I know people like to compare them to Zep, and yeah, they do sound like them in some aspects, but people tend to forget Zeppelin sampled quite a few songs by old blues artists when they were starting out. I also believe Zeppelin recorded several songs and did not credit the proper songwriter, leaving fans to believe they themselves created the music. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been a Zeppelin fan for 40 years, but even the great ones had to start somewhere. Just my humble opinion.

Sampled? A lot of zeppelin's songs were full blown covers

That was me on your Patreon!!! Thanks for taking this one, brother!!!
I figured with your latest kick on classic rock, it would be awesome to see hear young kids today doing this today! Love this song. Thank you so much!!! Now you have a lot more context to review it with.
Yah the look/dress does kinda rub me cheesy, too. But damn they sound amazing.
I got another one for September for ya, too. :-) Peace! And TMac drops two albums this Friday. Can't wait.

GVF are certainly reminiscent of Led Zeppelin but I don't find them to be derivative at all. I think GVF stand on their own and make fine music.

Smoke Rising is a good one. Their first whole album was great, done while all members were in their late teens. Three front guys are brothers with their friend on drums.

I have been listening to these guys since their first ep was released. I heard about them on Dean Delray's podcast. He was interviewing Nikki Sixx and Nikki asked him about new bands and he was blown away when he heard them,

I am so glad you reacted to GVF!! They are amazing!! You need to seriously keep going down the rabbit hole. They actually have a great song called Flower Power. The live from Red Rocks is awesome. I'm in my 50's and grew up listening to 70's Rock. I was fortunate enough to see Greta Van Fleet in concert August 5th 2021 in Franklin TN and that was one of the best shows I've ever seen. They are so talented and their energy is unbelievable. They're going to be in Atlanta with Metallica. If you get the chance to see them, you should definitely go. Black Smoke Rising, Flower Power, Safari Song, Caravel, Anthem, Age of Machine, Age of Man, My way soon, Built by Nations, and Broken Bells. They're all great! Thank you for this and giving them a chance. I'm personally glad that they are keeping Rock alive.

The thing about Greta Van Fleet is they are definitely talented in their own right. They may sound similar to LZ but don’t a lot of bands in any given era sound similar? These kids are rockin it out in a time when heavily and over produced bands where a dime a dozen. They’re unique in our current time when talented musicians seem like a thing of the past. Clearly they are talented and have brought true rock & roll back! ✌🏼❤️

Zep has been my all time favorite band for 40 years now, give or take. I don't understand how anyone can say that GVF is not nearly a dead ringer for them, when they try. Since we are denied anything new by the legendary Plant, Page and Jones, accompanied by the brilliant Jason Bonham, I feel indebted to Van Fleet. I hear the soundtrack of my youth in nearly every song I've heard by them. To me, they are continuing a great legacy while keeping it fresh.

Josh Kiszka sounds to me more like Geddy Lee of Rush, that kind of leprechaun sound. (As opposed to Bon Scott of ACDC which was more of a leprechaun with a sore throat sound) Not a huge fan, but this is a good song.
Robert Plant, on the other hand, went well into the upper ranges but maintained a mellowness that is unique.

You just stepped onto a tightrope, bro lol Most people either love them intensely, as I do, or hate them with every ounce of their being. I understand the initial Zeppelin comparisons. I heard five seconds of Highway Tune and chucked it out the window for that reason. I came upon this video and ate my shoe. I think a lot of that "Zeppelin sound" came from production, quite frankly. Josh's voice has got power and a range Robert Plant could only have ever dreamt of. Jake is a guitar god in the making. And THANK YOU for taking note of the bottom end here, they don't get nearly the attention they deserve for what they do. After being a fan for several years, I barely notice influences, they just sound like Greta. They're changing today's rock world. And they'll keep doing it. I hope you continue to check them out!

Great reaction, greta van fleet recently released a new album and have many good songs you could check out, they did a series called candlelight sessions when they perform live with a cool set up if you want to check those out, some great songs are black smoke rising, edge of darkness, broken bells, weight of dreams and many more

Where are you can look at one of the other older songs into darkness the fish video has an eight minute guitar solo by Jay and the majority of it he’s playing the guitar by behind his head like Hendrix, One of his idols he look at when they dress and what they’re doing there is no van camps close these days no one’s doing the stuff right now. They are absolute geniuses everyone of them

Highway tune and when the current falls was off of their first album well their second album the first album was just any P. Even on the EP in 2017 they were nominated for for Grammys and they took home one. At the time they were 19 and 21 years old. They formed the ban in 2012 when they were 13 and 15 respectively. Guitar player and the vocalist are identical twins in these videos they were probably 21 in the bass player in the drummer were 19. After establishing the loyal Fanbase that they had in the beginning in 2021 April they released their sophomore album, The battle at Gardens Gate, Often referred to as TBAGG. Craig Kirsten produced it it’s a masterpiece that’s not a bad song on it it is more Greta Van Fleet than anything else. Josh is vocal training is light-years away from what it was when they broke out in 2017. They had to cancel their prom dates to go on a world tour. Check Kiska the guitar player was voted best guitar player of 2021. Danny Wagner on the drums also received test drummer 2021. I can’t quote the sources for each of those of the top of my head right now b it should be easy to look up. These kids started when they were 12 in 15 years old respectively. Highway tune and when the curtain Falls was when they were 19 and 21 respectively. The new album when they were released they were 25 and 21 respectively. While the front man Josh Kiska and the guitar player Jake Kiska identical twins, the bass player Sam Keska is their younger brother by three years. And Danny Wagner on the drums has been Sam Kiska’s best friend since kindergarten. People ask if I can do it live I’ve been to two shows on the rail I cried the first entire time during the first show. The closest thing I’ve ever come to feeling Pentecostal. And is more than a band it’s a movement it’s a counter culture with a message. And peace and love and unity in a peaceful army. Your fans are some of the best in the world. Jake has been playing with Tara since he’s two years old. I can’t imagine being 25 and having played the guitar for 23 years already. They were all born to it absolutely boring to it. They evolution between them establishing themselves and their Fanbase with their first album a lot of which was written when they were 15 so that they can make the album they wanted to make which is the Battle at Barnes gate is Pure Greta Van Fleet despite any similarities the people keep wanting to throw in. I think you should check something out off of the new album to see the difference I would recommend beginning with heat above, or age machine but most of all I would say video for broken bells the candle light version live. Yes they have a lot of influence from everywhere but I’ll musician still they’ve taken it made it there own. Pieces of bands that they were inspired by when they were younger and added their own twist Sisley evolution where rock ‘n’ roll like that stopped. See them alive cell is now explaining it Jake will have like 9 1/2 minute guitar solos replace a guitar behind his head like Jimmy Hendrix it’s incredible. I would say start with broken bells half of the new record or maybe the weight of dreams. There is an a bad song on the next album I thought it was gonna rain Grammys and it turns out they didn’t submit any part of the record. Without us submitting any of it they weren’t up for any awards but I think they knew this entire record was a masterpiece and chose to have it be judged on its merits. It’s been kind of band comes a long once in a lifetime. So far the two songs that you looked at are off the record when they blew up in 2017 after highway tune they left high school early to go on a world tour. They are capable of is incredible. If you took one of the videos from a new album lined up against what you saw especially how much more control Josh has a voice and the vocal lessons that he’s singing the right way not to ruin it or staggering. Greta Van Fleet are juggernauts and they were destined to be expand they have a message. Please pick a song off the new album you can close your eyes and just pick up one without looking you can’t go wrong and to see their outfits now and the way they evolve during their time down during the pandemic and the fact that they’re doing some stuff that is really there’s wasn’t written when they were essentially kids. And have Greg Kurstin produce album who produces for like Adele did Foo Fighters concrete and Gold
Album well all the elements are there from inspiration they are not copying anybody they’ve blended it and they grew up on blues and Motown and didn’t even find Led Zeppelin until they were in high school. His grandparents and his father musicians too. Please pick any song off the new album I promise you they will blow your mind. Especially since you seen two of the earlier once the evolution between those and this is staggering there’s nowhere for them to go to the app and all they want to do is spread love everywhere you should try watching some interviews they are so articulate they’re so wise be on their ears as young as they are you have a hard time reconciling that with her intelligence and their presence. This is one of those bands comes around every 30 years they are not a flash in the pan and I have only begun. I’m begging you to do broken bells live the candlelight version or the weight of dreams just the audio. Or age of machine, or heat above. I promise you they will not disappoint. And then people ask well can they do it live for even better life I’ve been in the pit twice videos don’t come close to conveying what it is like to actually be there. All the records run together kind of there’s a theme and a story building off the first one I’m moving forward. Please continue checking out this band but definitely try to check out for some thing for my new album. When they signed with lava records they maintain all create a price they have to say on everything everything I see is them they wouldn’t sign with the label nice they were guaranteed absolute control. I know people myself included by finding them at the worst time I swear they actually saved our lives. Sounds matter for me this is true. I I was sleeping and they woke me up. You always I could hear them and I wanted to know what it was like feel found without feeling Everything I had muted. People say they’ve been here to say rock ‘n’ roll there’s some shoes in that but I think they’re here to save all souls people that have even know give us something lights on to be a part of. Please keep doing Greta reactions. And promise you they will not disappoint. Each song is more mind blowing than the last and then you try to get it out of your head around the fact that they started when they were 12 or 15 and then he sounded amazing back then before they were known there’s nowhere they go except for up. Watching history happen

GVF are very talented. Their new album , The Battle of Gardens Gate is awesome. Like all Rush albums, can not find a song on it I can say I do not enjoy. I can’t get Built by Nations out of my head. I'll give them credit for making original zep style music, original stuff is
always good, but imo the singer goes a bit overboard on the impression,
and also in some parts of the song his voice sounds more like a teen than
a robert plant voice. I have to wonder what the same song would be like with
    1990's Jack Russel singing it.
