Your Jackery commercial was 'da bomb'!! 🤣🤣 Now Jackery has to hire YOU! lol Laura, your love for the land touched my heart. You're a true Portuguese homesteader. And the Portuguese anthem was a nice nod to the helpful farmer!
I appreciate your positive attitude, despite fleeting inconveniences. We haven't had such a rainy winter in a long time. After two years of severe drought, at least the animals will have a good pasture.😄
Great video, welcome back to your DreamStead. Good on your farmer neighbor for helping pull the van out of the mud. "There’s no place like home My safety harbor from the storm. My cozy haven safe and warm. No matter where I choose to roam . . . There’s just no other place like home." by Author Unknown
You can clearly see how happy you both are to be back. Once you have either worked for yourself or owned a bit of property to call your own there is no going back. I have spent a few hours over the years digging out stuck cars/vans and it's surprising how time consuming and tiring it actually is. Best wishes and look forward to further updates.😁
Well at least you made it back and as you stood there abut to walk over to the van and outhouse, did you check the clouds behind you? No and then the Middlesbrough heavens opened and low and behold Portugal welcomed you home.
You can whip this badboy out anywhere 🤣 and what idiot would even attempt to drive up that track in their van, seriously. My bad 🫢 sorry about the mess we made of the driveway 😂
At least now you know where the bad soft spots are in your driveway, so when you're ready to lay some more stoney surfacing you will have an idea where to put it more, really enjoying your videos.
Pleased to see that most things held up. Hopefully you can fix the issues with the van and the rain eases off enough to start drying out the water damaged items.
When breaking down pallets, start from the back; after removing the boards, stand the pallet on end and knock the blocks off with a hammer. When removing long nails with a claw hammer; put a small block of wood under the hammer, it gives a higher fulcrum, for pulling the nails out
So happy you are back and safe. I am overjiyed the property wasn't a complete mess. In my prayers for you two and all the adventures ahead. TY for sharing them with us all! God Bless!
Glad your inspection went well and everything was just waiting for you. Looking around great progress has been made in many different ways. Proud of you. Go on with the same enthusiasm Laura and Dan.
I have unstuck many cars by putting the rubber mat (from the car) under the stuck wheel. Works quite nice, even though it may damage the rubber mat. It is better than being stuck in the middle of nowhere though.
Enjoyed that very much. Glad your back. You might grab some dry branches and start a corner fire in your barn it will be warm and dry in no time and give you a bit of space in this winter weather. Soon it will be getting cold but sunny in the days. Been here 30 years, so I have a good idea of what I say. keep up the good love and light for your life in Portugal. Xcau. Gary n Sim
🌿🌱🌳🔱🌞 Loved the green covered land ,so beautiful & treat to eyes , it gives me pleasure to see all things are good in your property ,except some wornout in your van , great going guys 🔱
Once you both get warm and dry you will feel better. Have you got a fireplace inside your barn where you can get cozy and warm. Once this rain has passed you both will be able to start getting things back too normal. If you both have to return to England, it would pay you to make a carport for the van and leave it on better ground. Anyway, it's great to see you both back on your homestead, and I look forward to see more of your videos and progression. Take care, and Happy Days.
It made my heart swell to see such Pride of Ownership! I truly believe we don't have enough of that in the world. I am glad you guys feel like you are part of that land. On a side not, I believe you will be much happier with that Ford than you would have been with the Mitsubishi.
That lane to your land !! OMG its going to take some work . Every time you go into town ,grab a few bags of stone chippings and fill in the worst bits . Keep up with the positive attitude and live life and have fun
I am glad things weren't too bad. You could do with fixing the sunroof in the van so you can at least be dry. Dan i cannot believe you were actually going to try out your rings. Madness! Laura your love for your home is lovely to see. I hope your friends have a good visit with you. Happy new yr and i hope 2023 is amazing for you x
I had some wooden rings that were getting dry and splintery. I wrapped them in electrical tape and it's pretty great. Better grip and the tape will protect the rings
how many young women would be so happy to go see if the outhouse is still ok lol, i wish you both the very best for the new year, you will have challenges and disappointments but you have each other, I envy you both lol if only i was 40 years younger, again all the very best for the new year
I can't wait to see what you are going to do next. Looks like you will have water for the summer months. You have a good sole farm neighbor to help you. Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.
A night on the tiles with the girls...I laughed a snorting outloud laugh...thank you both for your videos...I love them and I'm glad you're back in Portugal
This is interesting to watch from the beginning of your adventures. How about a rough fix stove in the barn? I have to ask why you are driving to get water when you have the stream running.
If you have running water like your stream you want a pelton wheel included in your battery charging capabilities. Your water may not run all year, but when it does it is for 24 hours so charging all day long - unlike solar. Good luck with everything!!
When one gets stuck in the mud, first thing should do is jack the vehicle up and put a board over the hole and it will drive right out. Good Tip for all
Loving following your journey, its inspirational and making me seriously question my way of living. Thank you for that A small tip that may help out when stuck: Jamming a plank of wood under the front of the tire can sometimes give you enough traction to get out in a muddy situation
I'm glad your home did fine while you were gone. You might consider putting a sheet of plastic on your van roof or at least a plastic bin (w rock on top) on the skylight to stop more water from coming in.
Guys could do with advice from the locals to get a few things sorted out. Access is is a biggy, drainage too, at the moment looks like you are winging it. Interested to learn your plans, hope you will share soon. Having two UK registered vehicles, would like to know your thoughts on that. I will be making a similar move in the next couple of years and have thought about bringing a four wheel drive and a caravan from Cornwall. I agree living close to nature is very special and increasingly difficult to achieve here in the UK unless very wealthy.
I hope you two had a wonderful Christmas and great to see you back home!! I did have a couple of chuckles during this vid especially when Dan tried to blame you Laura for wetting the bed....it was HIM!! hahaha
Firstly I must wish you both a happy and prosperous new year and hope your wishes all come to fruition this year. It’s good to see you back on the land and with the minimum of damage while you were back in Blighty for a while. The look upon your faces was enough to see how much you love the place. I hope you get some dry weather to allow you to get thing dried out and start doing some needed work to make your life more live able which it turn will give you more energy to get your barn/home sorted.
Love the idea of living off grid, living close to London I hate the hustle and bustle of city life…. I hope one day I can be in the position to have this life style. Good luck to the both of you and a happy new year 🎉
Hi,that stream if it has enough flow might be good for a water turbine power unit take a look at kris Harbour natural building about 12 months ago,he has one on his land in wales, and built one for someone else.
Wishing you guys all the best blessings for the new year bio ethanol heats small spaces very well and it's safe af so far so very good xx Big love to you both solders xxx
Such a beautiful couple, hope all goes well for the two of you, many blessings from Australia 🇦🇺 if we were any younger might have bought the farm next door 🍺🍺
You guys are so cool! I've been absolutely obcessed with your videos! I'm in the process of looking for my own little farm in central portugal and so it's awesome to see how you guys develop yours!
Well done on coping with the weather and pleased to see the farmland looking so fertile. Bodes well for the harvest later in the year. Can you let us know what your plans are for 2023?
Your Jackery commercial was 'da bomb'!! 🤣🤣 Now Jackery has to hire YOU! lol Laura, your love for the land touched my heart. You're a true Portuguese homesteader. And the Portuguese anthem was a nice nod to the helpful farmer!
Glad you're back, great commercials!
🌻💖
Farmers are the same all over the world. Glad you are back to the homestead.
Love watching u both ❤, your attitude is amazing look after yourself c u both next week xxx
Thanks Wendy ❤,❤,
Wow rhe green is truely beautiful🎉
That stream is made for hydroelectrics. You can get a fair amount of electricity from that when you need it in the autumn and winter.
I appreciate your positive attitude, despite fleeting inconveniences. We haven't had such a rainy winter in a long time. After two years of severe drought, at least the animals will have a good pasture.😄
Thanks for your kind words really means a lot and yes many have told us the same we feel like the nature needed it. Have a good evening
Great video, welcome back to your DreamStead. Good on your farmer neighbor for helping pull the van out of the mud.

Please put something down the inside wall of your well like a small homemade ladder for critters to climb out if one happens to fall in.
Gravel for the driveway is a beautiful thing.
Hi you two, 🎉 hope you had a great Christmas. Good to see you back home again, they say home is were the heart is, and yours is there. Tony 🇬🇧 xx
Thanks Tony, hope you had a lovely Christmas too! take care 💖

If you do use a Jackery Explorer definitely the struggle will be real as it is expensive and charges really slow.
Despite all the mishaps, your back home. It was nice to see your farmer at last.
é bom ver gente nova, empreendedora e que aprecia a riqueza da terra.
votos de sucesso! 🤠
Music is so beautiful!
Glad you like it 😀
Well at least you made it back and as you stood there abut to walk over to the van and outhouse, did you check the clouds behind you? No and then the Middlesbrough heavens opened and low and behold Portugal welcomed you home.
Hey Atholl, thanks for watching and yes ha we tried to avoid that heatwave in Middlesbrough
You can whip this badboy out anywhere 🤣 and what idiot would even attempt to drive up that track in their van, seriously. My bad 🫢 sorry about the mess we made of the driveway 😂
Your property is beautiful and we are looking forward to watching your channel to continue to develop :) All the best to you both for 2023!
Thanks so much, you too!
At least now you know where the bad soft spots are in your driveway, so when you're ready to lay some more stoney surfacing you will have an idea where to put it more, really enjoying your videos.
Our neighbour's Massey 135 got us out of trouble several times too, even pulled a 20ft shipping container
A good neighbours is always key :)
Sweet, thank you for sharing.....happy for your positive thoughts....so much negative energy on social platforms..🙏🙏🚜👨🌾🚜🙏🙏😍😍🚜
Thanks for watching 💖😀
Draining is essential in a wet environment especially roads.💖🇦🇺
You could use the inside of Poly to string a line for drying on a wet day.💯
Pleased to see that most things held up. Hopefully you can fix the issues with the van and the rain eases off enough to start drying out the water damaged items.
Thanks, we're hoping things start drying up soon 😀

So happy you are back and safe. I am overjiyed the property wasn't a complete mess. In my prayers for you two and all the adventures ahead. TY for sharing them with us all! God Bless!
We were pleasantly surprised with how everything held up considering how much rain there's been here 😀Thanks so much for watching and the kind words 💖
Glad your inspection went well and everything was just waiting for you. Looking around great progress has been made in many different ways. Proud of you. Go on with the same enthusiasm Laura and Dan.
Great video, fun ending, I loved the heroic music when the tractor arrived 😆😆😆
Glad you liked it, we had such a giggle editing it 😂
I have unstuck many cars by putting the rubber mat (from the car) under the stuck wheel. Works quite nice, even though it may damage the rubber mat. It is better than being stuck in the middle of nowhere though.
Thanks for the tip we will remember that for next time :)
tie 2x4 to the wheel accelerate slowly use branches if needed to gain traction
Build a carport over the van to give it shelter sun and rain!..collect water off roof in tanks
Thanks for the advice
Hello. It was a beautiful nature and a great video. Thanks. See you.
Glad you liked it 😀
Fun to see your joy and determination 🙌🏼✨😊
Thank you!! 😊
Enjoyed that very much. Glad your back. You might grab some dry branches and start a corner fire in your barn it will be warm and dry in no time and give you a bit of space in this winter weather. You should definitely thank Portuguese farmer and find out his name next time you meet as he really came to your rescue there! :)

You wait til spring! It's the most gorgeous area, and dam! That grass will grow some, you can be sure of that. ❤️👍🏻
Looks as though though the property survived fairly well - you must be pleased.
Thanks Mary! Happy new year to you too💖
I had some wooden rings that were getting dry and splintery. I wrapped them in electrical tape and it's pretty great. Better grip and the tape will protect the rings
Thanks for tips :)
Put up a clothes line in y’all barn to help dry y’all wet clothes it may take a couple of days but at least your van won’t smell like wet clothes
how many young women would be so happy to go see if the outhouse is still ok lol, i wish you both the very best for the new year, you will have challenges and disappointments but you have each other, I envy you both lol if only i was 40 years younger, again all the very best for the new year
@Telegrxxm-The_Origin_Homestead I’m sorry but I don’t know if this is real, I’m a 70 year old pensioner I don’t do texegrxxm

I can't wait to see what you are going to do next. Looks like you will have water for the summer months. You have a good sole farm neighbor to help you. Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.
I'm happy for you both that there was minimal damage to all your possessions while you were away. Wishing you both a very Prosperous New Year 🌟🙏

Thanks so much!! 🤗

This is interesting to watch from the beginning of your adventures. How about a rough fix stove in the barn? I have to ask why you are driving to get water when you have the stream running.
Thanks for watching and support. Stove is something we will be adding in future and stream is untested so we need to test

I appreciate both, very beautiful video,
Get some steel wool, if it is available over there. Pack it around any pipes, etc that would allow mice/rats to get in. They can’t/won’t chew thru it.
Merry Christtmas and Happy New Year!
A great new future!
Carry-on.
Thanks Marvin, you too!!
glad to see everything is in order!!! awesome video!!!

Very funny sequence with the tank.. er tractor.
Put stones down on where your tyres go, it helps with mucky areas. Did it in NZ.
Just found you guys. Amazing story so far. Happy New Year to you. Enjoy
Happy new year and all the very best of luck to you both for the future….
Thank you so much 😀 same to you!
Hi, Is your van UK or Portuguese registered ? Just wondering how you get around the MOT aspect when it's left...
Waiting for your clip I hope to make clips out more often.
Good add

I guess it would have been better if you used another power station instead of that Jackery power station.
Welcome back to waterworld.
