Love Greta Van Fleet's retro rock sound! Three brothers and lifelong friend. They're so young and talented and just keep getting better with each album!

Been following these boys since 2017 when I was 17 and they were 19-21 so it feels like I grew up with them

I am so glad that now that Young people had/have a chance to here Greta Van Fleet. A lot of there music style comes from there parents music collection and that is kinda how they play music. And even now the days of being called a Led Zeppelin & Rush copycat band are now gone. They have found there element.

Yes I need to delve into more of their stuff as this is still the only song I know - well I watched Justin Hawkins react to a song of theirs but I can’t remember it now 😂 yes they are who they are - comparisons are just opinions anyway and each opinion is individual… what one person hears is not what another does and that’s the beauty of it … no right no wrong … I love that ✌️ defo gonna listen to more of their stuff 😀 thanks for commenting - appreciate that 🙏
I love these guys (3 brothers and a childhood friend). They grew up listening to their parents’ eclectic vinyl collection so they have a lot of roots and classic influences. They are fantastic live. For their live work, I’d suggest their Red Rocks concert (professionally recorded and released in parts) and their candlelight sessions. As to their look, Elton John gave them advice when he had them perform at his Grammy Awards Party…Elton told them to flaunt what they have and they took that advice and ran with it. I like that they are putting on a show but still performing at a high level.

No, these guys are the real deal they’ve been together since their teens. Do a review of their candlelight series videos and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Idk if its just me but I get a lot more Queen, Rush, Deep Purple from them than Led Zeppelin

@@TheSomaticSinger thank you!! As fans we get so tired of people trying to compare them to other bands! A lot of bands sound like other bands I don't see why it matters to some people so much. People seem to do it to them more because of the whole Led Zeppelin connection they think is here. Greta is just Greta and I wish more would just let him be Greta. Thank you again
They got that label when they first came out, both because , when they were kids in high school and just started their band, they DID cover allot of Zeppelin when they played locally, and because of Highway Tune and Safari off their first record…….it immediately reminded people of Robert Plant, because we hadn’t heard such lovely screams in a good long while. Now, however, they’ve gotten their own sound.. They do strike me as having echoes of Queen.., specifically in their visual presentation, and Rush…in that Josh Kiszka sounds now allot more like Geddy than Plant. But at this point they are NOBODY’S cover band.
All of the music from Greta would fit into the 70s. BTW it was Elton John who on meeting them in their early teen days suggested they glam up a bit - and since then we have great outfits but a brilliant. He uses his head voice wonderfully and his breath control is astounding. Watch the Candelight Sessions,

@@TheSomaticSinger Oh, I can strongly suggest you listen to much more. Candelight Sessions - the songs there are beautiful and played with orchestra. And then you should watch "Heat Above", Age o of Machine', and there is a clip of Age of Man live which is awesome. Once you start the journey I am sure you will love them and please remember it is about the four talented guys and not just Josh, although his voice is quite stunning. If you don't know. Josh and Jake who plays guitar are twins, Sam is two years younger and is their brother, playing bass and keyboards and Danny is the drummer, who is a close friend, being Sam's age. They are just wonderful. Enjoy the journey.

Oh wow ! You've done it now, you have just brushed the very tip of a titanic sized iceberg, you are about to fall down a rabbit hole into the wonderful fantastic world of GVF. Enjoy the ride there is so much to experience. But start at the beginning with Highway Tube and come forward to present. This track is from The Battle At Gardens Gate which is a stellar album. We are all now waiting for Starcatcher due out in July. I'm in the UK, they are over here as part of a world tour in November. Wembley. Manchester Glasgow & Dublin. The very best of GVF is their live performance, Go !

Josh (singer) & Jake (guitar) are identical twins. Sam (organ) Is their 3 yrs younger brother & Danny (drums) have been best friends since 1st grade!

You have to listen to Light My Love. The chorus is ridiculous! If you listen to one of their brand new songs like Sacred the Thread or Meet the Master, you can hear how much he has worked on his voice. It has gotten even better!! Hard to believe, right????

Really fun reaction, there's a fair bit of Rush in there as well as Led Zeppelin, but Greta are a breath of fresh air for an ageing eclectic metalhead like myself. I heartily recommend Nightwish (Ghost Love Score live at Wacken) or something by Electric Callboy (We Got The Moves or Hypa Hypa) to react to on the rockier end of the spectrum.

I Love Greta
This song is transcendent. It is my favorite one to indoctrinate people to GVF. I actually recommend people start with The Battle at Gardens Gate or Starcatcher then work backwards. Their early stuff is phenomenal but they have evolved so much and who they are now is who they should be. They were so very young when they put out their first album.
