Cool list. I've considered getting the onslaught omnibus, but there's a lot of double-dipping in that with stuff I already have. Like, the Spider-Man issues in there are already in the Clone-Saga/Ben Reilley omnibus, the Hulk issues are in Peter David Hulk volume 4 along with Marvel Universe vs. Onslaught, the Wolverine issues I have in one of the Wolverine epic collections. That's kind of the problem with a lot of these big event omnibuses.
Nice to see Astonishing on the list. Say what you will about Whedon but that run is one of the most accessible runs for the team. Having Kitty Pryde as our POV character was perfect and Whedon got group dynamics. Easily one of my favorite omnibuses of all time.

To me, the x-men got their real start with Giant Size X-men #1. Before that, they didn't sell well and were relegated to reprints. The Uncanny team became the iconic team we all know and love today, and the team most people think of when anyone says "x-men".

I agree. The art in the last 6 issues of X-Men Adventures is not the best... they were going for a more simplified "cartoony" look akin to the Batman Adventures comic for whatever reason... but the Andrew Wildman and John Hebert art, in particular, is rather nice. Too bad John Hebert mostly fell out of the comics industry following his run on that series. From what I gather, that was an unfortunate consequence following Ron Perelman running the company into the ground and cancelling 2/3 of their comics in the mid 90s.
Great list. I would probably swap Inferno Prologue, Uncanny By Lee/Claremont Volume 1, Mutant Massacre, and Fall of the Mutants instead of the Animated omni, Onslaught, House of X, and X-Men Volume 1, but these are all great books to read. I'm clearly a big fan of the X-Men's Outback Era lol
Let the controversies commence. Not a bad list. Maybe I'd switch out Onslaught for Road to War of Kings (As its mainly X-men). I also enjoyed the first volume to Ultimate X-men perhaps switching it with X-men Animation. But it's no hill, I'd die on.
I can't believe I don't have Inferno yet! Love Silvestri's stint on X-Men too, so I need to grab this. Overall, a great list. Not sure about Onslaught though. I'd probably replace that with New X-Men.
