If you're making anything with HDRP, this is definitely worth 1 hour of your time. This is honestly the first time I have fully watched an hour long youtube video without skipping anything. Good job unity!
A Perfect video I must say, after spending all that time on youtube finding the perfect hdrp tutorial Unity finally came up with one themselves - Thank you PS - We need more videos like these for beginners out there, for whom diving into hdrp for the first time is too overwhelming. This certainly clears it up.
my comment: The best tutorial ( tech and art) by Unity I've ever seen! We all need this type of tutorial to make better experiences. please create others about car design, interiors, VR interaction, and so on! this is the only way to keep people within unity and don't switch over competitors.
Came across this tutorial a couple of times, but never started watching it. Shame on me. This one is packed with huge amount of profound information, presented on a the highest level.
Wow! Honestly one of the best videos i've ever seen. Extremely well done. You can tell he has worked in production environments and really knows the theory & tools inside out. Great practical examples and overall extremely well presented video. Thanks!! Wish there were more of these.
I'm always prejudiced when i see long tutorials, but this was honestly the one of the best value/time tutorials out there. love it. will be coming back often
I really appreciate this kind of long form video. Since you covered many topics back-to-back, it really helped me to see everything is related. I found this many times more helpful than the short, single-topic videos although I realise they also have their place. Thank you!
I have to join the choir and say that just _exeptional_ package of information! And very well paced, narrated and everything. Kudos to Pierre! More of these on other topics like shader and VFX graphs please :)
This one is the best tutorial you did guys, can't say the same for the others(they don't exist). Keep going in this direction please otherwise HDRP is going to look more complicated of what it is in reality PS. finally a good explanation of how to set the exposure limit!!!!
For sure one of the best Unity talks I've watched. Congratulations to the speaker and the team behind this for making such informative and engaging content. Can you do one like this for the URP?
That's a really awesome tutorial. A complete package but It would be really complete if we can have the above-shown scene/project for us to do hands-on too. As we can also do the changes as shown by Pierre and get the best out of the tutorial.
Awesome tutorial, you explained everything I've been having trouble with in HDRP! :) It would be great if Unity could share this project with all the different lighting setups.
This is a great overview of the new HDRP and how to produce a high fidelity graphics rival pre render graphics. But it would be great if you can have another video elaborate the best practices for lighting an interior scene using baking and area lights, the indirect lights are not affected by the directional light.
in 38:12 The conversion of light units obviously fails, since you see the intensity of light change. Should be constant instead, no? Bug or a unprecise convertion and an overprecise HDRP?
This video is to good to be a one-time thing. Come on, it's been more than a year. How come there's no similar videos to this? Unreal has similar videos more often. We need more similar videos to this for unity and HDRP.
*Question:* How do I get light to bounce around corners where my lights are Dynamic/Realtime and turn on and off? *Scenario:* You spawn in a room with the light on, you open the door and the house is really dark. Their is a light switch on the wall. But the switch can't be seen in the dark, and we only want to see so far into the dark. If their is too much light we can't influence the dark and unknown and scary atmosphere.
Why is there no kind of mixed mode for reflection probes? Every static object (like the scene) could baked and then only moving objects (like a player or so) would be dynamically set in front of the background. Similar to mixed lighting. Is there a technical technical reason I am missing?
I don't understand how the ground texture of this exterior is made and it burst my gear, so frustrating! Is it multiple UVs? terrain? if terrain then how to be THAT precise?
Thanks for this video but If you dont show people how to set up your lamps then it is hard to adjust exposure. Also you show us a night sky and adjust the exposure but dont show us how you set up the night scene yet. 20 minutes into video you lose me because my fire is directional lighting also and that seems to conflict with the sun.
I believe this is the best tutorial Unity has ever made. i wish to see more of this.
I very really highly extremely agree with you :)

This is honestly the first time I have fully watched an hour long youtube video without skipping anything.
Good job unity!
This was simply great. More informative videos like these would be greatly appreciated. It was better than the usual Unite recordings.
A Perfect video I must say, after spending all that time on youtube finding the perfect hdrp tutorial Unity finally came up with one themselves - Thank you
PS - We need more videos like these for beginners out there, for whom diving into hdrp for the first time is too overwhelming. This certainly clears it up.
You know it is a pro when you see that he worked on GTA V and RDR2

This is by far the best tutorial I've seen from Unity Channel
Came across this tutorial a couple of times, but never started watching it. Shame on me. This one is packed with huge amount of profound information, presented on a the highest level.
Finally a worthy tutorial for HD Rendering Pipeline.
Wow! Honestly one of the best videos i've ever seen. Extremely well done. You can tell he has worked in production environments and really knows the theory & tools inside out. Great practical examples and overall extremely well presented video. Thanks!! Wish there were more of these.
Finally a long HDRP tutorial.
I'm always prejudiced when i see long tutorials, but this was honestly the one of the best value/time tutorials out there. love it. will be coming back often
I had so much trouble balancing out exposure and lighting in HDRP, learned so much, this was a HUGE help. Very much appreciated.
I think this is one of the best tutorials I've seen on unity!
This tutorial is amazing. I was going to give up on HDRP due to frustration and confusion but this tutorial completely changed that.
I really appreciate this kind of long form video. Since you covered many topics back-to-back, it really helped me to see everything is related. I found this many times more helpful than the short, single-topic videos although I realise they also have their place. Thank you!
well spoken. so much detail ! thanks this was so helpful!!
One of the best tutorials I have ever seen. A truly Masterclass.
Super helpful! I'll be rewatching this many times! Thank you!!
Thanks a MILLION for this SUPER AWESOME TUTORIAL...👍👍 One again its nice to hear you Pierre..😀😀
I have to join the choir and say that just _exeptional_ package of information! And very well paced, narrated and everything. Kudos to Pierre! More of these on other topics like shader and VFX graphs please :)
Amazing tutorial for n00bs. Highly appreciate it.
A very good tutorial - really clearly demonstrated - thanks.
thank you Unity for existing.
Thank to you my scene is astonishing
This is a brilliant introduction to HDRP, thank you so much.
This has been very enlightening.
No, I'm not ashamed - on the contrary, pride fills me every time I pull of dad jokes.
Seriously though, awesome work!
HDRP is a massive leap for Unity. Make more videos like this please!
Amazing job here Unity - we need more presentations like this.
This one is the best tutorial you did guys, can't say the same for the others(they don't exist). Keep going in this direction please otherwise HDRP is going to look more complicated of what it is in reality PS. finally a good explanation of how to set the exposure limit!!!!

Insane tutorials provided by Unity as per usual.
I came for basic info on exposure and left with a way more realistic scene! Makes me want to watch more of these to see what I'm missing.
thank you a ton, that was heavy and deep info coming from pure experience, thank you Pierre very much , thank you Unity .
Thank you for this. Definitely some things I wasnt aware of!
Great tutorial with a perfect balance of broadness and indepth explanation. Very well done!
An outstanding introduction to HDRP, very well structured and wonderfully presented.
10/10 tutorial, Pierre
Thank you Pierre and team for this awesome detailed tutorial!
That was a great, informative and a high quality talk by Pierre, thank you very much for this, would be great to see more talks like this.
Thanks a lot for shedding a light on my approaches to HDRP. I ve been using them without knowing the principles behind it.
I recreated my bedroom in HDRP and I was bloody amazed!
I think the best feature is either the lighting or the PBR textures...but DAMN!
I watched it all the way through! Great stuff. Learned a lot from this
This tutorial is fantastic. Is this project available for download or purchase?
Great presentation, very clearly presented and jargon free. 9.5 out of 10
Big thanks, before this tutorial, i have huge exposure swaping, issue now i understand why, i can work like a photograph now.
I love this !
That's a really awesome tutorial. A complete package but It would be really complete if we can have the above-shown scene/project for us to do hands-on too. As we can also do the changes as shown by Pierre and get the best out of the tutorial.
Thank you I loved this tutorial, I really appreciate the explanations and showcase of each feature
Helpful video, thanks!!!!! Keep up the uploads.
Loved this commentary! Thank you for your work! :)
very well explainded
holy cow so much awesome information! I need to study lighting and how cameras work! thanks so much!
This a really nice and well explained presentation.
Good job Pierre Yves.
thanks for this material you rl help me
Awesome tutorial, you explained everything I've been having trouble with in HDRP! :) It would be great if Unity could share this project with all the different lighting setups.
That was incredible, thank you so much!
It's my first day of soft School, and I can tell I'm going to like my teacher!
This is a great overview of the new HDRP and how to produce a high fidelity graphics rival pre render graphics. Fantastic video tutorial! Thanks!!!!
This video is very usefull thank u. Upgrading my current project from URP to HDRP now.
Thanks so much! It's still installing, but I think it will be worth it !
Great talk, thanks! Learned a lot, especially about exposure.
Great lecture! Thank you.
This video is to good to be a one-time thing. Come on, it's been more than a year. How come there's no similar videos to this? Unreal has similar videos more often. We need more similar videos to this for unity and HDRP.
thank you
Very good tutorial ! Thanks
wow this is really good
How I get this asset/demo project?
*Question:* How do I get light to bounce around corners where my lights are Dynamic/Realtime and turn on and off?
*Scenario:* You spawn in a room with the light on, you open the door and the house is really dark. Their is a light switch on the wall. But the switch can't be seen in the dark, and we only want to see so far into the dark. If their is too much light we can't influence the dark and unknown and scary atmosphere.
Make more videos like this. more specific in keeping up the quality. thx
Love this tutorial. Good also for AEC projects like ours.
Need this palace scene please.
I need to try this for one of our next ArchViz projects! The look is amazing, and I'm so sick of offline rendering... 😅
Amazing tutorial! thank you
I doubt anybody will respond to this (especially Unity) but can you please share the settings for Overcast lighting shown around 11:33 ?
great tutorial, thanks
Nice explanation.
pure GOLD Thank a lot!!!!
Thank you Pierre
非常专业的讲解!
Why is there no kind of mixed mode for reflection probes?
Every static object (like the scene) could baked and then only moving objects (like a player or so) would be dynamically set in front of the background. Similar to mixed lighting.
Is there a technical technical reason I am missing?
This video is gold!
Is this project available for download?
just a simple question......I wanna do a rap what should I focus the most on when I wanna edit or make a good soft?i would love to
Amazing video...
It's easier than it looks. I found learning soft design (like setups - I use SERUM) much more scary but it's doable, you just gotta be
I don't understand how the ground texture of this exterior is made and it burst my gear, so frustrating! Is it multiple UVs? terrain? if terrain then how to be THAT precise?
It's a flat mesh with a heightmap for displacement. Nothing particularly special, it's a standard feature of the HDRP LIT material.
this was very needed
great quality content
Thank u bro
He didn't say that the high filter shadows only works with forward rendering
Ima get the 0 dollar one is it rlly good or nah?
Great video thanks
Is it possible to get the project to study?
Thanks for this video but If you dont show people how to set up your lamps then it is hard to adjust exposure. Also you show us a night sky and adjust the exposure but dont show us how you set up the night scene yet. 20 minutes into video you lose me because my fire is directional lighting also and that seems to conflict with the sun.
Is this using realtime GI?
I wasn't lost until he said "Control + Zed" instead of "Control + Z"
very well speech!
