@moody b. I think it has a lot more to do with Michael spending 15 years of his life after murdering his sister Judith with Loomis every day in Smiths Grove.

Got a special spot for Halloween...when I was five (in 1981) after I was done trick or treating, my mom (after pilfering through my candy haha) sat me down and made me watch the first one. Since then, every year we watched it. Even after I moved away for school, on Halloween, she'd call me, "Hey, you got Myers on? Ok. Call me when it's done.". Even after she passed in 2010, I've kept watching it every year. I miss her terribly...and I will keep that streak until I'm gone. Cheers.
You had the coolest mom ever. I'm sorry for her passing even so many years ago. I was raised by fundamental Christians, so I had to play catch up many years later

Huge Fan Love how Jamie Lee Curtis stayed a main character. They stayed true to the script.Watched this movie 2 times the same day and enjoyed it both times, will be watching it again.
Michael Myers was always my favourite slasher villain. The fact he was once normal(ish) as a child and then started killing for no reason, never spoke again and just felt nothing was always creepy. Yet he didn’t kill just anyone and everyone, he stalked them but for reasons only known to himself. I also loved Loomis who was supposedly a professional psychiatrist spending years trying to work him out just get to a place of “He’s evil incarnate, kill him” which I’m sure is not in the medical journals. To me, giving him back story trying to explain his behaviour makes him less scary.
A backstory would be good and won't make him less scary. You don't have to touch much on his reasons, but some things should be explained. Like how he doesn't die when he 100% should have for example, a 'normal' human being doesn't survive getting shot, falling off high places, getting stabbed, getting beaten with objects and in the newer ones he is an old man that gets shot in the neck, stabbed in the gut twice, beaten with pipes and bats and stabbed in the back of the neck only to get up like nothing happened. This needs an explanation, otherwise it can easily be taken as the directors just milking him as much as they can for future movies. That imo is the only hindrance of an otherwise iconic and unique character
@D If you don't have anything useful to say then don't say anything at all. I am not asking them to explain everything, but at least hint at us that there indeed is something in the background. In many of the movies listed in this video the characters straight up ignore the fact that he is basically immortal. That DOES make it look like a cheap excuse to keep the franchise going. How come not one guy stops and thinks "Hold up, I shot him 20 times and he just got up and walked away..."? What I am talking about is something like in Halloween Kills: "We shot him, set him on fire and he LIVED. Think about that" "If they don't kill him now we may see him again" "It's like the more he kills the stronger he becomes" "If only we knew then what we know now" I know people have mixed opinions on this movie, but clearly the characters don't ignore the fact that there is something abnormal about Michael. This is ACKNOWLEDGEMENT that there is something supernatural about him. It's clearly there, the characters are aware of it too, but what exactly is never pin pointed. You get what I mean now?
@D Don't you see that you completely missed all the points I made and instead went after made up arguments that don't even exist? Where did I say that I needed a technical reason? You not only argued against strawman arguments but even went on a rant about me and and said strawman arguments. If you want to continue this then reply to the points I actually made and let's discuss them normally because making up assumptions about me due to lack of any decent arguments isn't gonna cut it for ya
Man do I enjoy your breakdown and all videos in general... There's movies you breakdowns that I don't even like yet your videos make it enjoyable. Thanks!
Just got home from watching Halloween and personally it was a very good movie and the ending left me wondering if he'll be coming back since ya cant seem to ever kill the guy.
Ariana Perez If you stayed till the end of the movie (the end of the credits) you can hear him breathing through the mask which most likely means he’s still alive
He's just a normal person not supernatural that's why most love him. Btw I'm starting a Michael hunt we'll kill everyone called Michael do you want to join.
You know, I'm honestly sad that they didn't go the route of his niece taking up the "family trade." They could've wrote it off as a way of Michael's immortality through his legacy. Sure, the original Michael (or his body at least) is dead, but his spirit still remains, and it's now taken residence in the next of kin, his niece. Or hell, at least make a spin-off series, THERE'S SO MUCH CONTENT THERE
My uncle lives not far from where the ambulance crash scene in part 4 was filmed (Ogden, Utah). Everytime we visited he made sure to point out the bridge where the ambulance crashes into the Weber River. It's a small town so it was kind of a big deal back then to have a movie filmed there.
That conversation that Dr Loomis and sheriff Braket had inside the Myers house at the midpoint of Halloween part 1 (1978) really shows off exactly how amazing the acting skills that Donald Pleasence brought to the table are. And especially the very last shot of part one when Dr Loomis realizes that Michael got up and Walked away. That expression on Donald Pleasence’s face says it all no words are needed.
The first one was scary because we didn't know anything about Michael, he was intimidating and genuinely terrifying. After 1 they explained way to much and made up alot of random stuff to explain stuff that had been previously explained multiple times. 2018 wasn't too bad, but at the same time it suffers with the same flaws as the sequels
My mom told me that when she was in the labor with me, they went to the hospital and the name of her doctor was “Doctor Myers” and she started crying her eyes out because of the last name. Fast forward years later, my poppy had me watching Halloween at only 4. I was destined to watch Michael myers I swear 😅
Dude this commentary is hilarious! Michael crashes into a tree which is only a minor inconvenience and gets out of the car without a scratch. Not even a rip in the jumpsuit or anything! I’m ROFL 🤣 that was so funny
Great video on the movie history! I play Michael every year in my neighborhood and the kids cant get enough of it. I will be at the premier of Halloween Kills in full costume and in character.
@@geekedmedia Hmmm? Could be...That totally could be a plot option for the future. It's logical that Stephen being genetically connected to Michael (depending on which version of Curse of Michael Myers you choose, could be SUPER close) that he could just become the "new" Michael.... I just don't know if it's likely, because it's non-canon to this new movie but I don't know how all that works. In my mind, all of those films aren't just non-canon, they are just a different timeline. A different way the events could have worked out. That way they're not just wiped away, like they never existed.
^^shut up^^ but righttt im completely obsessed so ready for halloween this friday ! Would be cool if tommy doyle was wating 40 years too and they used the same actor
It was something different at least. Now it's just another horror series everyone is surprised to see a new movie for, but it won't stop because it's got a built in audience. When I realized how many paranormal activity movies their are I lost all faith in horror.
When my dad saw the first one in theaters, they thought that there were actually several psych patient targeting Lori. It would explain why multiple masks were taken and how they managed to move the tombstoen
Imagine how epic the series would have been if Jamie took over, like don’t get me wrong Michael is the king of Halloween forever but that would have been hella interesting.
@paris That is what I originally thought was going to happen. It wouldn't have been a bad idea seeing as the two had a psychological bond with one another, she killed in his suit, AND....well, she killed a man. It would've been frightening to see her do the same exact thing her uncle did.
2:42 Michael didn’t exhume her body; he took her headstone which we later see in the 3rd act when Laurie discovers Annie dead upstairs. Good timeline and video though.
@@isaiescamilla550 Huh? Paul looked super young back then and seems like he never ages, like as if he was in the Quantum Realm. (Remember, you never really age in there.)
Yea maybe he deep down doesn’t like killing and he has to kill his family to be set free… he keeps living through pain and he just wants to stop it. I’m thinkin maybe he was young and met a man or woman that put a curse on him w sum kinda voodoo spell or sum. Then when Michael gets shot at or burned he feels it constantly even after. Just a theory of mine
i actually like the plot surrounding him being a evil serial killer bc of a curse. it just makes a lot of sense. the more he kills the more immortal he becomes and it’s no stopping him.
I love how the sequels start just denying the previous films. Like all of that stuff in the film before this one? Nope don’t worry about any of it cause in this one that never happened🤣
The Jamie saga would have worked if they hadn't introduced the man in black in number 5 and then Danielle Harris could have been in H20 and that could have been the 6th movie instead of the way they did it and they could of kept Laurie's son too with the story being that Jamie finds out Laurie faked her death and went to find her and Michael could have followed her and found Laurie and her son and there you go.
Owen Velazquez ok? How would you shorten it? It could've been longer if he had included the rob zombie and Halloween 3 stuff too. If you didn't want to sit through a half hour of this then why are you here?
"Someone must of been giving him lessons" 🤣🤣 That line was fire just enough to cover the awkward never runs to kill you but can drive 🚗 Michael Myers 🔪
by the end of this series Michael Myers mask looked like Michael Jackson. Also that scene where Busta Rhymes is yelling at him is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was supposed to be Michael Jackson for Halloween, so we went to the Halloween store to get a hat, and luckily they had a MJ brand hat that I could use. So next I decided to grab the nearest Michael Myers mask so I could tell my mom that I was “two Michael’s at once,” 😂
For those of you who haven't watched the previous ones..... watch the first Halloween, Halloween 2, and if you have time, Halloween 4 (make sure the first two Halloweens are the original ones, not Rob Zombies remakes). These three Halloween movies are the best. After Halloween 4, it goes sharply downhill: *Halloween 5 is when the series loses its feel and they inject that bizarre druid cult plot as well as replace the original simple Myers' house with some Victorian mansion. Halloween 5 is still somewhat entertaining but doesn't have the feel of the first 3 Michael Myers' movies. *Halloween 6 should be removed from history. It just goes further down the "let's try and retroactively explain the first two movies with our really, really bad idea while forgetting what made the first originals so great". *Halloween H20, like Halloween 5, is also somewhat entertaining but lacks the feel of the first three Halloween movies. It was made in the years after the Scream movie came out and feels more similar to that franchise than Halloween. *Halloween Resurrection was probably the worst of the bunch. Absolutely atrocious and should also be removed from history. It also has the feel of a Scream movie rather than Halloween. *Rob Zombie's fairly recent remakes of the original first two Halloween movies completely lack the feel of the originals and are just gory but sort of entertaining since they focus on Myers' childhood a bit. ****Halloween 3 exists but doesn't have Michael Myers in it and has nothing to do with anything****
S S it’s because they were trying to make Halloween an anthology series but everyone complained because they’d rather have the same Myers story over and over. His return in 4 makes little sense after the end of 2.
@scoonie Imo they were alright. I understand where your coming from but nowadays people want to see horror movies, not slasher. If he was going to make a gory film he should of did like a mini series or sumn like that to show more detail of how gruesome his murders really were. Not alot of people are into gory horror films nowadays especially if it doesn't have a good plot. Its just a bunch of senseless killing with no meaning behind it 🤷🏾♂️
All I've read except for a few here are complains. There's people (such as myself) who love slasher gory movies. Michael Myers being my most beloved slasher of all time. The movies (if watched correctly and paid attention to) come together that form the whole story. If you want the over and over replay then stick with the first movie and stop complaining. No one is forcing you to watch the movies tho you can voice opinion. The point is y'all aren't producers it takes years for a good movie or series to be complete. Not the smart remark of 15 minutes, that's what I call "$500 budget movies" that literally make no sense and full of sex.
ColonelCarnage, Agreed. at the end of Halloween 2 he has both eyes poked out and is severely burned. In the beginning of Halloween 4 he has his eyesight back with burned skin. In Halloween 5, he has his normal skin back. He's like Deadpool....
First 10 seconds of video "holy shit, there is no way im watching a 35 min video" 5 mins in- " okay, i can watch this for a few more. " 33 minutes in: " what tf am i doing with my life?"
What is the logical height of Myers if the 2009 Myers was nearly 7ft (6’9)but nick castle is 5’10 and James Jude Courtney is 6’3 like is he 7ft or 6ft?
@@Darkviate Ironically, I was thinking the same thing while reading up on it last night. A consistent height is a characteristic that they should have kept solid. I would assume 6'-6'3. (Excluding Zombie's makes 🙄)
I love at the end of part 2 when he stabs loomis in the stomach and the Dr does like 2 somersaults and falls knocking everything over lol. But the absolute coolest moment in the Halloween franchise history is loomis fires 7 shots out of the 6 shot revolver and looks to see Michael was gone. The look on loomis face and seeing all the shots of the possible location where he could be, that and conjunction with hearing him breathing but we don’t see him. That gives me that Erie feeling that Michael can be anywhere (even in my doorway lol). I just think that whole ending scene was absolutely brilliant and well done.
I like that they went the other route with Michael not really having connections to the “supernatural”, but I am not surprised that the celebrity craze of the early 2000’s killed the franchise in just a single movie...
Michael has been shot, stabbed, electrocuted, blown up, set on fire, shot again (in the eyes, so a double headshot didn't do anything), knocked from a great height and been smacked with heavy objects. What the hell is that guy made of?! It's a trope in films that psychotics have much higher strength and damage resistance than sane people but Michael is straight up nuts. PS: 28:30 - That is something I've never seen before. Horror movie, black guy placed in an incredibly vulnerable position, killer decides to sneak by instead, black guy survives. (in fact, black guys survives TWICE) Thats breaking new ground right there
It's pretty regularly insinuated that there's more at work than just mental illness, which is where the weird cult-y stuff was going. To put it bluntly, it was probably intended that Michael is under some sort of demonic or otherwise supernatural influence, keeping him alive through unlikely odds.
I like how Dr. Loomis is not scared of Michael, and Michael never goes after Loomis directly.

What I am talking about is something like in Halloween Kills:
"We shot him, set him on fire and he LIVED. Think about that"
"If they don't kill him now we may see him again"
"It's like the more he kills the stronger he becomes"
"If only we knew then what we know now"
I know people have mixed opinions on this movie, but clearly the characters don't ignore the fact that there is something abnormal about Michael.
Thanks!
I agree with you all the way😊
Just got home from watching Halloween and personally it was a very good movie and the ending left me wondering if he'll be coming back since ya cant seem to ever kill the guy.
Same i thought he was gonna come out of the house or something
Ariana Perez really? I didn’t think it was as good as the others. The way he creeped up on his victims wasn’t as creepy as before.
I was kind of disappointed with the move, the ending leaves the door open for another one
Ariana Perez is it a rob Zombie movie or no?

If you stayed till the end of the movie (the end of the credits) you can hear him breathing through the mask which most likely means he’s still alive

Michael my second favorite after Jason.
He's just a normal person not supernatural that's why most love him. Btw I'm starting a Michael hunt we'll kill everyone called Michael do you want to join.
You know, I'm honestly sad that they didn't go the route of his niece taking up the "family trade."
They could've wrote it off as a way of Michael's immortality through his legacy. Sure, the original Michael (or his body at least) is dead, but his spirit still remains, and it's now taken residence in the next of kin, his niece.
Or hell, at least make a spin-off series, THERE'S SO MUCH CONTENT THERE

Michael Galarza I liked your comment because you needed one more for 1k.

So glad to know I'm not the only one this bothers
I want a present day sequel that reveals Stephen is the killer.
They should have done the sequel that was planned for part 6 Producers cut!

Wait, what if michael was off killing his siblings as an effort to end the curse (seeing how it manifested in Jaimie)
That’s what I’m thinking too
Yea maybe he deep down doesn’t like killing and he has to kill his family to be set free… he keeps living through pain and he just wants to stop it.

Because part 5 and 6 were complete garbage
The Jamie saga would have worked if they hadn't introduced the man in black in number 5 and then Danielle Harris could have been in H20 and that could have been the 6th movie instead of the way they did it and they could of kept Laurie's son too with the story being that Jamie finds out Laurie faked her death and went to find her and Michael could have followed her and found Laurie and her son and there you go.

For those of you who haven't watched the previous ones..... watch the first Halloween, Halloween 2, and if you have time, Halloween 4 (make sure the first two Halloweens are the original ones, not Rob Zombies remakes). These three Halloween movies are the best. After Halloween 4, it goes sharply downhill:
*Halloween 5 is when the series loses its feel and they inject that bizarre druid cult plot as well as replace the original simple Myers' house with some Victorian mansion.
@S S Halloween 3 was more of a cult movie

It's pretty regularly insinuated that there's more at work than just mental illness, which is where the weird cult-y stuff was going. To put it bluntly, it was probably intended that Michael is under some sort of demonic or otherwise supernatural influence, keeping him alive through unlikely odds.
