    started with iPhone mainly because we got one cheap second hand, but a main motivator to switch to Android was also just being locked into the small storage of iPhones, haha.
    As for customizability, don't forget you can also replace your home screen - it's just an app, after all. I'm using Total Launcher and spent a couple months dragging, dropping, and resizing stuff by hand for a fully customized and compact UI. Since you can't change batteries any more, and the lack of updates (and when you do get an update, it might actually make your 1-2 year old device even worse) really makes the phone worse in the end rather than it actually breaking. I've never broken a phone. Now I'm on a Samsung Galaxy A52s 5g. It works. I use my phone for basic stuff. Maps, Whatsapp, email, listening to music and banking. Phones like the Nothing Phone and Pixel are becomming more and more popular because they actually contain a good Android ROM, polished and with easier access. Casual users just want that. A phone for texting, calling and maybe the camera and social media. It should just work. And the A Series isn't doing justice either. Helped with setting up an A phone. Took ages and I couldn't really make a Samsung account properly.
      You CAN deal with the iOS problems. A Sideloading service for iOS costs around 15$ a year and customization can be done with Cowabunga Lite or with good Widget apps. The Shortcut app is useful for some Android features.

    I’ve considered switching to Android from iOS several times but never have. The OnePlus Open has me intrigued because of how well the crease is hidden compared to other folds. Personally, I just like how iOS looks compared to Android. I know there are iOS launchers out there that you can download. iOS for me has also been reliable for the most part. I had one major issue with my old iPhone 8+ which ended up boot looping on me. It’s going have to take Apple to screw up royally in order to get me to switch at this point.

    • @Joshtheweatherman
      @Joshtheweatherman 5 месяцев назад

      A lot of foldables made after 2020 don't have crease issues. I think the only one that had the biggest issue was the Z-Flip. But the OnePlus Open, Motorola RAZR, and the newest Z-Flip and Z-Fold is a great choice! I've have my Motorola RAZR 5G for 3 1/2 years now, and I use it all the time. It's got a few scratches on the screen, but no creases, and no dead pixels or black spots. Works flawlessly.

    Switched from an iPhone to a Pixel 6a earlier this year ahead of an overseas trip. $299 Australian outright, brand new and unlocked from Vodafone. Incredible phone, especially at that price. Fast, effective, camera takes decent photos and the Battery just doesn't quit - from 9 AM to midnight each day I was using it for taking photos and videos, calls and messages, and maps and navigation finding my way around the local rail network, and it never once dipped below 65%.
    After 15 years with the iPhone (starting with the 3G in '08) I thought it would be a lot harder to make the switch, but once the contents were transferred and all the apps were downloaded and signed in, it was pretty simple overall.
    Haven't installed a custom ROM onto it yet, but I'll probably go the Lineage or Graphene route at some point in the future.

      @crispyjokingtuna1495 5 месяцев назад

      @@SSS-sz8mg most smartphones open the same way. Heat it up and gentle prying to lift either the screen or back glass off. As for the sofware pairing. You won’t be able to see the max capacity anymore but you will have the full capacity to charge back. The phone doesn’t manage that. What manages charge capacity is the bms board which is attached directly to he battery. The way max capacity report works is iOS checking the bms report

    I'm also considering going the un-Google'd Android route for my next phone. I'm on a regular stock Samsung Galaxy phone now and I like it a lot, but it's an older phone (4+ years old now) and it's time to upgrade. I have considered the Apple route multiple times, but each time I just cannot justify the price to be locked into an ecosystem like that.

      1,000 for a phone that will get slowed down right after the software doesn’t support it. I had a 7 and right after iOS 13 released (not supported by the 7) everything became unusable. Battery was dropping by 12 percent Just by unlocking the phone (81% battery health), phone would not unlock and was stuck in lock screen until power cycling this phone, and apps would not load. Now have a standard 11 and beside slightly small storage it has been decent. Battery life was much better before installing more apps. I was going from 3 days without charging to between half and a hole day. This is with the same battery health and less screen time.

    I have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra. It is the last Samsung flagship that takes a micro SD. I already have 256GGB and with my 256GB card I have 512GB of storage. It has 12GB of RAM and the camera is still great. Can't see much point in upgrading (which would level this phone as little more than an alarm clock).

    I switched from Android to Apple about 5 years ago. It felt like I was jumping off a cliff into an unknown-but-probably-terrible fate. To my surprise, everything in iOS felt so much better and intuitive. I have considered switching back to Android, but then the thought of how terribly put together the entire Android experience is, I think (for now) I will stick to the well put together experience that is iOS. Android really has to clean its total experience up for me to make the jump back.

    I thought this was gonna be more satire but this was pretty good. Still love your satire though!!! The thing about Graphene is you can’t see the value, but it’s far superior in terms of privacy and security. You just need to understand how important that is and will be in the future. Most people are instant gratification types and don’t care about these things.
