totally! when the setter talked about gravity being high, i surely didn’t expect him to casually use the gym’s macgyver style gravity control. might also be technology stolen from the japanese. also explains v6 feeling like v9-10. low gravity to make the setting easier, and turned all the way up before magnus tried… hardest boulder gym my a**!! 😂
Loved the small touches to the editing (the "revive", the "(Magnus tries two other v8s but thexy were impossible lol)", and the pacing with the music). Fun video, great quality :)
Hey magnus you should do a video where you have setters come in and mark specific boulders with the wrong grading, it would probably be a really fun video with friends involved
That's pretty much what happens in every climbing gym anyway. You could see the setter blinking as Magnus told him it wasn't a v6 and the setter's saying he's seen no one climbing it and none of the comp kids could climb it - and it still didn't seem to register. TBH at this grade it probably doesn't matter, but gyms setting v2 and v3 that are really v5s probably explains why most of them are empty half the day.
@@genieinthepot2455 lol? Are you 7? I just don't see the point in the sandbagging - I get it was a bit of a thing back in the day between climbers who knew each other well, but in a commercial setting it just seems dumb.
Would love to see a video with Isaac again one of these days. Would be cool to see how he's doing since he was featured on the channel so much in the past. Magnus, Isaac and Juji all climbing together would be a fun throwback to the old days
Me too! I started bouldering and climbing because Magnus randomly popped up in my feed and it just looked so cool! I also wanted to do rock climbing because I'm scared of heights but want to work on it
@@spulwasser Same, I saw the pretending to be a beginner video and binge-watched Magnus until I decided to try it too, it's been 1.5 years and it's basically my main hobby
Magnus, one of your videos came up on my recommended about 2 months ago. I’ve climbed in the past but your videos have given me motivation to go climb every couple of days, thanks a lot it been really fun!
Went to Harrowall a month back and didn't do anything harder than V5. Seeing Magnus struggle on that v6 reassures me that it's not just me who struggles there!
During the tenzing climbing festival event there (For which they set the speed run boulder challenge that Magnus does) was a v8 boulder problem that out of Chris Sharma, Louis Parkinson and multiple other strong (v13 and harder) boulderers nobody could complete. I don't go to harrowall often but I find the grading is quite random the times I've been recently, either super soft or stupidly sandbagged.
Your channel got me into bouldering, hitting moves and sending problems I never would have dreamed of. Amazing sport and community. Thanks for the videos 🤘.
I love this video. Yeah, in most of the commercial gyms in London, they tend not to really grade above V8. Thus, the climbs in the range of V6-V8 are a mess of a bit of everything and often sandbagged, which can be discouraging when you are at the level or push you harder-it depends on the spirit!
I was at this centre for the event the weekend before this was filmed. I came away pretty humbled with the grading at the centre also, so It was a breath of fresh air to see Magnus struggle too 😀
Got back to climbing/bouldering last year after watching so much of your videos ... now I feel stronger, fitter and as a matter of fact I lost 7kg 😅 Thanks so much for your work and your energy, keep it up Mr. N°1 Sport RUclipsr
Magnus, when I watched Emil's recent video of a comp for beginners, I thought what a good opportunity for Magnus to turn up in one of his disguises. A room full of people who may not recognise you!
Yo Magnus, nice video man! I think it would be a cool idea for you to do few videos with Olympic Female Climbers as well like Janja, Brooke, Jessie Pilz, Miho Nonaka, etc.
You should visit an avid climbing centre in the UK. I’ve been climbing in my avid gym in Ipswich for about 3 months. I can say I love the community and the boulders they set are really good! They change a section of the walls every 1 or 2 weeks which is great in my opinion!
To explain this (assuming you want to know more): Norwegian /r/ can be pronounced in two different ways. Magnus uses the Bergen pronunciation (similar to French /r/), because... well, he's from Bergen. So, duh. Oslo people will use a trill instead, like Russian /r/. Both of these Rs are perfectly normal in Norway. I don't think Magnus would care at all whether you use English /r/ or French /r/ or Russian /r/ - he's probably fine with however you pronounce it.
As a person that’s climbed at Harrow for years it felt very good to see Magnus falling off the red getting frustrated. Basically summarises my entire career at Harrow 😂😂
Every time I watch a More Magnus video I don't realize it isn't a main channel video until I go to the comments lmao, it paralleled only by the main channel counterpart.
Imagine you are a route setter and Magnus comes over with his camera man and asks why you rate the V8-V9 as a V6 🤣 That dude was quite chill under the circumstance !
Yep, Harrowall does sandbag some of the grades sometimes (currently some of the V4s are harder for me to do than their V5/6s) 😂 That red v6 set during the Tenzing festival was one that I never saw anyone top - nice to see you top it though 👏🏼
I am glad to see Magnus struggling on a V6, because I do climb in two gyms that are even harder than HarrowWall: RavensWall and VauxWall West. And I do climb V6, so... after all I am not so bad!
Im so happy seeing magnus failing a v6. grew up wathcing him and idolizing him as a god and now he struggles with a hard v6 and i climb abt hard v6 in a session
the gravity cursor should be mandatory in every climbing gym. Now I've got a new way to justify my fails!
totally! when the setter talked about gravity being high, i surely didn’t expect him to casually use the gym’s macgyver style gravity control. might also be technology stolen from the japanese.
also explains v6 feeling like v9-10. low gravity to make the setting easier, and turned all the way up before magnus tried… hardest boulder gym my a**!! 😂
But there should be the options low, high, way high, Sun, 100G😂
I was thinking the same thing, might just model and print one for my gym as a gift
"Have you heard? Magnus is swinging by!"
*goes and slaps some v6-labels on v8s*
Magnus trolled enough gyms with his disguises, the gyms are fighting back!
I was not expecting there to be an actual dial. 😂
That was to funny
lol
I love how magnus' "second" channel never feels like an afterthought.
It's a high quality channel in itself
legit good enough I didn't even notice this was on the second channel til I saw this comment lol
didnt even realize I clicked on the second channel xDDD
1:30- 4:40 imagine you went into a gym to see magnus Mitbo falling on a v6
That was not a V6.
Maybe when it was super fresh and sticky, but that's positive thinking.
I'd start looking for the kids area

magnus fighting against a hard v6 is my fav content
That was such an interesting problem. Such good routesetting.
I think I would be really happy if this kind of content is all Magnus did. I know he'd never be content with it, but I would always watch
Consistently my favorite Magnus content. Love a regular old climbing session!
Really enjoyed the tour around, would love to see more tours where ever you go next :)
