🙏🏻 Thank you so much❤🎉
@DrumeoOfficial It would be great if you could get Perrin Moss of Hiatus Kaiyote pleassssseee
Thanks for finally posting this. Ive been waiting. 🤙🥃
Oh man thank you ALL SO much. Everyone that was involved in making this a reality, thank you. Brann, man, I've been following your progress for almost 2 decades and I so admire your willingness to write good songs. I can't wait to binge watch this tonight 🤙🏻Woo!!
Can you Drumeo contact Brad Delson, Linkin Park drummer, to him show us some talent, please 🙂
He can flickity-flam them drums better that anyone - Brent Hinds
😂 love Brent he my spirit animal LOL
You're damn right he can!!!!
Dirty B Hinds ain't lyin
*Dirty B. Hinds
Why is Mastodon always late to the show?
Cause Brent Hides
There best be a "Brann hears x for the first time"..... I'm waiting for it!
He's probably heard it all haha
Yeah would be awesome. But you're probably right that he has heard everything.
I need that
Dude puts fills in his fills. love it.
Word.
The understatement of all understatements lol
And it always sounds fuckin amazing, he’s gotta be one of the busiest drummers ever but somehow the drums always sound absolutely perfect with the rest of the music. Man is a genius and a fuckin legend and for me the most fun drummer ever to listen to.
The madlads actually had him perform The Last Baron
I cant believe it but YES THEY FUCKING DID.
I love that you can tell when he plays it by just looking at the lengths of the video's sections lmao
It was his idea!
"i don't even remember what I'm going to play"
Well you said you wanted to play The Last Baron
"oh dammit"
And he killed it. Masterpiece
One of the most unique drummers in the game. I've never heard anyone that sounds quite like him
What game?
@@adriantrusca1245 Game called music.
@@adriantrusca1245asking the heavy hitting questions
@@logansmithers5480 What asking?
No drummer plays like Brann.
Here we goooo! Thanks for hanging, Brann!
Thanks Brandon you guys are killing it.
I'm sure you got many greats on the way. Please get Matt Halpern if you can. He's a teacher so I think he would be excellent for this format
Brandon needs to bring Mario duplantier here sometimes dude
Love the attention you guys are bringing to drumming!
Holy crap!!!!!
Don't get me wrong, everyone in Mastodon is great, but this guy is like 90% of the reason I listen to them. His drumming is so hypnotically impressive that I can't stop paying attention to it whenever I listen to Mastodon's music.
That's the best description of his playing style ive ever heard.THe sigle stroke with right playing half time was nice.
Also not to mention he's got the best voice as well
That and the other guys too.
As a guitarist the guitars are what first hooked me to Mastodon. But after that first hook I've become SUCH a big fan of Brann. Without him I think Mastodon would be missing one of their tusks.
@@tobytaylor5321 Bill and Brent are a fuckin legendary duo, their playing paired with Brann’s incredible and unique drumming and you’ve got a fuckin all timer of a band there. a band that sounds like nobody else before them and a band that nobody else after will ever sound like. A truly unique and special band, can’t forget the 3 completely different sounding lead vocalists also, what a special band
This man committed to being an incredible drummer and ONE hairstyle and it’s worked flawlessly for Decades
Nice :)
Agreed. 🤘🤘
He looks like a punk skater Tintin and I love it
@@helgijonsson3537 That's too good. 😂🤣
Watching him play The Last Baron is mesmerizing. Just incredible.
Im watching and crying of joy
Only thing that could have made that better would be Brent appearing for his solo to close it out . One of my favourite songs by them.
@@jofvenom I had the same watching it live and again now :')
Holy shiiit
What a treat.
Bro I love how drumeo is like "Hey Brann, we need capillarian crest real quick" what a legendary song.
I love it. Brilliant
Bran: No problem fam
I know right dude 😎🤘🔥😆 I was like oh shit it's about to get technical up in here.
Was surprised to see this. Blood Mountain was my first listen and first love. Then Crack the Skye came and it just took off. Leviathan is their best, though, IMO.
That was insane.
I think I speak for everyone when I say this;
FINALLY!
Yass 🥹
Having "The Last Baron" performance with this quality and attention to detail is just a gift, thank you Drummeo!
Holy shiiit
I literally shed tears... such a treat
This is how I felt about getting capillarian crest in this video, shit is glorious and hard as fuck
I've always admired Brann's "overplaying" and straightforward approach. One of the best metal drummers ever!
No doubt, definitely one of the busiest drummers out there but somehow it always ends up sounding amazing, he’s a really unique drummer. Dude is a total legend
This guy's endurance has always shocked me 😮
The man is a fucking athlete. Insane.
He opens with Capillarian and barely breaks a sweat. Hes 20 years older than me and I have to take a nap after poorly attempting to play that song😂
Seriously. Wolf is Loose takes so much gas to get through
During a tour a few years ago they did a calorie count while he played and he burned about 900 calories in a set. Unbelievable endurance
efficiency is key. not endurance. he doesn't play hard, he plays efficiently.
I could watch this dude play and talk about his music all day long. He’s such a genuine dude, I would’ve killed to have spent this hour in the same building
Agreed! A lot of times when artists are telling the story of how a song or technique or whatever came to be, I get bored pretty quickly. But something about the way Brann tells the story just stays interesting.
I think of Mastodon as a band, where Bill and Troy are the rhythm section, and Brent and Brann are playing lead. When the guitars are keeping the pace, Brann can flickety-flam all over the place and bring the danger and excitement.
The most musical single stroke rolls you'll ever hear. Listening to Brann it's such a pleasure. He's such a drummer's drummer.
No he's not.
Yeah is go home
@@inconnectormuch wow. Much insight.
@@inconnector your music sucks ass
He's really not a drummers drummer. Nothing fits that role with him. He's truly an artist.
Can't believe he played "the Last Baron" here!!! Amazing.
I got into Mastodon with The Czar. I’m one of the weirdos that likes more the slower trippier side of Mastodon. Even their faster stuff is very musical. I have to say that Hushed and Grim is an unbelievable album. The melodies on there blew me away. This video made me realize how much Branns drumming goes along with the melody and guitar playing. That’s why he’s so unique. Plus wow what insane stamina the guy has. He’s like an Olympic athlete!
You're not weird, the metalheads just haven't learned to appreciate some of the finer sides of the band
@@ileutur6863What? The Czar and the Last Baron are literally some of Band‘s most appreciated songs, at least within the core fanbase (for good reason)
The Czar is the song. Hearing it live was one of the highlights when I saw them. Beautiful song and Brann’s drumming on it is exceptional 👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘
No Crack the Skye is their best album, I'm with you.
Hes one of the few drummers i have ever come across that deliberately over plays and has successfully incorporated it into his style. It doesnt come off as "showy" even though hes putting drum fills on his breakfast. It just works so well. Incredible drummer
Capillarian Crest right out of the gate! 🎉 🔥
Loved that ! Hoped for some more earlier stuff but oh well.
@@Nebuloid1 Iron Tusk!
@@Nebuloid1 im honestly super surprised there was not a single remission or leviathan song here. They did just release an individual video for steambreather yesterday so maybe they got some more playthrough videos they plan to release, hopefully we get something from remission or leviathan because the drums on those albums are glorious
My god. Watching Brann absolutely crush The Last Baron has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Thank you, Drumeo.
This is amazing. Brann came prepared and is taking this very seriously. Sometimes I feel like some of the guests Drumeo highlights often are just messing around. That's fine, but it is great to see an artist really getting into their catalogue and trying difficult songs. This is just mesmerizing. Thanks Brann, Drumeo and Brandon. This one is legendary.
Drumeo sounding better than albums always boggles my mind.
Underrated comment!!!
The fucking kick drum on this 😵😵💫
To be fair, they have tons of mics, rooms treated specifically for drums. The engineers do ONLY drums all day every day. There’s probably $50k worth of mics for them to choose from.
I mean it doesn't sound better per say, it just sounds louder, giving the drums more protagonism.. but our brains always think louder = Better.
@@nicknorton7132 that snare is sick asf
Mastadon is probably one the most talented group of musicians we have today
What brought me to Mastodon was….you guessed it, Rush. Brann stands out amongst every metal and prog rock drummer I’ve ever listened to. I see heavy Keith Moon influence on his playing, but his playing also has orchestrated chaos in it, love it man.
Bro you nailed it. He's like Keith Moon playing Neil Peart's stuff.
@@TheUncleshady exactly what I thought the first time I listened to his playing.
You guessed it, Frank Stallone.
Down to the YYZ homage in the break
Brann dailor is genuinely one of the most down the earth musicians I've ever seen considering he has such creativity and efficiency behind a kit. Oh and he's also just an absolute fucking groove monster 💀🤠
What a gift to not only have him on drumeo but performing The Last Baron??? That was cherry on top!!!!
Brann is a BEAST, the wolf is loose
The wolf IS loose 🤘🥵
"Capillarian Crest" it´s just a mind-blowingly hard and tecnical drum song, and it´s AWESOME!!!
Phenomenal song, people always say Wolf is loose is hard but I feel like they haven't analyzed capillarian crest, genuinely harder both technically and more exhausting
@@harku123what's wild about this is that during it he catches himself rushing it a couple times.
This is like watching a music documentary... well, it will be for the future generations. This band has of the most excellent musicians.
I’m not even a drummer but I love watching this content! One of the best channels in RUclips!
Hey if you don't mind me asking, what is it about drumeo that makes you wanna watch it if you're not a drummer? I always wondered
@@harku123I’m a guitarist, and I love watching drumeo vids.
@@harku123 its diverse, its well edited, fun to watch our favorite drummers talk about music and that amazing instrument.
same. I dont drum at all. played bass as a hobby for years, never anything serious. pretty much gave it up though a couple years ago. Love watching the drummers of all my favorite bands talk about stories of their journeys, just a little bit more raw and candid than a standard interview.
I don’t play any instruments but love music. And I love Mastodon and Drumeo! I appreciate how amazingly talented these musicians are and love the passion and effort put forth in their craft! It’s inspiring !!
Love how calm Brann is when playing Last Baron.
I was working at Best Buy when Leviathan came out. I never heard of the bad, but looked at the cd cover art and purchased it. Dailor instantly became one of my favorite drummers.
It's my favorite album of theirs so I bought the vinyl, it's absolutely gorgeous
@@MrJorge3010 I bought a mate the heavyweight vinyl gatefold version as a birthday gift. The artwork & design was absolutely stunning. CD was nice, sure, but that was next level.
@@hairychris444 I have the "gold nugget" edition, but I know they have a lot of different versions
I started playing drums because of Brann 18 years ago, still playing ever since. Dude is a legend!
Also nice to hear that they were into His Hero is Gone and Tragedy and stuff!
I got into Mastodon because of Brann’s singing in Emperor of Sand. He sings and writes awesome choruses
Brann so chill while unleashing Armageddon 🥁
Most waited drummer of one of the greatest band of all time is here, how exciting. Mastodon sounds like it is titled. Powerful and uncompromising. Waiting for great experience. Thanks Drumeo for such a great guests. I am guitar player , but watch more videos about drumming and your channel is on my top, never miss any video. Thanks and good luck)
never thought I'd get to see a play through of The Last Barron of all songs....what a song!
Nothing spectacular drumwise though
Drumeo Sound engineers tried to convey the full picture of Brann, thank you, his involvement and full dedication will remain in history with good quality
His sense of humor is next level like his drumming
what a phenomenal human being, his singing is iconic and will live for years to come, I love all the vocals in Mastodon equally, Troy is like C'thulu from the depths, Brann is like a neon rainbow god hovering over the ocean and Brent comes from the heavens like a fallen angel
His influences are all over his playing, like jazz. That makes him such a unique drummer
I hear Collins in heavy form, i think he wouldnt mind, I believe he also likes Genesis
All the best rock drummers have jazz backgrounds! Brann, Danny Carey, Jimmy Chamberlain, etc!
this dude is the main reason i like Mastodon.
I like that he uses all parts of the drum heads not a single inch wasted
Mastodon has always been in my top list of bands that I love to listen to just for the journey of having different leaders to get us through the songs. One thing that makes them stand out even more as a band is the fact that Brann can not only sing, but also in some tracks take the role of the lead instrument, making the whole band sound so much more dynamic.
Brann has unique style of playing drums. Those complex and frequent fills are party for my ears.
The reason I love Mastodon is Brann's vocals. Always incredibly tasteful vocal melody writing and a beautiful tenor singing voice.
This is a guy you hear and know immediately that it Brann Dailor. If you haven’t seen Mastodon live you ought to, it's crazy inspiring.
Brann, Joey(RIP) and Chris were the big three drummers of the new wave of heavy metal movement back in the 2000s.
One of the best drummers out there, criminally underrated, this guy is a BEAST. Love Mastodon, ATL ATL ATL
Brann is not only hilarious, but has an instantly recognizable drum sound that sets him apart from all other drummers. Blazing fast single stroke drum fills and patterns syncopated with the guitar riffs that often times creates the most beautiful controlled chaos you'd ever want to hear. As a singing drummer myself, when asked how do I sing and play at the same time, I simply say "The drumming is on auto pilot, muscle memory is doing it's thing, I'm just focusing on singing in key". Love the Dead Zone reference. Great movie, and Precious on the bass drum head...hilarious!
When I first got into mastodon years ago I thought to myself, how the hell does that drummer remember all those fills!! I’ve loved watching mastodon evolve and am very happy for them! 🤘🏼
Being technical n intricate while being effective, keeping it soulful is quite rare, mastodon are special
Finally, the man! I'm not a drummer, but damn, i can watch Brann playing for hours.
I had the pleasure of meeting Brann. Absolutely one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.
In terms of musical depth and instrument virtuosity, I believe no other group comes close to Mastodon, and especially Brann Dailor is incredible on the drums. He not only has mastered them and their essence in music, but also adds the much needed gentleness and fragile, vulnerable emotion with his vocals. The way Mastodon tackles trauma, pain, and their negative emotions to create music is, to me at least, unique and not something I find in any other genre, singer or musician.
I feel the same. In a whole, they're the icing that holds everything together. Brann just helps complete the cake. 😌🤘🤘
Oh my god!!! Brann Dailor in the studio, the best metal drummer of our time!
Everything about the drumming on The Last Baron, from complexity to length, is mind-blowing.
SO stoked you did The Last Baron. The fill at 00:24:38 is my all time favourite Brann fill, can clearly remember the first time I heard when Crack the Skye as released. Starting before the end of one bar, the way he fills up the entire next bar, the kick drum/crash triplets at the end. So heavy, seemingly simple but so damn effective and awesome
There was a drummer who preceded Brann by a few years, his name was Reed Mullin (R.I.P.) who also ripped a lotta fills from outta nowhere for no reason but to rock. Reed played for COC and I feel like the man is unmentioned too often. Anyway, I love Brann and I love Drumeo. Seriously. DRUMEO has gotta be one of the biggest RUclips success stories of all time.
Reed was incredible. “Blind” is one of my favorite drum albums, awesome stuff.
what!? had no idea. cool connection. love COC. doubt are there any recordings or video?
Truly one of the GREATEST musicians of our time man. Truly refined, calculated but oozes with personality in his drumming. So easy to get lost listening to his work with how intricate it is yet it ALL FITS. There is no over filling, no excess just complete optimization of time.
Brann is one of my favorite drummers of all time. I could watch him play all day. Thanks for this Drumeo!
Mastodon before 7am. Yes please.
What has always stood out to me about Branns' drumming is the richness of his toms. Instantly recogniseable.
What poor soul had to transcribe all those fills? 😂 so stoked for this one. Brann's approach to the hi-hat was always so intriguing to me. He has this feel of pushing through the song that's so unique. One of my top 5 favorite bands. Josh Eppard next please!
AT LAST!
Was so gutted this cut out on me live a few weeks ago.
What a thumper.
What a legend. Those snare triplets! Motherload was sick.
This is what I’ve been waiting for. Such a massive F’ing Mastodon fan. Love Brann so much. He’s incredible. So glad you had him. Please have him on more!
Damn, I Love Brann so much. My favorite part about Mastodon is how unique each of their voices are. I cant think of another band like that except The Beatles

Simply the greatest drummer of his generation. A phenomenal talent.
It's amazing to see how in the Last Baron some fills connects directly with the vocals, like he's singing with the drums.
The way he plays is the perfect controlled chaos. Great drummer!
Saw Mastodon open for Gojira at the Forum, Brann is a beast. What an incredible drummer/singer. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻Hey Drumeo, get Mario Duplantier 👍🏻
Don't think they "opened " for gojira, it was a tour they did together. Both headliners.

Ascending fill. Very cool.
My life is complete! God I wish this was 3 hours longer, Thank you Drumeo and Brann.
His playing blows my mind.
Crazy good. The way he can deliver the energy AND sit in the song is just awesome.
The most creative drumming I've ever heard. Would be incredible to have him performing an unfamiliar drumless song to watch his creativity live
As a drummer, I instantly try to analyze his gear, and hey... He has his rack toms mounted upside down🙃 WOW, never seen that before!
An absolute masterclass for drumming talent. Such a pleasure to see Brann on Drumeo!
I've been lucky enough to have been watching Brann play drums since 1993, long before he was in Mastodon, just playing small bars in Rochester, NY with his death metal band Lethargy. 31 years later and I'm still amazed by his playing and never get tired of watching him. I'm glad this video is finally up!

Had the privilege to see mastodon with gojira and Lorna shore last year at the forum. I have to tell ya one of the best shows I've beheld. It was my first time seeing gojira and mastodon, also first time seeing Lorna but I was mainly there to see mastodon and gojira. Knocked it off my bucketlist

The guy is so original, his tricks and groove never stop to amaze me.
Brann is one of my favorite drummers. I love how he follows the riffs for his fills. Really interesting perspective!
Awesome drummer. Thanks for inviting him Drumeo!
Thanks! Brann is one of my favourite drummers of all time. One of my fondest live memories as at a festival in Finland way back, when Lamb of God and Mastodon did back to back sets. Awesome stuff!
Made me want to fix up more my use of hands rather than feet while playing metal- I saw him live in Bogotá almost 6 months ago ever since listening to them 10 years ago for the first time. I love his voice and his approach to drumming- he's absolutely amazing and energetic.
Absolutely lost my mind when I got the notification for this video, single-handedly (double handedly?) one of the main inspirations for me picking up the sticks and one of the most unique and musical drummers out there.
