I've always wondered why we don't see more Andorian, Vulcan, or other Federation world influences in the design of Starfleet vessels. Pretty much all of them have the Earth aesthetic of circular or ovoid primary hull, smaller engineering hull, and nacelles.
Probably because Starfleet ended up largely standardizing things where most of the designs influence each other and keep the same basic profile and it's only when one steps pretty far away from it that things diverge. one explanation could be that Earth being the least advanced of the founding members meant their ships were more readily compatible with the other species' technology with the aesthetic carry over being a side-effect plus the fact that Earth was the only founding member to commit the entirety of its naval resources to the UFP Starfleet, and that humans are at least a plurality of personnel, might have given them a dominant voice in determining the design language of Starfleet

Bloodsports | HFY | A short Sci-Fi Story, posted by SciFi Stories, set on Miayin IV, mentions the Upau Roekvow, who like an ambient temperature of 250°. Maybe related to Tholians? Maybe related to the orange character in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (oompa oompa might be related to Upau Upau). Any data?
I always wondered why federation members don't have a home defense force
USS Nautilus. That's the 25th century you need to cover.
This is something that the Terran empire would have use in the mirror universe.
I really do like it; but for some reason I keep thinking its upside down
Glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks this. 🙂
I do see the dark shark look.
I’m 4 episode in and am not very impressed with Lower Decks. It feels like I’m watching several Disney characters from the last half dozen Disney movies making an appearance in the trek universe for some reason.
Cool the ship was named after a prankster, the more you know.
Why would a clandestine ship have a starfleet designation printed on the hull? lol
Tf there are lower decks books?
This is what the Batmobile would look if it were to go to space.
So a star trek plum island?
... So this thing is basically one of the Black Ships from 40k?
Or in other words; Medical Anomalies that the CMO refuses to remedy for any reason.
Starfleet security is at your door
I recall the black ships from Warhammer 40k
>lower decks
Into the void it goes.
HEY RICK!
I was watching the DS9 episode S4e7. And after the opening credits, sisko takes the defiant into a gaseous atmosphere. They have to do all these adjustments to the shields and I was wondering if you could talk about Starship capability differences and adjustments in different atmospheres.
To be honest when this ship appeared my first thought was well good bye Boilmer you going to get dissected by starfleet medical.
A covert infiltration, acquisition, extraction, and transport "medical" vessel.
And it looks a bit like an SR-71 Blackbird because… rule of cool? 😅
That whole Friggin Episode Reminded me more of Star Wars and Far FAR less of trek...Dispite it's Refrences to other Shows.
I could never understand clocking devices star fleet it clocked well they should be updating there system to hunt them down but should have be using shelf technology them self's well atleat it start
Has a Stargate look
Looks kinda like a 40K human ship.
Maltz for ST:LD
