    Mike, amazing playing man. What makes this pedal so inspiring is how quickly you can switch amps to completely change the vibe. I never knew how many flavors were out there as far as amps go.

      Try a Magnatone/stereo, with and without the pulsating Vibrato, think Neil Young Cowgirls in the Sand. Those amps just have that Metallic tone to them. I think it might be possible to take a Trainwreck amp. and thin it's clean sound up enough to approximate a Magnatone, then add someHOW the pulsating vibrato, I know on HELIX the vib/trem is doable.

    For years I've been saying Kemper needs to nix profiling and just stick a handful of presets in a box.
    This is great- all I really need is a decent amp or three- 5e3, jtm 45, and a blackface amp and I'm good. Volume knob, fuzz, tube screamer, and delay pedal can do the rest. Last thing I want to do is sit around futzing on the computer all day when I could be playing.

    Really enjoyed seeing someone effectively discovering sounds with Tonex pedal just like we do - and hearing some sounds just sound too harsh, but a quick tweak and they're good. Probably because it was created with a Les Paul and you're playing a tele or vice versa. Usually preset depends on the guitar. Would be great if some invented a pedal where you have Bank/Preset/Guitar --- so in bank 0, preset B - I could have a Strat version, tele version and Les Paul version. Then wouldn't be constantly EQ tweaking when I change guitar. Of course I could use up all the banks and presets, but it would be so sweet to have a per guitar version.

    NICE DEMO, I got to tell you, when that Abbey Road Album came out in 69, it was all over the radio, I spent HOURS playing songs off that album. George having arguably the 2 best Songs on the album only solidified him as an Equal writer with John and Paul. The MEDLEY is THEIR SWANSONG, it is THEIR most MODERN album and still holds today with anybody, they were Ready for the 70's, but logistics of a MUSIC RUNNING Business took them on Separate Paths. Creedance Clearwater Revival was maybe their biggest HOG, for airplay in the Day, that and the emerging LED ZEP of course. Well maybe Honky tonk woman got more Airplay. LOL.

    Mike, would you consider using this for gigging, so you're not schlepping amps everywhere? From all the demo's I've heard, it's essentially indistinguishable from the real amp. If so, would seem to be a very compact way to carry all your amps everywhere you go. Great demo as always.

    I just checked the pulse on my Kemper in light of all the hype surrounding this latest "Kemper Killer". My Kemper is still alive and well. If the much heralded Quad Cortex didn't kill the Kemper (like they said it would, too) this little box doesn't stand a chance.

    My main issue with every combination pedal system EVER is that I've yet to hear one that did anything abnormal. By abnormal I mean Brian May like or Mark Knopfler like. I've yet to hear one that can cop that Billy Squier thing from around 1981. Microphones and rooms are the ultimate rabbit hole of tone, IR and other simulations just aren't there yet and in my opinion likely won't be for another couple decades at least. It just irks me that the engineers of these products are SO set on getting sounds that sound ''as expected'' when expected is THE VERY LAST THING I would ever want. Analog gear is easily pushed to do things that were never expected, digital stuff exists in a space like a car inside of a car game exists between the lines of the digital road or grass just off of the road or some other ''parameter''. I like to go off of the rails and my favorite guitar sounds EVER were all off of the rails, had no such ''parameters''. This pedal is an amazing thing, quite an engineering feat, I have to say Bravo but I could also say the same thing about any well engineered building that, to my eyes, is just fugly. Would I use such a combo box for a doubled guitar track? Maybe. As a first or only track? No.

    • @400_billion_suns
      @400_billion_suns Год назад +1

      If you want that sound, you have to dial it up on real gear and then capture it with this. It sounds you're fundamentally misunderstanding how profiling devices work. This isn't something that simulates an amp and all of its knobs and controls. It captures the behavior of an amp, cab, and non-time-based pedals in ONE fixed state, and it does it with extreme accuracy.

    • @tasteapiana
      @tasteapiana Год назад

      @@400_billion_suns I know how it works, I am misunderstanding nothing. I know how microphones and live spaces work. There are no accurate simulations of microphone or room characteristics. There are many companies who claim to have simulated microphone response characteristics and room responses based on a multitude of theories but they are all liars. I've been at this nearly 40 years now, I know when what I hear doesn't stack up.
