I'm a drummer myself, been in a few bands (although not currently), and I loved hearing great bass playing as it really can get you in the groove for the song. One of my own favorites was N.I.B by Black Sabbath.
Nice shout out to Lost Woman! The first version I heard was a live version by James Gang! Really kickass! Everyone took a solo! It was like 23 minutes long, lol.
A great bass line can really gird a song's bottom end and create a foundation for a solid and memorable groove. Some of my favorite bass lines of all-time... "Another One Bites The Dust" -- Queen "N.I.B." -- Black Sabbath "She" -- Kiss "Cities On Flame" -- Blue Oyster Cult "Believer" -- Ozzy Osbourne
In a synch, the big 3 of the bass are: Steve Harris, Teddy Lee, and Geezer Butler. In my book, they are THE reason we have so many amazing bassist over the decades!!!
I have a beef with Geezer. I was supposed to see Sabbath (with opener Quiet Riot) in the fall of 1983 in Vancouver with my dad, they were his all time favourite band even with Ian Gillan on Born Again, but Geezer had a bout of bronchitis and they cancelled the show. I never got to see Sabbath live, my dad however took his girlfriend to Vegas a couple weeks later to see them and left me in Vancouver because of school. I'm still pretty upset about missing that show with my dad.
The last one by Sami; Is he playing Money by Roger Waters of Pink Floyd? I'm a drummer although not really a big Pink Floyd fan but that song instantly popped into my head. The only Pink Floyd song I know how to play is Time, the Wrathchild America metal cover version of it.
Mis líneas de bajo favoritas que me inspiraron a tocar el bajo son: Catupecu machu - calavera deforme Cabezones - a tus pies Limp Bizkit - re-arranged and clunk Tool - schism and 46 & 2 Mudvayne - death blooms.
The way the guy in the mask plays The Number of The Beast looks painful! How he flattens his middle finger to play a note while holding another.....weird!
Is a decent player/performer, sings well and plays what is fitting for the songs in my opinion. Nothing extraordinary to be honest, i did learn some kiss songs in bass and are fun to play but creativity wise are very average.
@@prunepurple Ace and Paul wrote/recorded many of the bass lines on early Kiss records. Later on it was Bruce Kulick and even Mike Porcaro from Toto who recorded bass tracks. Billy Sheehan, Frankie Bello, David Ellefson, Tye Trujillo, ....and Frankie did mention the Holy Trinity. Subjective indeed....but the aforementioned 4 players are all solid and relevant ...Trujillo is gonna be better than his dad one day....

Whats the song he talked about?
Lost woman by The Yardbirds.

Greatest bassline in all metal apart from Steve Harris's 'To Tame A Land'
🤘😈🤘

The Yardbirds 🤘 "Roger the engineer"
One of my favorite albums, ever!
Just sayin, Steve Harris does the gallop With 2 fingers.
yeah, lots of people still think it's with three, even after the man himself states... "yeah, nah... it's only two"
Always played Maiden stuff with 2. Serets in the Accenting
I just saw him live, and i now have my doubts if he does it with one 😅
Steve's right hand is unreal
@ -- I'm gonna hit up The Slow Mo Guys and have them pay ol' Steve a visit so we can settle this mystery once and for all

"No Friends"!
@ Amoeba tops my list.
@@stevenfrischling5908 Kids of the Black Hole for me! One of the records I learned to play drums with. I still have my vinyl copy!
Ive never heard the song but Pearl Jam totally ripped that riff off on rearviewmirror
Hey! some love for Cronos!! VENOM rocks!
Frankie played the Innocent Exile bass riff in this i think. Im not sure, but i know i saw him play it and that helped me learn it.
Thank You Frank!
It was killers
It was somewhere else i saw it then.
Jason Newsted is my influence
I once attempted to play Steve Harris 's bass part for To Tame A Land and all my fingers fell off my hands. I'm typing this with my toes.
😂
Appreciate the Di’Anno era Iron Maiden stuff 👍
Mike Watt, now that’s a helluva bass player.
Dude with mask is the man
I will never feel bad about my string buzz again. Thanks guys!
Some of the best players are kind of sloppy, listen to recordings where they isolate the bass.
"Learn to do the steve harris gallop" proceeds to do it with 3 fingers 😢
