- On the eve of the World Cup season beginning where all roads will lead to the Olympics in Paris, 12 of the worlds strongest climbers gathered in... Hull.
Rockcity and Serious Climbing Distribution kindly provided a training camp that included some of the Worlds best selection of climbings holds that were expertly set by B-Pump owner Katsu and renowned setter Tsukuru.
There were strong Japanese, German and GB climbers that included no less that 6 World Cup gold medallists.
Climbers included Sorato Anraku, Miho Nonaka, Yoshiyuki Ogata, Daiki Sano, Alex Megos, Yannick Flohe, Max Milne, Hamish McArthur, Jack MacDougall, Jim Pope, Erin McNiece and Toby Roberts.
When the training session was about to begin there was suddenly a surprise announcement...
An insane 1 minute knockout format with a full test of Balance, Coordination and Power.

Toby this is so good, such a privilege to peek behind the scenes of a training session with this crew! Would have loved to hear some of the original audio as well to hear more of the vibes and banter, but this is ace as it is!
I would watch a 4 hour video of the whole session no problem.
I would guess that's coming in the part 2. Hopefully anyway. I loved the energy in this, got me really excited for my session tomorrow, but I would also love to see/hear the interactions

Yes! It’s so good to train with a lot of different people. Everyone excels at different aspects and it’s great to learn from each other
Fantastic editing. Katsu is a legend. A few years back watching him testing the setting at Ogikubo was mind-blowing. His knowledge of movement possibilities is second to none.

That Brixen top watching it live was incredible! Nobody believe it could be done, being such a powerful boulder, and with a lot of failed attempts before. Amazing how Toby manage to cling on to it with every last bit of strenght.

I remember watching the livestream of the finals of 2023 brixen. That finals was one of the most stacked finals (everyone I would consider top 10 or even top 6 lol) and for you to take the win with only seconds to spare was incredible.
It was an incredible moment, my heart is still beating hard 😅
@@TobyClimbing I consider you one of the top comp climber now but back then I hadn't heard of you until your podium placement at slc so I consider it as one of the best underdog/coming of age story in comp climbing haha.
