Will keep this build in mind as I work on my new Inquisitive Rogue. I went Half-Elf with the Urban Bounty Hunter background from the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, and am planning on taking the Observant feat and the Crossbow Master feat since I want to use both a rapier and hand-crossbow. Which fighting style would you recommend I take for my first level of Fighter?
@@colbornthunderhammerdd5e6 I was thinking of that lol, I currently have some upgraded studded leather armor that puts my current AC at 17, so the +1 from Defense would be great. I think I might go more ranged with my hand crossbow, though with Crossbow Expert I can afford to be a little closer in than our Rangers in the group, and can use my rapier if I need to close the distance. Would Tactical Assessment be a good maneuver as well? I figured it'd just go naturally with Insightful Fighting, Precision Attack and Riposte are two maneuvers I'd pick up for sure though
@@thekaijusleeps tactical assessment would be good for support but don't forget about goading attack and then dash as a bonus action away for hit and run tactics.
No freaking way. I’ve have also been making the same multiclass! I choice different leveling, a different feat, background and staring in rouge. Other then that it’s basically the same. Grate minds think alike 😁
First time playing 5e (veteran dnd’r here). I typically roll rogues so I made a rogue Halfling in our group. I didn’t do enough research before rolling so I kinda goofed my character a little. Trying to maximize my versatility and I had already narrowed down my build and this was what I was going with. There are a few differences in mine, hadn’t thought about the dual wielding fighter features, I was leaning more to boost my AC for reposte and help withstand survivability. I’m gonna have to look into dual now instead.
Got one for you buddy. I'm a lv 6 grave cleric, Ghostwise Halfling. I'm wanting to multiclass and I'm thinking either shep. Druid or way of the long dead monk. Either 6 Or 8 cleric/ 12 or 14 druid or monk. Magic items I have are goggles of night, staff of Swarming and a plus 1 wooden shield. My stats at 20 would be dex and wis 20, con 14 and I don't know if I want to take feats.
Be careful when using giant insect as a Sheppard druid. The wording in the spell prevents them from having magical attacks and added hitpoints because you didn't conjure them you made them grow bigger. Personally I think Monk goes really well with cleric. The wisdom to boost armor class and spell damage. Also you could pick magic initiate and go shillelagh so all of your attack rolls are wisdom based and magical. Quarterstaff and club are monk weapons. You can also pick up spiritual guardians and spiritual weapon with the cleric to increase damage and shield of faith to improve survivability. If you go Shepard Druid it does go really well with group support with healing and having pets deal and soak up damage. Also have your creatures flank to give your party advantage. This will make the enemy target the summoned creatures to get rid of the more fragile creature to stop the advantage and keep damage off the party. Either choice is good it just depends. If you want to melee take monk and if you want to stay group support go druid.
The reason why I flavored all the creatures with conjure animal as bugs with the bug summoner build is because the Sheppard abilities didn't work with giant insect.
I just had a thought. If you gave a party member advantage it doubles their critical chance (with summoned creature flanking) then you use the grave pact ability to make the target vulnerable to the next attacks damage. You could literally quadruple the damage of a party member with a critical.
when you look on the chart for your class you will get ability score improvements. You can choose to either put points in to your abilities or (if your DM allows, which most do) to take a feat instead

Can't go wrong with more AC. But I guess it would depend on if you want to do ranged more or melee more.
Trip attack to the knee with a crossbow would be funny.

Maneuvering Attack is a great way to get the squishy PCs out of melee. I like Arcane Trickster for the crowd control effects, too.
Riposte is also a great damage dealer. That and trip attack are two of my favorites.

Sometimes the best defense is a good offense

@@colbornthunderhammerdd5e6 so the question then is this... 6/14 Or 8/12 ?
Sean Heath 6/14 just enough to channel divinity twice then switch
Do variant human work in this multi class?
Yes but be careful about fighting in the dark with no dark vision it could ruin sneak attack with disadvantage and cost you a lot of damage.
there's no Sharpshooter in the 5E player handbook. where are you getting that from?
