I met Jean Chretien last Sunday in the airport in Toronto!!! I was SO excited! No one around him. he had his boarding pass, etc. no line up. I HAD to engage!!!! He was SO polite, asked me where I was from, going, etc... I didn't want to be so bold, as to ask him the same questions. I was just delighted, that he was happy to meet a fellow Canadian!!!
He was a great PM. Nothing beat the day when he was asked where Nunavut was and his reply was "Uhhhh it's in between some of it and all of it." lmao I'll never forget that.

I remember him saying he was going to decriminalize marijuana ... the crowd gasped .. and his response was "hey, dont start smoking right away"... (-_-) lol ... now that it has actually been legalized in Toronto ... I see him as a political pioneer .... down to earth guy who valued his wife's opinion over his own career .... in my mind he was the last real prime minister Canada ever had ... everyone after him was/is substitute teachers
