  • We started off our trip taking a quick 1.5 hour flight from Cairo to Aqaba, Jordan which is not as popular of a place to visit. We spent a few relaxing days eating some of our favorite foods in Jordan- we loved the meal at Kashoka and I loved the falafel wraps from Al Basha. Then we headed to the Wadi Rum desert where we spent 2 nights glamping in a bubble tent. It was such a magical experience. We did jeep tours, had Zarb (a traditional Bedouin meal), sunset camel rides and stargazed from our tent. It was so magical and we loved our stay at Orbit Camp. The host was so kind and honestly everyone we encountered during this trip was kind. Afterwards, we took the bus to Petra where we spent 2 days exploring all that there is to offer. Petra is so much more than the Treasury and honestly I loved the Petra Museum which was free. I learned so much about the Nabatean people which I never learned about before. The most amazing part was having the treasury (one of the 7 wonders) all to ourselves. We ended our trip spending 2 days in Amman. One day we used to visit the Dead Sea on a budget. I highly recommend the Dead Sea Spa and Resort they have great amenities and good access to the beach. The last day we explored Amman and visited the Citadel, Roman Empire and ate at the famous Hashem for their hummus and Habibah Sweets for their Kunafa. Honestly one of the highlights of my adult gap year so far. I loved my time in Jordan and felt so safe while I was there.
