Mr. Jay claims to have walked the runway himself, but even if that's true, I highly doubt he did it in a dress and high heels!
If I'm not mistaken, I think Ms Jay walked the runway right before the challenge started. Not mr jay. Ms jay was their runway walk coach so I'm pretty sure it was
Or even gracefully, we don't know if he was stumbling around like a baby deer
If he had they should have filmed it haha
That's a lie he ain't walk that runway
probably with sneakers and with runway on ground before it was put in the pool ....
*Model doesn’t walk because she’s sick*
Tyra: Honey I had the black plague and I still walked the runway. I literally died but I made it fierce and used it to my advantage with my walk. I EMBODIED the plague. I WAS death. As models we have to push through these things.
This is funny. You literally captured Tyra's essence in words.🤣🤣
I heard it in her voice and theatrics 🤣
This made me laugh for five minutes straight. Hahaha
I’m fuckin WHEEZING 😂😂😂
🤣😂😂😂😂😂
I still don’t understand why Tyra doesn’t go first at all these “challenges” A good leader sets the example
Simple, she's the "queen" and the poor models her clowns
Exactly! In fact I would love for her to do every single challenge/photoshoot in the same circumstances and under the same conditions, and see how well she does! I bet you she won't do all that well!
My thought is that she probably DID try some of them (filmed by herself, not in front of the ladies of course) and probably was unable to do a single one of them, hence no footage!
America's Next Top Ninja Warrior 😍
Good point! She could never
I really don’t know how Tyra stood there and actually said the words “we’ve had models in the hospital on IVs or oxygen” and thought that was ok.
That says a lot more about Tyra and the people involved in this vile show. I don’t care what industry it is, you treat your employees/colleagues with respect.
This, this is the second girl to be so badly dehydrated they had to go to the hospital. They are doing something to these girls. And I didn't even notice that Mr. Jay was practically skipping as he walked Monique to the car
@@mechengr1731 Not necessarily. Dehydration is a basic diagnosis used to admit patients when you need to assess them more and also most people are always going to be a bit dehydrated anyways
They want the models to be stable when the runway is not, make it make sense
“For this contest we are testing your ability to defy the laws of gravity” 😂😂
and even with that dumb idea they nailed it
@@nacuyong They all did so well!!! I was blown away by how amazing they were! Also, the one girl who fell was the girl who had to deal with the crazy sleeves, so that's not really surprising.
The show should have been called The Audacity
They also want the models to be stable when the whole show is fucked up.
Jessica you’re a queen! Immediately shutting down the girl with the IV argument was perfect. When Danielle was on an IV, they gave her the medication/fluids she needed to be well enough to shoot. Monique isn’t on IV fluids, pain meds and/or antibiotics, so she may genuinely not be physically able to handle it. The common flu can cause symptoms of muscle weakness and pain that cannot be repaired by anything but rest, fluids and nutrition. Plus: EVERY BODY IS DIFFERENT! Every single person reacts to diseases and stress differently. One person’s mild can be another person’s severe, and that’s acceptable and normal.
Mr Jay is so fake. He said in his interviews he wasnt ok with the way the show trated the models but then again he is smiling and saying mean things to the girls.
See, i'm not so sure what to think, because supposedly they take certain shots out of context and for photoshoots they had him be both positive and negative with each girl and then they would choose which version of him fit the narrative. "Reality" competitions are worse than "reality" dramas, they fake every interaction with or without the knowledge of those in front of the camera, whereas in the "reality" dramas everyone tends to be in on the "story" that's being told.
They're all fake
He's also talked about being under contract. Could have made it difficult for him to leave. I mean I'm just speculating but we don't know what was in his contract and we don't know how it worked.
I agree, he should not be getting out of this unscathed because he's at best complicit in a lot of abuse, let alone with increased fame.
I think we should all ignore him and give any models speaking out the attention he's been getting.
@@ckilbarger01 He watched a girl being sexually harassed, she complained about it and he blamed *her*. Then, recently, he commented about it by mocking her.
No, Mr. Jay has no excuse.
"It's up to you to sell the clothes."
I have literally never, in my entire life, bought clothes because it looked good on the model.
I either bought it because it was comfortable or I just liked the look of it in general.
These girls could just be sitting there in said clothes playing pokemon go with each other and if I thought one of those outfits was cute, I'd go out and buy it.
Stop putting these girls in dangerous situations and telling them that's what "sells clothes".
It doesn't.
And then they have the audacity to gaslight her? "Was she even sick? We don't know" please 🤡
in Oliver Twixt interview, Eugena kinda suggested that Monique faked her sickness for reality tv so yeah...
As a disabled and hard-of-hearing (HH) person, this show is a civil rights nightmare.
Here's some skinny high heels and an unstable runway. If you're strong enough, you can do it without snapping your ankles.
Get in that freezing water. If you're a good enough model, you'll push through the pain.
Oh you're sick? You're not sick. You're faking it. Real models don't get sick.
You have vitiligo? I'm going to call you a "panda" after you ask me to stop.
You're deaf? Have fun when the other contestants mock and exclude you. We're not going to provide any accommodations, btw. Real models can hear.
Bias and discrimination on the basis of chronic illness and disability is called ableism, and the same on the basis of deafness is called audism. For anyone interested.
Right? Like you called for a car to take her home. You said she could go and now you're pretending you don't know about it. These people are master manipulators.
@@janeeyre1990 Thank you for spreading this information! Highly appreciated!
@@heartsfire3187 Like Jessica said it was a trap. I mean Monique was pretty mean(might have been editing) but she still was a decent model
God. That gaslighting... They made it look like she had a choice, then roasted her for making THE RIGHT CHOICE, tell her all of the things she did wrong, question if she was even sick but tell her qualities to make it look like they were being objective. At the end she stays because they knew they couldn't throw out a girl for being sick.
The girl who got eliminated was legit sick, but them gaslighting her was even sicker. She did right choosing her health over whatever physical and mental torture they had planned.
she even looked sick, no doubt
True
The old school models could overcome any obstacles.
@@martell8560 nothing tp be proud of.
It was karma for the way she was acting around the house
like, seriously disgraceful, no editing could make her look any worse.
The most tragic part of this episode was the Jeffree Star cameo at 9:45 😆
Can we talk about it why he there and i thought i was the only 1 who saw him can’t find comments of anyone talking about it
@@breathemyfarts I thought I was going crazy because no one else mentioned it
@@nicolenbbw7947 pretty sure when that was aired that’s the time he was being racist he had that pink thing going on and it’s for me him sitting in the 1 row while he looks like trash what’s he even wearing
@@breathemyfarts i saw three comments counting this one, but they’re hidden in the middle . Lol I almost commented about it too hahah
We saw it, but what’s so amazing about it? This was pre plastic surgery & would be invited to clubs, soirées & things like this in LA back in the 2000s.
Him saying that was the best part of the show when her wardrobe malfunctioning is disgusting 🤢 he should never make those types of remarks horrible horrible horrible
Gross but not surprising alot of creeps in the modeling industry
i know, it made me sick to my stomach, i'm shocked more people aren't talking about it
The thing is in a real fashion show they would have made sure here top was secured.
Seriously, red flag
and wasn’t he the stylist / designer too? the fact that he’d rather be entertained by such an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction than actually appreciate his own couture clothing and do his actual job (to send the models out appropriately wearing the clothes that HE made, for HIS runway), is truly so gross. i’m so sick to my stomach.
Eugena still has the scar from falling on that runway on her leg. She showed it during an interview with Oliver Twixt.
Tyra needs therapy. She tortures the models soo much. Thank you Jessica for reacting to this. Your videos are the BEST
Her “apology” interview was also just turned into a promo for her book and show. Didn’t address any of this chaos at all.
Remember when she gave ppl on her show Vaseline as a gift and she was laughing and screaming on the ground 😬
@@lovestrange6219 remember when she asked Robert Pattinson to bite her neck and everyone was super uncomfortable.😬
Tyra spoke from her modeling experience.
This is entertainment. The women who participate in this show are ADULTS. If you feel like the show is too much for you, leave. They are cabable of making their own decisions. Not to mention that everyone who signs up for it, knows exactly what this show is going to be like.
Oh my lord when Tyra starts talking about herself the compilation of you tuning out and putting on lip balm has me howling
don’t see his clothes dripping so I’m gonna say he did NOT walk that runway
Haha right?! And if he did (highly doubt it), he definitely wasn’t wearing high heels.
@@alexandriapennell1032 oof trueee!
Tbh, the fact that he wasn't on crutches is enough to tell me he didn't walk the runway.
Or if he did it was different. Like the walkway was on the grass before they installed it into the pool... either way he's full of it
I mean, maybe he did, but like... he's not wearing heels.
That thing with Caridee is just SICK. The guy even said "I love it." 🤦♀️
In the Oliver Twixt's interview, Eugena showed us the scars that she still have 'til this day from that fall
what seriously?? that's so messed up, jesus
Around 57 minutes in during the interview in case anyone is wondering!
Damn
I was just away go say the exact same thing. Couldn’t believe it when she showed them
Yep, I was surprised that her career afterward was unscathed by a scar THAT big, considering that she was modelling for PlayBoy
What's funny is that Tyra is THE definition of "Dead Eyes".
No matter what she does, her eyes always look lifeless.
I also hate that over the seasons it seems like they give that comment mostly to the black girls. Eugena keeps getting the "your lifeless, no emotion" feedback throughout the season, even though she's clearly connected to the moment. It's just covert way to roast someone about their facial features rather than actual expression.
And she loves how she came up with "smizing" smiling with your eyes and she looks more like a mug shot eyes
It's called "smize" which is a word Tyra made up. You peasants need to learn the master's vocab!
Yup, it's either they're dead in the eyes *or* always look angry/mean. The second one even more so specific to the Black girls imo
@@skeletorloveI’m not a betting woman, but I would put money on Tyra calling a black woman angry or mean looking at least once per season
This is the same season caridee froze and they told her "listen to her body" 🙄 they just want to give negative feedback
and they wondered why caridee let herself get so bad. The last model who tried to take care of herself this season got sent home. The models were basically told that if you get sick suck it up because we'll send you home if you don't.
@@amethyst_89 amen 👏👏👏
YES they can freaking do no right, there's no winning! They sit something out or give up because they're sick or can't take it and they're told they have to be ready/able to handle ANY crazy thing, they have to be tough, no one cares if they're unwell and they just need to get it together for a second for that one amazing shot, sitting out means they don't care, no one likes complaining, blah blah. So Cari internalizes all that and does exactly what they've been drilling into them and suddenly everyone cares if she's ok, they're willing to pause the photoshoot for her and she still did wrong for not speaking up - as if they couldn't see her literally vibrating and turning blue. that pissed me off. they definitely always want something negative to say or something to "critique" no matter how perfect a girl is, how well she does or how badly she wants it.
Yep! lmfao. They kept getting on that poor girl for not telling them what was going on, but oh my god. They get so bent out of shape if someone doesn't model or work through it while sick. It cost other models their places in the competition if they backed out for their own health.
Not to mention, that one season, when that poor model got a skin condition, they still made her model. And humiliated her farther by making her pose with a baby doll. Not to mention the girls who had to still model after losing someone the day before. They were just thrown into triggering photoshoots.
This!!! Like they told her to suck it up when she was freezing. Then, they told her to listen to her body.
I love how they blame everything on the industry to save face, as if they have no power. "The industry doesn't care if you're sick. Of course, WE have compassion for our girls, WE want you to make the right decision for your body, but the industry is mean, so now we have no choice but to send you home 🤷♀️"
´the industry HATES this show and thinks it's unreal compared to their job
@@ClaudetteVioletta Also the industry slowly changes .... To slow I think but ... better than it being like ... ANTM
They ARE the "industry". They are actually even worse because real industry overall cares about fashion, glam, class. This is a circus show and there is nothing fashionable about it!
That music switch when you called out Mr. Jay to do the runway walk 💀💀💀
omg yeah i loved that part HAHA
La rosa de Guadalupe realness
Jessica your sarcasm is so unmatched. I laugh everytime I watch these runway shows with you 🤣🤣🤣
I love the designer being like 'the materials are delicate' and then they have the models run down a very unstable runway that could very well end in them falling into the pool. Cero logic whatsoever
I was thinking the same thing???
If the dress is delicate, no one would buy it
aka "the clothes i designed are raggedy and not made for exposure to the elements"
Late to the party, but I would never let any of my own design work be exposed to risks like that (I'm a theatre costume maker). That's crazy. Some of my dresses took hundreds of hours to create from scratch.
Talking about how you’re surprised they even had lights on the runway, you should react to the photo shoot they did in the pitch dark where Nyle had like little to no chance of succeeding because they were yelling when they were going to take the picture and obviously he would be at a disadvantage bc he’s deaf.
"The model world doesn't care if you're sick" All the more reason for her to care cause y'all obviously won't do it for her.
YES!! Like the model should care about her “dead eyes” or a fruit falling of her head, but the model world wouldn’t care if she’s breaking her leg or vomiting her guts out? 🙄🙄
@@1LauraMeow She could fall from a cliff and they would ask "are you ready to model now".. these people are ridiculous
@@heartsfire3187 if she fell from a cliff they would’ve either said “you should’ve told us, you have to listen to your body” or “sometimes I wonder if you take this seriously and if you really want to be here. Who Are You...?” 😂
Was HR not a thing at the time? All these unsafe working conditions would never be tolerated in the modeling industry today, let alone a regular workplace.
Unsafe conditions are a recipe for a lawsuit.
ANTM sets up bizarre see-saw runway over water.
Jay:“Her footwork was a little off.”
I can’t.
What other runway would be like this?! They’ll never have to do anything like it
Yeah no runway is like this. It's too distracting and people wont focus on the clothes. Its dumb
They just wanted to make fun of them and get views😤
Even if they did do a stupid runway like this, models would've signed up knowing what they were getting into and they would've had rehearsals on the modified runway to get it right. Designers wouldn't want a model to fall because of their runway because it would make them and their clothes look bad.
This or at the least had them walk barefoot
@@KeyToSaraBe Exactly! They would have had countless practices to make sure they girls got it down
Not enough models fell in the pool so we're adding a finale walk ! Let's hope some more fall in ! That was pretty obvious. Jessica - you are adorable & I love your editing! 😍
Few episodes later:
Tyra: omg caridee why didn’t you tell us you were sick, this is all your fault we would’ve stopped if you said something!
Caridee: like last month the girl said she was sick and you sent her home because she “didn’t want to be here”...
Did caridee get sent home for this? Just wondering, I don’t watch the show
No, they then kept talking about how pretty her picture was. She was the runner up of the season
@@ThaliaVSD Caridee won this season
And she told them she was sick MANY TIMES in that Photoshop
I love that you're roasting Tyra's roasts! I didn't realize how pissed off I was at this show until people like you started calling it out! Thanks and keep it up! :)
I’ll give my stimulus check to anybody that has video footage of Mr. Jay Manuel walking on the same runway these girls walked on. 😂
In a dress and heels too so he knows how they feel
Jessica pulling out her lip balm when Tyra went on her rant. . . CLASSIC! 😆🤣😂
It’s literally manipulating that Mr. Jay told her that going home from her sickness is only, but then they scold her for it. It’s like a teacher telling you that it’s okay to go home sick but then giving you a write up. She should’ve been allowed to stay out of this round because that’s what was communicated to her
Yep. Reminds me of jobs I've had before, "Here, you have a weeks worth of sick leave, it's one of your benefits. Oh, and by the way, if you take a day because your sick, we're going to write you up. If you use all your days, we'll let's just say you'll probably be fired."
@@jd-no7rw i like how they think its a privilege to....be sick??
@@publicunknown, that basically describes the attitude toward health issues and disability in a necrocapitalist system.
Necrocapitalism places THE MARKET and COMMERCE above human life.
In this system, disabled people and people with chronic health conditions are seen as less productive than nondisabled people / ableds.
They are therefore essentially worthless and expendable. You can see this in the US where some Republican politicians called for elderly people to sacrifice their lives to COVID so that businesses didn't have to close.
If you have that mindset, getting a sick day is a privilege. It's better than being literally killed or pushed to the margins of society (e.g., group home, nursing home).
Back when I was in school our high school said that our parents would be arrested if we had 9 or more unexcused absences even if we were sick or not. 🤷♀️
@@breewashere That is so odd lol I think children are required to meet a particular amount of school days and if you miss a lot something might happen or be looked into but I dont think "arrested" would be the right word lol And certainly not for 9 days. Sounds as manipulative as this
I just found your channel today and had watched maybe 10 videos already lol I'm so glad a person like you is on this planet. We need more people like you!
Why aren’t more people talking about how cruel this show was. It humiliated and brutally judged every girl that went on there. It breaks my heart. More light needs to be brought to this.
Specially when all the photos are useless for portfolio. Not a client in the world care for pics or stuff like this because they don't need a model do it
Also why did I want to be on his show when i was 12?
Litteraly so many people are speaking about this..
My exact feelings! I just posted at the top here that Tyra is evil! When you watch a bunch of episodes in a row, you start to feel bad in your soul by extension of watching the abuse these girls endure over and over again. So much gaslighting and abusive behavior and the panel and Tyra get so damned angry if you don't act grateful and grovel for their abusive "approval"!!
I think this is the reason why Tyra had to make hundreds of apologies and she also deleted her Twitter account because of all the criticism…. last I heard.
I love Jessica’s comment “ you are not connecting, like are you trying to install a WiFi?” Lmao… it would be great if the models could respond like that.
You are so right that it is either "you should push through when you are sick even if you're dying" OR when a model does that and passes out or is in danger "you really have to know your limits and your body and communicate with us." Tyra, you cannot have it both ways.
She just want to find some excuse to make herself look fierce and right, at the same time compassion, but i dont think that is what she is. She needs to choose which side she wants to show us, not turning it like they are not the one to blame for their lack of care.
The fact that the judges blatantly made it known that no one cared about any of their well being is sickening to me. Can’t wait to see more of your videos 💕
Turns out Jigsaw is actually one of the producers on the show who come up with these insane challenges
It makes total sense 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Tyra is the next Apprentice.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wanna play a game
That creepy show or?
I love how Jessica was surprised the runway was lit when there was one season with a model who was legally blind and they had them walk an almost pitch black runway...please react to that
In reality shows I’ve seen, if a contestant is sick they just automatically go into the bottom next week, but they are not disqualified right away. The fact that the industry doesn’t care about people’s health just makes me think how much of a bad industry it is. These are human beings for fucks sake.
but tyra was "a crusader for change" ...... -.-
I don’t get it. “The industry doesn’t care if you’re sick”... like, what? Excuse you, it’s ILLEGAL to not care in my country, is it legal in the States? The employer doesn’t have the choice to not care about their employee’s health, that’s what a Constitution is for
@@anacristinafonseca8891 "The US requires unpaid leave for serious illnesses through the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). This law requires most medium-sized and larger employers to comply and, within those businesses, covers employees who have worked for their employer for at least 12 months prior to taking the leave."
Employers are not required to provide paid sick leave. Employees are not required to be provided even unpaid sick leave if they work for a small business or have not worked their for at least 12 months. Some businesses will fire employees for calling in to work.
In my state, it is actually illegal for cities to enact their own requirements for paid sick leave.
@@aaronwolf1045 wow, for such a developed country, so modern and up-to-date in so many matters, some laws in the states are nothing but primitive. I meant in a broader sense, employers just can’t put their employee’s health in danger! What are we, barbarians? In a civilized country you can’t just harm other people and call it “an industry”. I agree that forcing small businesses to pay for sick leave is open for discussion, but allowing people to NOT CONTAMINATE others at their workplace without the threat of unemployment is just basic human rights, and not only the sick person’s right, it affects the whole community, as proven by COVID.
I live in a third world country, and here it is illegal to fire people because they were sick. Of course, it is required that the sick worker bring the employer a document signed by a doctor stating that the person was, in fact, too sick to work, or that it was something contagious and it would be dangerous to other people. But then, we have universal health care, so... yeah.
@venswim it’s so weird how much everything has changed. Like watching this channel she reviewed the photos of “stereotypes” including eating disordered and drug addictions!? Like wtf, that’s not a stereotype. Also so many girls from that show were struggling with those actual issues.
i’ve been binging jessica after a long time and she seems like she’s really gotten out of her shell!? radiating confident energy queen 😘
It cracked me up when Tyra said ‘this is the REAL. WORLD.’
Lol... No.
Tyra: “The industry doesn’t care if you’re sick and dying, this is the real world, girl! BUT! You have to care about the bowl not to fall off your head, you don’t care enough about that apple in the bowl, HOW DARE YOU????”
😎..Lol! 😄
One of my freshman professors gave me the same trap as Jay did: I showed up to our exam crying bc I got sick just as I was supposed to leave, so I was about 15 min late. I get to the room and he sees me walk in and goes “Where have you been” and Im legit sobbing “Sir Im so so sorry I got sick, I sent you an email but I didnt know what to do” and he goes “Oh if you are sick just go back you dont need to take the exam” and then he gave me a zero and ridiculed me in front of the entire class the next time I saw him. Gave me such anxiety I could barely make it to any of my future classes
Sorry to hear. He sounds pathetic! At least you know you did the right thing.
was it real sick or hungover sick
So crual!!! Think about your health first. You made the good choice.
Wow that's really messed up, how could he be so cruel? What he did to you is unethical, you did the right thing by looking after yourself and not taking the exam. At my university we can apply for an aegrotat or compassionate consideration if we are sick for an exam, I had no idea it wasn't like this at other unis/colleges. :(
@@blabajdhdhek8815 The OP is saying they threw up just before leaving for class.
I love how you've been focusing on the sadism of Tyra Banks. If this happened on a real modelling job the model would be able to sue the agent and the event organiser for unsafe working conditions, but because this is a reality show and they've signed their waivers already they just have to put up with it. Tyra, Jay Alexander and Miss Jay all know that this isn't how the industry works and they are lying to these women who don't have the experience to know better. They are all complicit in the abuse of these women and I hate how they've normalised their manipulative behaviour, it's disgusting.
The disadvantage to making models walk across wobbly runway in the dark is that you can’t see them fall. That is the only reason they models got to have lights shining on them.
@Bitter Butter I LITERALLY SAID THAT LOLOL
Jay: yells flawless for Eugena
Also Jay 2 seconds later: "I really wanted to see more life"
Jay walked the runway... in flats, with the pool drained.
He walked on it while it was still on the ground next to the pool (but still in flats, just to be sure)
I feel like all this show is about is humiliating all these girls that want to be models to entertain Tyra and her friends and who ever is able to handle the humiliation until the end is awarded the “model” label and she kinda helps with their career
the motion blur captures the essence of the photoshoot: messy and unnecessary
Anchal had the face and that's all that should've mattered! Also, Eugena went on to make a great career for herself. I remember seeing her in ads all the time.
Edit: Also, Monique would've been a perfect beauty campaign model!
Anchal became a briefcase girl on deal or no deal, so I’m glad she got some work!
pink haired Jeffree Star is in the audience at 9:44 laughing at Caridee's wardrobe malfunction.
I knew that was Jeffree Star lol
Thought so!
Lol look at the creep next to him smiling
I was about to comment this! Lol
I was looking for this! Thank you!
I love her "let's see how many I get right" regarding her guesses, because with ANTM literally all three of those guesses are possible to happen at the same time
Honestly, I was blown away by how well the girls did. It doesn't make the concept okay, but they were all fantastic. The fact that the only girl who fell was the one who had to deal with the sleeves was not a coincidence. As painful as this episode is to watch, they were all incredible and should be wildly proud of themselves, INCLUDING the girl who was able to listen to her body. She could have been in serious danger had she gone on that runway sick.
on the topic of walking on the wobbly run way, the fact that NONE of the girls shoved another off and instead made sure they BOTH passed each other safely made me so happy. Like they were helping each other out and there Jay is encouraging to push the other off to walk back effectively (13:14) talk about a big yikes
Could you please watch an episode from the British version of this show? I think you'll be shocked how much nicer the judging and general vibe is! It's definitely worth to see the comparison as the judges don't tear down the models :)
The wobbly runway was not the most problematic thing in this episode. It was when a wild Myspace Jeffree Star appeared FOR ME!!😭😭
Yas, i was scrolling through the comments, i thought i was the only one
@@analog_wav lmfao same! I'm surprised no one said anything
I thought I was the only one who saw him!
Came looking for this comment, old school J Star there was super random 😄
I saw him too and went back 10 seconds to look again!
I think that runway was a great way to break a leg or get seriously injured in heels with those grooves. That show isn't worth it. The models did a great job. They should be apologizing to tge lady who was injured instead of insulting her. They put her in harms way for fun.
You should react to Cycle 12 when the girls go to Brazil and the judges force a photoshoot in the middle of a Favela...
And just the comments that were made about treating the people that LIVE there literally like props. Or treating the Favela like it's some tourist trap. And Tyra calling it like "Brazil's Ghetto". As a Brazilian, I swear, this episode gave me SUCH anger. I would love to hear your thoughts.
Oh no...that is horrifying!
Falta de respeito, sinceramente. Favela ou não, são pessoas como outras quaisquer. Usá-las desse modo para fazer dinheiro é do pior.
That's awful!
PLEASE. WE NEED THIS REACTION!!!!
Like Tyra know what a ghetto is...the closest Tyra came close to ghetto was the Shoe Store manager she played in MADTV!
Yes I agree. It also seemed like they only wanted to show the ugly size of Brazil, unlike the other countries they went to. I really don’t remember seeing anything beautiful of Brazil in that episode.
Lmao I love you’re reactions 😂😭 Mr Jay being happy closing that limo door fr! Haha
I feel like the moment you get sick on ANTM, you're doomed. You don't do the challenge? "you don't want it enough". You do it anyway? "a model has to know her boundaries. And we can tell you look sick. You didn't sell the clothes, so better not try to sell them at all by not going"
Literally no way out
I'm even more convinced that this isn't a model competition, its a setup. They take advantage of everybody
"You're not connecting. What does that even mean? Are you trying to install wi-fi?" ha ha the judges are ridiculous but your comments are always on point
Somebody needs to call OSHA-the one agency with the power to shut down even Hollywood
Not to mention a couple of them had they hands tied together by the designs, so they couldn’t use their arms to maintain balance. They did incredible with all the crap they put them through!
I absolutely love your commentary and how you give people permission to respect and value themselves. Thank you!
OMG you finally reacted to American Ninja Warrior 😍😍😍 Yeah I agree the lights could've been turned off and the runway should've been smaller. I also would've added monkey bars and a huge slide at the end
Actually a huge slide at the end sounds like a superfun way to end each walk 🤣
They could have done it blindfolded as well!
I absolutely love your channel. It’s your energy for me. That Tyra sure does make every episode about her🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
They constantly harp on Eugena yet she was one of the models who had a successful career after her stint on ANTM.
I also LOVE how the designer says "Yes, we are going to have you in VERY DELICATE organza dresses.....which you must be careful wearing.....but lets put you on a WOBBLY RUNWAY hanging over a pool. And you still have to look calm and confident and professional and gorgeous and don't you DARE rip our clothes. lol I mean, its not like we can't have you model, say designer swimwear. That would be TOO EASY. lol And honestly, I DON'T think it was fair AT ALL that Mr. Jay gave Monique the choice between doing the challenge or going home to rest "you have to do what's right FOR YOU", and all that, and then, she's chastised and eliminated for choosing her HEALTH over a potentially dangerous challenge. Honestly, he COULD have said "I know you are sick. We'll have you go very first and then you can go home and rest".
This is just pure evil! Something is seriously wrong with Tyra! 💯
In Greece's Next Top Model they did the same runaway, the girls were freezing because it was a cold night and they were yelled by Genevieve(the show's art director).
so they copied the US show in Greece, how creative! ;-))
@@lilg2300 Yeah, the first season was back in 2009 and the newest in 2018
I just don’t understand how the judges think they’re supposed to do well on a runway they’ve never practiced on, especially one that’s just floating in the middle of a pool
Yikes, Jada's outfit meant that if she fell in, she wouldn't be able to move her arms...
That's not dangerous at all.....🤦♀️🤦♀️
I never realized that lmaoo
this reminds me of one guo pei runway show where one of the models had a floor-length dress and such a high heel she had to walk in tiny little steps, very slowly. and it was beautiful. what i mean is, safety over speed, safety over speed, safety over speed.
Yes.
I absolutely died at the impression of Tyra reading the scripts 😂😂
These types of challenges on this show were just absolutely treacherous. It was so dangerous and unnecessary. Models do have to walk through some pretty fckd up terrain sometimes but this is just absolutely unnecessary
"I'm surprised they have the light one"
Actually... I remember one episode with a photoshoot in the dark, no lights, with a deaf model...
Yesssss. Jessica needs to react to that eposide!!
@@sarahserenity3872 she did a reaction to that but she didn't post it due to copyright claims, check her community posts.
It was season 22, episode 13
They also did a poorly lit runway with Amanda (who was legally blind) in an earlier season
Tyra: "this is the real world."
Me: "nope. It's Tyra's world, where anything goes!"
Tyra has way too many high expectations and incredibly high standards for the girls it's so unnecessary I think being sick should be a reason to not take a photo I honestly feed bad for that girl she couldn't help feeling unwell
Not only was Jaeda in heels, her arms were connected in that damn shirt so she couldn't even hold them out to balance herself.
I used to stan ANTM when I was younger. Didn'te realize then how utterly problematic it was. TY👏RA👏IS👏 PROB👏LE👏MA👏TIC😡
I know! I LOVED it when I was a kid, didn't ever miss an episode. Now looking back, that show was definitely YIKES
Tyra isn't just problematic but outright sadistic.
Tyra is a damn Tyrant
We were problematic as well to endorse this kind of behavior for a decade 😔 I'm so sorry for the girls now
I cant believe that when I was teenage watching this I thought this was normal and this is how fashion/runway shows really looked like. No disigner would want this like this to happen while showing their desings, art, etc. They did those womens poorly, I just cant with the bullying.
Anyone else catch that glimpse of jeffree star in the audience lmfao
What was the time stamp?
@@VikiWishes i haven't gotten there yet, but he's in the front row with the bright pink hair. And he has a crown on i think. Lol. Just keep looking and you'll see.
@@VikiWishes 9:44 :)
it's at 9:44
@@vanityplates3125 yesss precisely its pretty hard to miss tbh XD
ANTM: Make sure you are very careful with these designs, parts of the clothes are extremely delicate, so just be extra careful while wearing them, okay?
Also ANTM: Now go walk on this unstable platform floating in the water.
Also, I’d like to see an episode where Tyra walks all of the runways and does all of the photoshoots that these beautiful ladies had to do for every season
Also, I just realized that they did the motion blur because some of the photos were taken during the "finale walk", so there are other girls stumbling behind them in the pictures lmao, for example you can see AJ behind Caridee at 17:34
Hi Jessica! If you're interested in reacting to other extreme runways I have a recommendation. In Cycle 15 there was a fashion show where the runway actually jutted out from the top of a building. It looks terrifying and pointless because I still don't undestand how anyone would actually be able to see the clothes.
Reminds me another one, in cycle 20 : the girls had to walk down a wall, because well, it’ s known that a vertical runway is the best way to appreciate the clothes. One girl didn’t succeed to walk actually on the wall and wasn’t able take foot again on it, so she just let the cables bring her to the ground while posing in the air in a « the show must go on » mood, and of course, she was roasted for that 🙄.
@@melyb333 You mean Guess clothes.
@@melyb333 Oh yeah, I remember that. At that point, the show was going getting even crazier and crazier with each cycle.
wasnt this the one where there was a contestant that was considered legally blind or they wouldn’t let her wear her glasses and she was so terrified that she was gonna walk right off? and they basically told her to suck it up and don’t die.
Jessica making me realize the ANTM production team are basically the Gamemakers from The Hunger Games. LOLOLOL
whoever thought of this challenge is an absolute psycho
it was Tyra(nny)
Ugh I'm thinking about that poor girls health imagine if she fell in the pool at night while she was sick, there would be no way that she could even go to the judging cos she would of gotten more ill
WTF @ Jeffree Star sighting 9:44! How did I never catch that?!?!
He was pretty big in that industry at the time. He did some modeling too
Good Catch
Omg what!!!
I saw him in the audience and few years ago when I was rewatching this season. I was like omg!! Jeffree just chilling getting to see Caridee's boob!!!
AHHH!!! So funny!
It’s hilarious watching your first reaction videos to now - obviously because you’ve figured out the show’s tactics. You used to give the show the benefit of the doubt and now you go straight to, “oh they’re setting them up to fail.”
Also you should react to Mr Jay’s RUclips video about his “falling out” with Tyra. Or really any of them discussing why they left the show.
"its the unstable runway - reminds me of my personal life" im crying, me too jessica, me too
“I’d have to pass on this one. I’m a Libra, I’m already balanced.” YES QUEEN!
Am I the only one who saw early 2000 Jeffery star the pink puff in the front row 😂
I was just thinking this and started scrolling to see if anyone else commented about it 😂
@@sydneykay610 😂 literally same, but it needed to be said
I literally saw him and was like Jefferson Starbucks what are you doing there-
@@klaralouth5801 Jefferson Starbucks 💀 that’s a new one
Eugena look like she wanna knock Tyra tf out lmaaoo
I absolutely adore this channel and you! Love the antm reactions!
Oh my god Jessica’s personality and humour really comes through in these videos and I love it, I’m honestly laughing out loud watching this. The impression’s and the sarcasm is amazing 😂 but also how you speak about the way that they treat the models especially Tyra and Mr. jay is good because it lets a lot of people realise that this show wasn’t what it was cracked up to be especially for the models themselves. So thank you Jessica for both informing us as a professional photographer and making us laugh!
In Eugena’s interview with Oliver Twixt she said that they put 2 corsets on her and laced them so tight she couldn’t breathe, made her wear 6” stilleto shoes that were a size too big for her, and she shows the huge scars she still has on her legs from the fall. WILD.
