I’m so glad I saw this video before following through with my plan to fling my ToneX pedal into the sea. This stuff doesn’t come naturally to me, and usually the amount of terminology thrown at me makes me feel like I need a special helmet. Thank you for explaining this in terms I can understand. Your instruction method of ‘like this, do that’ is good for us old veterans. Keep ‘em coming. (I actually liked and subscribed to this when you said it. Which I never do).
Thanks Lucas - no other video could be arsed with explaining how the pedal works, how to create a rig and transfer it to your library and then to the pedal. I almost lost the will to live yesterday and sent the pedal back for a refund as believed it was beyond my capability to use it properly. Now - thanks to 12 minutes of straight talking simple explanation on your part - I am in love with the pedal at last. Thank you so bloody much. If I ever see you in a pub the beers are one me 🍻🍻🍺🍺🍺🍺
Thank you ! This is 100 times better than the goofy Quick Start guide that comes with the pedal. Basically I feel as though all I got was a pedal and a little card that said “go to this website”. The website doesn’t even work right. My biggest question is this: How do you set the unit to switch between plugging into an amp for live performance vs. direct into recording gear (basically enabling / disabling the CAB ?)
OMG - couldn't agree more. I was sitting here yesterday trying to understand how to create my own amp/cab setups, save them and transfer to the pedal. All the PDFs and most other videos spend all their time talking about capturing amps and pedals. Hey... one step at a time. There are enough awesome possibilities with this device before getting into that. What I needed was an explanation in plain language as to HOW to use the bloody pedal. Lucas achieved this in 12 minutes. The guy is a ⭐
This video is well made and explained on how to use the interface. Thumbs up!. Maybe can consider doing one more video on different type of set up for different users. And talk about the feels of latency, picking experiences and how it sounds. I use phone to do recording and i notice thru records the tone sound very different from actual, some frequencies are lost thru recording. Guitar to tonex to tube amp Guitar to tonex to PA Guitar to tonex to PC etc.
remember back in the day we would have to drive to the music store just to go try the sound of an amp. i can't imagine what we'll be using 20 years from now
Great video ! I wasn't expecting the pedal to have so little instructions or a 1-2-3 video. The Librarian tab is exactly what I was looking for. I di have to register my product and do an update but now I can control it witht he usb cable and laptop. Cheers !
can you live edit a tone on the pedal with the software? Like, turn a knob on the pedal and see it move in the software, or can you only just transfer things?
I've watched 3 days' worth of these videos, and EVERY SINGLE ONE IS METAL style guitar. My question is a simple one: Does this pedal do any other style like maybe B B KING ,SANTANA, etc. Thanks
I agree that you are fantastic at what you do. Great video, but, I’m not a heavy chugger at all. Can you do a video on the clean side and blues tones? And classic rock. I know others do that but they’re not you. Keep them coming. You rock.
Guessing guitar input cable to Tonex, Tonex to USB (computer), output instrument cable from the Tonex to the input of the audio interface (going into the computer via USB obviously), then studio monitors for output probably.
Hi, can you accidently erase guitar sounds on the Tone X pedal? I just got my White Anniversary Tone X . its going to take me awhile to learn how to get all the sounds and I was hoping not to erase or lose any in the process?..
Be nice if somebody actually showed a video where everything connects up.. like is it going straight into a cabinet.. is it going into an amplifier... is there any Pedals with it..
In the case of the video he is connecting directly into the laptop using as an audio interface. You could use the output into a regular amplifier but that would “color” your tone because every amp has its own characteristic, to use it live perfectly maintaining your tone you will need a FRFR cabinet (full range flat response)
Hi... do you know what I may have done... I was adjusting a preset. and saved it with the hold and save knob on the right hand side.. but now I cannot scroll through all the amps with the left knob as I was prior to saving that preset... have to scroll through the amps using the right hand knob.. any ideas?
everyone talks about presets and stuff, I wanna know where your sound is coming from?? An active speaker or are you using this Tonex hardware as an interface too? Thank you!
Does anyone know why the player mode is not working? I am only able to hear things from the librarian mode. When I switch to player mode it just keeps playing from the librarian so no changes to amp settings are heard.
Hi, I just got the tonex pedal but im having problems running it into my computer. Is it supposed to appear something on the computer screen when I plug the pedal on or this tone net is a site I have to go? Im using a macbook. Thanks
I selected the exact same amp "Deja Vu" but it sounded COMPLETELY different. Really crappy. Very thin highs. Almost no chugging when palm muting, even when turning up the gain A LOT. Changing the Cab Model does change the sound a bit, but still won't produce any decent tones either. So far the Tonex has been a big disappointment. Horrible UI on the pedal and no matter what i do i can't seem to get even one of the presets to sound halfway decent and i've tried pretty much everything that's been mentioned in the Manual, RUclips Videos and Forums. Wtf am i doing wrong? I should not be getting better tones from free VSTs than from this pedal/software.
You got to love multi effects and modeling. The problem with these units is that you always end up spending more time tweaking knobs to get a good sound than you do playing the guitar. Get a good amp, plug it in and turn it on. You’re good to go.
This is why I am getting tired to use Tonex. It is a great pedal but as you said I spend a lot of time building my presets, sometimes the plugin gets frozen, then I have to reinstall it I am looking for a analog multi fx, such as the SansAmpl Fly Rig The problem is that the Fly Rig is only good for live, and not so good for recording, which is my need

He is probably the only one i can finish( watching the clip) and instantly find useful infos for tonex. Straight to the points.
Thanks Lucas - no other video could be arsed with explaining how the pedal works, how to create a rig and transfer it to your library and then to the pedal. Glad it wasn't just me. I'm in computer engineering and I still couldn't figure it out.
Thank you ! This is 100 times better than the goofy Quick Start guide that comes with the pedal. Basically I feel as though all I got was a pedal and a little card that said “go to this website”. Out of all the videos on tonex your has the answers I needed. Great work.

Guitar to tonex to tube amp
Guitar to tonex to PA
Guitar to tonex to PC etc.

So is this an amplifier pedal.. can I just connect my guitar to this, and my speaker cabinet to it..?
Great video ! I wasn't expecting the pedal to have so little instructions or a 1-2-3 video. The Librarian tab is exactly what I was looking for. I di have to register my product and do an update but now I can control it witht he usb cable and laptop. Cheers !
I use the TX for amp/cab & a Boss GTX Core for effects. Works perfect! The Boss has good modeling too, but TX has limitless options
In the video is it connected to laptop and monitors/ guitar cab
this video was great! Did you adjust the trim / input gain at all based on your guitar?
can you live edit a tone on the pedal with the software? Like, turn a knob on the pedal and see it move in the software, or can you only just transfer things?
Thanks for making a simple video. I just got mine and have been confused.

What’s the model here? Good tone.
Is there a comprehensive list anywhere of the amps and cabs that come already loaded on the pedal?
I agree that you are fantastic at what you do. Great video, but, I’m not a heavy chugger at all. Can you do a video on the clean side and blues tones? And classic rock. I know others do that but they’re not you. Keep them coming. You rock.
Thanks for this video my man!
Maybe a stupid question, but how is this pedal hooked up? To studio monitors? Or to a cabinet?
Guessing guitar input cable to Tonex, Tonex to USB (computer), output instrument cable from the Tonex to the input of the audio interface (going into the computer via USB obviously), then studio monitors for output probably.
how to bring back the default preset you have overwritten with your own ?
Great tutorial !
Hi, can you accidently erase guitar sounds on the Tone X pedal? I just got my White Anniversary Tone X . its going to take me awhile to learn how to get all the sounds and I was hoping not to erase or lose any in the process?..
What is the output impedance in ohms? Also, is the output line or instrument level?
How do you get to that to that software?
how do I scroll thorough presets using the toggle switches
Thanks! Great video! Is the unit capable of using two amps at the same time? For instance blending two chains?
How to use pitch shifter or pitch drop in TØηΞ χ? I have standard tuning guitar and TØηΞχ pedal and i want to ▶️play drop tunings how could i?

So it has no delay ?
everyone talks about presets and stuff, I wanna know where your sound is coming from?? An active speaker or are you using this Tonex hardware as an interface too? Thank you!
I’m after an shelfing unit for my amps where did you get the one in the video background ?
does exist any foot control or footswitch to control better tonex pedal while playing without computer ?
Does anyone know why the player mode is not working? I am only able to hear things from the librarian mode. When I switch to player mode it just keeps playing from the librarian so no changes to amp settings are heard.

Can anyone tell me if you could use 250ohm beyerdynamic cans on these?
yeah i use my 880s and they work just fine :)
a comment for the algorithm
shame theres no delay on that unit
Yeah, but you can toss a delay after.

Im assuming youre using the dual function dials unaware
100 like ;)

Set up a tone, save it.. exactly the same as playing a dialed amp

I am looking for a analog multi fx, such as the SansAmpl Fly Rig

dude's flipping us the bird the whole time...
Shite had nothing bit issues just trying to download software. Get yourself a proper amp and a few pedals and play guitar more
Auditionining tone net presets on pedal should be faster.
