@@AnnaLVajda i was thinking the Scarlett OHara thing as well. Don "The Human Torch" Cherry is the best. He went out the only way he could and we love him for it
@@jaredlosier7688 same here. 10 years later and our beloved Don is covered in flames like the Human Torch screaming "and if you don't like it LEAVE, so buy the damn poppy you ingrates"
When they started looking at the drapery and upholstery fabric, I laughed, but then remembered that I made my high school prom dress from drapery fabric. Later in the clip I realized that my dress was in fact the same print as Don Cherry's suit except green rather than pink.
I was reading about the time Don threw out the first pitch at the Jays game in 2016 for getting everyone to vote Josh Donaldson into the allstar game. After when he was relaxing with a cold pop in his suite he heard roars of laughter from the crowd and on the Jumbo-tron was a game being played. "Couch or Don Cherry suit?" They would show a close-up of fabric and everyone would be shouting if it was a 70's couch or a Don Cherry suit. Then it would zoom out and be the reveal. Grapes was laughing, he even got some of them wrong!
I love hearing Grapes on Coach's Corner. Because I'm a New Jersey guy I watch CC before I go to work on RUclips. Don is a very unique and awesome commentator that I always enjoy.
wohoo that is a cool suit ..funky...there are actually pretty good fabric drape because of the different material and texture and design it has.Great for costuming.
@@christianstarke1117 As angry as I am and as much as I love Don and coaches corner, let's be fair... It's a different broadcasting company and that lady came on and apologized. If Don would have just read a scripted apology then he'd still have his job and we'd still have coaches corner.
Cherry was referring to downtown Toronto which half of the people down there need a translator to survive and couldn't pick out a poppy in a flower line up.He was 100% correct with what he said.
That collection comment below is spot on... after all is said and done, I bet someone WILL create a museum for Don Cherry, and at least one wing of it should be dedicated to his suits and ties etc...
4:39 There ya go, Rick called it 11 years ago
John Doe ok boomer
TheOddCanadian I’m not a Boomer I’m 18 actually
People say that Don hates immigrants and Frankie does his suits. The poor guy was set up. I hope he comes back

Not a lot of people can pull off wearing a pink suit. This guy absolutely owns it.
Wow.. Don predicted it would be a ball of flames
Great balls of fire. Scarlett O'Hara wore drapes too.
Rick said it first
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that CBC had been trying to get rid of Don for a long ass time.
@@AnnaLVajda i was thinking the Scarlett OHara thing as well. Don "The Human Torch" Cherry is the best. He went out the only way he could and we love him for it
Rick knew it, I think everyone kinda knew it was going to be a ball of flames... 😕
Don is the only man who could go on Rick’s show and upstage him entirely
Rick is amazing, I would never be able to do a cohesive interview w Cherry lmao
This entire thing as aged wonderfully 😂
This comment was 100% what I was about to post.
Especially the very end

That suit paired with the Car at "3:07-3:13" is priceless. Rock on Mr. Cherry!
This has to be the first time I\ve ever seen Rick struggle to get the upper hand
Don is just so ridiculous, this was a hilarious episode. "Don't tell me this is drapes material" "Couch?! That's beautiful"
I love both of these guys. Funny how true this show was
It's a gold member card. That means he pays for a 3 year membership and saves money!
Best Don Cherry ever!! You are the best God bless you!
"I dont know whether to shake your hand or kiss ya" - Don Cherry
That was incredible.
I lost it at "This is for drapes"
Thanks for making me get snot on the screen.
Cherry should have said, "What, I thought it said "Grapes.""
Gross
What a perfect match these two. So funny.
Don Cherry needs his own TV show.
There's such an overdose of swag in this video.
Loved this. I will miss that old bugger.
This is one of my favourite videos of both Mercer and Cherry. Don Cherry is a true original.
4:42 Oh the irony of that question back in 2008. It took 11 more years for it to happen.
But I believe that he'll be back, in one way or another.
CoroaEntertainment it took over 30 yrs tho! He only lost his job cause Sportsnet is bleeding cash and millennials were crying on Twitter
Always my favorite . How time has erased all wonderful people. Don and Rick for true leaders.
Love those drapes on Grapes! The man the myth and the legend!

Two great Canadian Icons and Legends. These two should team up and do a TV show together.

Not long ago I upholstered a chair. That same week Don was wearing the same fabric on Hockey Night in Canada.
I gotta tell ya; I do love his jackets.
I absolutely love Grapes!!!
Grapes never fails to be entertaining. Ever!
I always thought Don was the great hunter of retro 60's/70's sofas, and skinned them for their precious pelts.
I know where that fabric land is, it's on Winston Churchill boulevard, North of Dundas street in Mississauga, Ontario
i wonder how much business Don has brought to fabricland
Yep, it's close to where he lives
Correct. I've seen him in there. Its moved across the street now.
Rick and Don. Two of the greatest Canadians ever.
