous food tasting episode. And I'm glad you both had a good time at Pampanga. Maybe I should have suggested for you to try papaitan in my previous comment. It's goat bile soup. 😉 But cicadas and frogs are really interesting too. There's also a place where ant eggs are served, but I can't remember where right now nor the local name of the dish... anyhow... Cheers to more happy food adventures!
Thanks Cris we had a great time in Pampanga, the food really is so unique and interesting, we loved it! Those ant eggs sound really interesting! Definitely something we would try😉 thanks so much for watching and commenting 😊
I hope you don't get offended when she stroke your head.Mothers or grandma's especially in the province would do that to their children or grand children. It's a love gesture of that most mothers would do to their own children.
Hi chris and Steph the weirdest thing I ate was elephant in Africa. Nice video again. Greetings from the Netherlands. Keep up the good work I love you guys.
I really like both of you 😃 , and the food tour the frog is exotic frog in bisaya is " Palaka" or in tagalog it taste like meat but malansa . Take care always
What an interesting city! The people are amazingly friendly 😊! It's hard to imagine eating crickets and stuffed frogs! Incredible to watch you stuffing the frog, Steph😳! They actually looked very delicious 😋. Well done, guys🎉!
The frogs and cricket's were so flavourful! We really loved them both. I think you'd enjoy the frog, not what you'd think it would taste like😉 thanks for watching and commenting!! 🧡
Hello Steph & Chris, hope you are doing well. The last episode and this one I can' view it, sorry 😅. In Philippine there are famous and most beautifull eagles, also the eagle of Paname, the harpy eagle. Enjoy and greetings.
Tapsilog in Angeles City at P135 is a steal. The quantity was double compared to here in Quezon City where it's also along that price but the Tapsilog would only have one small fried egg, half of the beef you had, along with a small cup scoop of garlic rice. Not exactly value for money. You guys got a good deal out there in AC.
Guys, if you are still in Pampanga, don't miss out on Atching Lilian Borromeo, she is the guardian of Kapampangan cuisine. You will get a ton of knowledge.
Very similar to a lime, but not quite a sour, it's got a hint of lemon and orange with it almost, sooo good. You'd definitely love it on your homemade tacos!
Hey everyone?
What's the strangest food you've ever eaten?
Thanks for watching! 🧡😊

Thanks for the suggestion, Vivica! We're no longer in Pampanga, but we'll keep that in mind if we ever head that way again 😉😊

😉😊🤤😋
when a chili is served and not cut, then it should be cut with the spoon and mixed with the food to give it the lil bit of spicy kick.
Good to know, we'll have to try that next time, thanks for watching!

Is calamansi a lot like a lime? Any difference in flavor?
