Look at the smile on her face when heat above starts. The song often gives me tears of joy.
I'm 59 and convinced by my daughter to visit Greta van Fleet concert in Amsterdam. Glad I did! Since then I love all there is from them, can’t get enough
Thanks the first song was written when he was about 12 or 13 and recored at age 15. "HEAT ABOVE" was done about a year ago so about 8 or 9 years a part. They just keep getting BETTER. Thank You for your reaction.

Can't stop watching these reactions videos to GVF, just to see other people enjoying this incredible music. I think you're one of my favorites so far; just to see the delight and excitement in your smile, really adds to the atmosphere of the music. I'm sure you've figured out by now, but lead singer Josh Kiszka's voice is like a 96.5% match to Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. And the instrument you were SO close to naming at the open of Heat Above was the "organ" lol.
This band is from Frankfurt Michigan the singer and lead guitarist are twins and the Bass player is their baby brother the drummer is a childhood friend these guys have been compared to Led Zeppelin very cool band 😎
You can buy the vinyl!! The album is Battle at Gardens Gate and it is AMAZING!!!!! They have so many great songs. Since you are a guitar player, you should check out Weight of Dreams. Jake is a beast to be so young!! Super great guitar solo (long solo) I love the performance live @ Red Rocks. Any performance @ Red Rocks is unbelievable. Flower Power is another one. Also please watch Broken Bells live candlelight sessions, Tears of Rain live, Built by Nations live VEVO, Black Smoke Rising, Safari Song, Age of Man, Age of Machine, and you will really enjoy When the Curtain Falls. I love watching people when they hear them for the first time. We saw them live in August and they have so much talent & energy. Thank you for the reaction. Heard this song 2 days ago while driving in Queensland Australia, only way I knew who they were was my new car digital radio displayed band and song name , absolutely a huge fan, and your reaction vid is the best I have seen .....Loved watching it .....kracka
Greta Van Fleet is special, I too discovered them entirely randomly because of their tour with The Pretty Reckless, and instantly loved their old school rock sound and of course the singer's voice! It was equally amazing live, very cool band!

When I first heard these guys a while back, I thought Led Zepplin reborn. They are 3 brothers and a buddy from the same high school. They named the band after an older lady from ther home town. Checkout the song 'When the curtain falls'.
Lots of rock singers are up in that tenor range because it gets up and over the other instruments. Same for battalion leaders in the Roman Legions. Sonically it pierces through almost everything.

Great reaction, I only knew the name of the band but never listened to them. "Heat above" is fantastic and a trip down the memory lane. I forgot how great 70s rock can be. Thank you for reminding me and please continue to explore different bands and genres. Your reactions make it fun to discover new music and listen to it without/less prejudice.

I discovered this Fantastic Group in their hometown of Frankenmuth, Michigan 6 years ago. Their lates album on vinyl , Battle at Garden's Gate ,is magnificent.

Sounds like a Hammond organ with the tremolo engaged.
The lead singer has been compared to Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, based on their early work (first song). But when an interviewer asked about that, he panicked (IMHO) and denied that Plant influenced him, that he just did it to make himself heard. Plant's reaction was like, "Well, I was thinking of reaching out to him, but if that's the case, there's no need." He sounded sad and I felt that too.
But since then he has seemingly worked to develop more facets to his style, as in the second song. Which is a good thing.
I gotta say the rest of the band excels too. The guitarist is a standout.
BTW, when they played the South By SouthWest festival near Austin Texas for the first time, the guitarist was showing off playing the guitar behind his head and got his long hair tangled in the strings. A roadie (?) ran out and disentangled him so he could move the instrument back in front of him... but in all that, he continued playing and never missed a note!
Wonderful band of talented brothers including Danny though not really a brother. You should react to other songs of theirs. Stardust Chords or built by nations from the recent album or when the curtain falls or Age of man from their previous album. They never disappoint! Love your channel.
You should try *The Warning* - 3 sisters whose music has roots in the 1970s (like Greta van Fleet) but with grunge and punk and even some k-pop influences mixed in. 'Evolve', 'Disciple', and 'Animosity' are some of their new stuff.
Definitely recommend you check out The Warning, they are amazing musicians and even better people. you will not find a filler or skippable song in their discography. They are also label mates with GVF

When I read the name I was thinking it must be a swedish girl but his voice is good the first song reminds me of led zeppelin then second when he put gravel in his voice so good

Close your eyes and you would almost swear it's a Led Zepplin song he sounds just like a young Robert Plant . I mean that in the best way cause i love 'em both. Just like Robert Plant he uses his voice as his instrument .

Please check out Glenn Hughes (the voice of rock).He was in Deep Purple 1973-1976 on bass and backing / additional lead vocals, and in many other bands after that.. Both songs were first rate. First song sounded to me like Led Zeppelin. The second song sounded stunningly similar to Rush.

When I first heard these guys, when this record came out, I could not stop talking about them. My wife and kids were like “are you done yet.” NO! You don’t understand what’s going on here!! Unfortunately, the constant comparisons to Zeppelin, I feel, kept them stuffed under the radar. They should be a household name, but they’re not. And they need a better drummer.

They are a dreadful parody of Zeppelin. Accomplished musicians but little more than a tribute band. The lyrics to that second song wouldn’t make it beyond the 5th form common room. Horrific.

Whether I am in a successful band , an unsuccessful band or not in a band at all has no relevance. Expertise is not required to form a view . Few people are experts in Politics but in a democracy they get a vote and the opportunity to express a view which is all I did. I don’t hate anyone by the way.
