It would be great if you could make a video in which you compare the existing volumetric scattering solutions on the market (including the HDRP built-in solution) and come up with some KPIs regarding performance, features and usability in terms of cons and pros. There are several volumetric scattering solutions on the market, but I believe AURA and HX Volumetrics should definitelly be on the list of comparison.
HDRP is constantly changing/too fluid and impossible to work with. Asset developers have given up on trying to keep their assets up to date and working with HDRP. I mean thanks, but let's just pick something and get it stable. Hoping that URP will get there eventually...
I don't find this true anymore. Microsplat, Enviro, Vegetation Studio, ect. All work with the current HDRP. I did have to be patient for a long time while I waited for HDRP to come out of preview, but now that it is, devs are jumping on board.
@@tomhaswell6283 Microsplat is a true nightmare,,as if I,you accidentallly choose non HDRP package you can't go back easily if at all. Sure it looks nice once installed, but there is no UN install backing it a nightmare, and OP has bedside manners of a rock- I expected more honestly. So no, it does NOT work well if by chance one misses fact there are TwO versions,and if you call that jumping on board, you must be impressed easilly.
tutorial would be great if I had the same settings in my gameobject tab. nothing more fustrating than not being able to do the thing you watch another guy do in 12 seconds.
Would have been nice with a bit of a disclaimer to backup first. I mean I should have done it of cource, but in the video you make it sound super simple so I didn't think to. It turned all my materials pink and none of the sollutions sugggested after searching for hours works. Not your link in the description either.
In the video you mention the link in the description on how to upgrade your materials but the link just says that materials aren’t compatible between renderers. My scene goes completely blank. Zero objects visible.

Hi there, I am working on a game with real looking flashlight. I noticed many flashlights in games are using only one light source. that makes these flashlights look 1990. Instead I want to make a flashlight from multiple lightsources to get a better look and feel to held a flashlight and not a bednightlight with only a cone light. So my flashlight produces 3 light sources. The near light cone to light up sides, mid rear to ambient between near and far and the target light, which is the brightest). I think that creates a better feeling.
I dont get that at all, i get just like a fog everywhere and not a cone of light like in the video, also dont know how you make change from the cone of orange light to the dark blue in the forest
Am I missing something from cloning it through git hub, I am running 2021.3.8f1 and the trees are invisible instead of rendering and there is no camera?
That is all good, but HDRP is not supported grass /vertex paint ... if i tried to solve painting of the grass meshes as mesh or tree.. it has not been worked ,too :(

I’m having trouble getting the project on my MacBook. After I cloned the project (Git) and opened it in unity it’s just a blank project. Is anyone else having trouble? Does it only work for windows?
I just imported that project via github desktop, but my hierarchy looks way different with 5 different scenes. With DEMO and DEMO_GR etc... I don't have a ''main scene'' like yours?
So, I donwloaded that project from Github. Inside that project, I can't use anything. It says that there's a prefab folder and nothing is useable. When I load a scene, it's empty. Furthermore, if I use the exact same Unity editor version, it says to update the project and after doing that, I have the same problem... nothing is useable or loadable and the scene is empty. How do I resolve this? I simply want to create some trees in HDRP but the current Unity version doesn't have Nature materials compatible with this and any tree that I create inside Unity appears pink. I'm starting to think that Unity is a terrible waste of time and I should've started learning UE4 months ago. *sigh*

Just because people can't be asked to learn how certain things work for a day or two (and not just in Unity, for that matter), doesn't mean that people who do that, should lose all of these options. Now delete your comment.

It is just out of preview though. I hope this will change now. The slower techstream should help HDRP get some asset love I think.

i got no emission tab or volumetrics... just a directional light^^ just accessable in pro version ? =(
Are you using the HDRP package and do you have the 'Volume' component added to your light?

4 spotlights with volumetric fog enable causes a massive fps drop (like 30 - 40). And i have a 7700k and 1080ti setup. Ridiculous
So is Aura 2 now redundant?

DavoMyan did you open the Fontainebleau scene? That one has two sub scenes. You can also use the Sunset or Day scenes.
