Yoriichi isn't perfect he had all that power yet he couldn't save his brother his family and take down his enemy
It's sad that Kokushibo kept comparing himself to his brother and always felt himself lacking in some way. He was obviously loved by the people around him as a human and even found some satisfaction if not happiness if he has never encountered his brother again he might have lived a full human life. Truly tragic how his inferiority complex devoured him and contributed to his downfall.

He is certainly egoist, he is definitly to prideful for his own good, and that costed him and his brother everything, but he is not narcissistic, he never reached the perfection he sought, he knows that and he hates that.

What's really sad is that the story later confirms that while Kokushibo was very jealous of Yoriichi.. he realized that he loved him and felt great sadness when Yoriichi passed away fighting him.
He kept the flute that he had made for Yoriichi as a child when he discovered it was being held onto by Yoriichi during their final battle.
Kokushibo IS evil & is jealous & bitter & did have a inferiority complex, but deep down he truly did admire, respect, and love his brother.
I love how multilayered his character is.
This is the reason why we love him. He truly represents a normal human.

Muzan tryed to turn the Kamado family into demons but failed, Nezuko wasn't under his control.

I'd say a strong aspect of why Kokushibo let his pride and jealousy take over himself is because of how he was raised. He was raised to be the superior one. He was convinced that he was something special and his brother is the one he needed to protect. He worked hard to live up to those expectations. When his brother was proven to be an absolute natural his whole world view shattered. He knew no matter how much he worked, he would never catch up to Yoriichi. If he was raised differently, he probably wouldn't have minded it so much.

I’d like to the the author bring out a “new” version of Demon Slayer manga all about Yoriichi and what he went through after he left his family for the temple. It would be nice to see how he trained and learned about Demons and how he created sun breathing, until his death.
ahm, it's in the manga, he Forrest Gumped for 24 hours straight, saw his future wife just contemplating life in a rice paddy, cause her whole family died of a plague.
Consoled her and went to live with her and lived as farmers, eventually got married and they were about to have a baby.
Then a demon killed his wife and their unborn child, mourned by not moving and holding unto his wife for 10 straight days until a Rengoku found him.
He basically pulled a Jesus where the first years of adult life was uneventful and was nothing more than this boring montage of farming life in medieval Japan.
Are you the strongest cause your tsugukuni yorichi or, are you tsugukini yorichi beacuse your the strongest? Nothing is more broken than that sentence than yorichi’s powers. He defeated Muzan and was able to slice the 1500 pieces of flesh out 1800. When he was fighting kokushibou he Nearly killed him. But he died. But he died undefeated, standing up dead. He was a undefeated legend. If he was able to kill muzan that easily. And, slice 1500 tiny pieces of flesh in 400 miliseconds. He would be able to solo all 12 kizuki and muzan combined.

Muzan back then was only 500 years old and was alot weaker than he is now. He didn't master his BDA or his abilities yes. He didn't even know that his head wasn't a weak spot. Yoriichi literally felt fear in that moment and got lucky. He said that 1 scratch could kill him. Yoriichi was going 100% on Muzan. On Muzan's end, he said that Yoriichi's techniques were too fast to see.
Currently Muzan is far stronger and faster than he was when he fought Yoriichi. Proof of this is that his regeneration is now so fast that it constantly repair his cells, so Yoriichi's scars don't show like they did back then.
Kokushibo was confirmed to be relative to Muzan in power. In his monster form he said that he fears nothing but the sun. He probably even surpassed Muzan in his final form. + he mastered his swordsmanship to the point that his techniques need an even more complicated sword.
Im quite sure that Monster Kokushibo is at the same lvl or stronger than Yoriichi.

Yorichi someone that have nothing and desire nothing, treasure every single thing he have. I'm not a manga reader but it seems like that flute was the first thing that someone ever give to him. That is why he treasure that so much, for someone that have nothing, that flute represented the world to him.
In the other hand someone that have everything, is spoiled and can't see someone else thriving that he already become jealous of his brother. He wanted to have what he couldn't.

Nope, the first demon was muzan, he was a frail human being since birth and a doctor with an experimental medicine made from the blue spider lily tried to cure him, that turned him into a demon, it took a while for the changes to occur so muzan thought it didnt work, so he killed the doctor, after killing the doctor, he realized he was healthy again at the cost of not being able to survive in the sunlight, realizing he fucked up and shouldnt have killed the doctor since the doctor could have completed the medicine and made him a perfect demon, he couldn't do anything but just create demons from his blood until one of them developed a resistance to sunlight.

12:03 one minor issue with this, unless im mistaken im pretty sure that breathing styles arent something that physically manifests but rather its just a visualisation, the reason kokushibo has the cresent moons that actually exist are his blood demon art, and for this reason he didnt have it when he was a human making this point a little bit incorrect
His shaped sword is the reason for the crescent moons. That’s why he could make another 6 forms, after becoming a demon. A normal sword didn’t cut it. (no pun intended).

@@Domab. although, it was explained that Koku’s moon breathing when he wasn’t a demon was just advanced samurai techniques. I’m just suggesting that since Koku’s sword can bend to his will as a demon, that could be some form of correlation.

It will always upset me that we never got a fight between Tanjiro and Kokoshibu. Tanjiro is the first Sunbreather since his brother. He's even wearing the same XXXXING EARINGS!!! Honestly it should've been that their was more time in the manga before the final arc. Tanjiro gets into one last fight with Akuza. And with his defeat Kokoshibu shows up. And basically says "Finally, after all these years, a worthy opponent. Rest now for soon, I'll be hunting you." Then we do the Hashira training arc yada yada, maybe some more arcs where we get introduced to the other new moons. Boom Infinity mansion arc with a epic fight with Kokoshibu.

In the end, both brothers wanted what eachother had but could never achieve it, Yoriichi wanted a family/stop being a swordsman and Kokushibo wanted to be the best swordsman and left his family behind
The thing that abnoys me about this end to Koku is that Tanjiro isn't the one to do it

The fact that the mist Hashira Tokito’s father looks identical to Tanjiro leads me to believe Tanjiro is a cousin to Tokito and is a branch descendant of some form to Yorrichi either through Yorrichi’s lineage itself or through Tsugikuni abandoned family. If Tokito’s father perhaps had a sister or or something but they look too similar and I don’t see why Tanjiro has all these inherited memories and resemblances to these noble swordsmen

To sum it up the younger twin was curse while the oldest had it all instead of putting forth his strength into his style
Funnily enough, if Kokushibo acted more like a brother and less like an acquaintance to Yoriichi he would have realized how much his brother loved him way before they were forced fight each other.
The thing is he tried when they were children, but Yoriichi was just stoic, he observed he was kind he was still as flawless, but unresponsive, too quiet for proper interactions.
All children will be put off by their fellows if they feel like they are listened too and no apparent reactions appears on their faces.
Thats why Yoriichi saw Michikatsu as his brother, because Michikatsu acted like one, but due to said silence, Michikatsu never saw that back, hell even smilling he something he barely saw in his brother in all his life.
Find it very ironic for someone so powerful and six eyes and yet his so blind to see how much his brother loved him, he gave up humanity to reach the want thing he wanted in still wasnt happy at all with his life.
