That's some true friendship right there.
My headcanon is that maybe the farmer found the two wolves as pups and he took them in. He also breeds sheepdogs so he uses the two wolves as live demonstrations as what his sheepdogs can do.
Just like the 2 wrestlers in Kim possible. It’s their personas to despise each other, but in the Locker room or out incognito, they ask how the other one is doing, how’s the wife and setting up dinner appointments. Really wholesome
I used to think these were Wile E. Coyote cartoons when he needed a break from The Runner Runner. Just Like When Sylvester takes a break from Tweety in some cartoons by chasing Speedy Gonzales or Hippety Hopper with his son Sylvester Jr. But now I fond out it's a total different character named Ralph Wolf with his own series of cartoons with Sam Sheepdog.
Actually those instances where Wile E. Coyote takes a break from chasing the Road Runner you're talking about are all those Wile E. Coyote & Bugs Bunny cartoons. In these Bugs VS Wile E. cartoons, Wile E. speaks with an upper-class British accent, and takes on the role of the arrogant self-proclaimed "super genius" who attempts to catch and eat Bugs for his supper, only to fail due to Wile E. 's own arrogance backfiring on him. But in the last of the five Bugs/Wile E. cartoons "Hare-Breadth Hurry" (1963), it follows the Road Runner cartoon format, with Bugs standing in for the Road Runner and Wile E. in a non-speaking role. This alternate personna of Wile E. is re-used in New Looney Tunes when he is paired with Bugs Bunny.
Maybe I should change jobs. Last week I worked 3 hours overtime, though I do work in a hospital, and you never know when something will come from the emergency department.

I think about these two when I watched John Wick Chapter 2 -- between the title character (Keanu Reeves) and Casius (Common); them beating each other up and then having a drink together at the Continental.
I thought of this in John Wick 1 when he tells the doorman/guard at the bath house to take the night off...after complimenting his weight loss and asking about his family. 😂
There was another one, which I think you missed. That one had Ralph pummel Sam just before the end-of-day whistle. Then Ralph and Sam clocked out, and Fred and George clocked in. Right after that, Fred proceeds to pummel George. Unless I'm mistaken.
I think you're right, I seem to remember that. There's a similar one where the wolf is getting pummeled and the break bell goes, so they break and sit down together (I think one has a coffee and one reads the paper), then they get straight back to the pummeling after their break.
Alistair Kaname It’s alright. You see, their names didn’t stay consistent until their third cartoon released in 1955 titled “Double or Mutton”, it’s here that we finally see Ralph as the wolf and Sam as the sheepdog.
had consent workshop for my grad school orientation, and the professor who led the workshop mentioned this cartoon as a way of how we should treat each other when we're on the job, before, and then after.
I love it each day when I go to my work me and my friend say good morning to each other then we laugh about Sam and Ralph in the cartoon after we punch the clock it takes lots of imagination to think of these great cartoons I'm 60 now I've been watching for over 40 years great writing and great imagination.
I would wager, imo, that Ralph's job is to try and teach new sheepdogs to be on their toes, and to keep Sam in top form by trying to steal the sheep. Sam, on the other hand, is there to see if the training is paying off, and to see if he still has what it takes to be a bonafied sheepdog, not to mention keep Ralph on HIS toes.
Gotta love Sam's subconscious routine to always say his good morning greeting first before Ralph; as soon as Ralph breaks the cycle and greets him first, Sam finds himself stunned for a second, like his mind is going 'wait isn't that my line'
Also Ralph's predatory attitude is just him doing his job, and knew his limits: whereas Wile E. is a fanatic predator, who didn't know when to quit & had no limits!
Then that was Wile E with the black nose that clocked out. Because even he had a different name. Im surprised Chuck didnt use a different design for the wolf.
These guys deserve their own HBO Max cartoon about their off days. I mean, we have seen bits and pieces of that in these shorts, but I think that we all would like to see all that goes down between them. At the very least, an appearance or two in "Tooned Out" could suffice.
I thought so - when I was young, I thought it was Wile E. Coyote all along portraying under the alias "Ralph Wolf" due to both Wile E. and Ralph looking so alike, until I realized much later in 2008 that both Wile E. Coyote and Ralph Wolf are two completely different characters despite the two canines looking like each other, and the two even having different personalities; Ralph knows when to stop in his pursuits in chasing his prey, unlike the Coyote whom is a full-blown fanatic who'd never stop in chasing is prey.
@OtisDriftw0od & King Andrew Cecil & Stephanie Beeboo . . . back when I had black & white TV in the 1960s, I thought Ralph and Wile E. were the same. But, with color TV, I notice that Ralph has a red nose, with Wile E. has a black nose.
My favourite bit of the Ralph and Sam cartoons was the ending of one, I think the final cartoon, where they walked home together in the sunset, with a silhouetted Ralph putting his arm around Sam saying "Nice day, eh Sam?" and Sam's reply "Yep, it's great to be alive Ralph" (or something along those lines - as I realize it's the final bit of this clip). I've always loved that their dynamic together at work is just that, work. But at the end of the day, they're good friends and the fact that what happens at work is nothing personal, it's simply what they have to do.
When i went to Animation College, i used an Acme table for my work, and decades later, when i bought my house, in the basement was an Acme 5 burner gas stove. I got rid of the cast iron beast, but kept the metal Acme logo and had it framed. I still have it 20+ years later.
I grew up watching looney tunes and I'm happy to say I've reached this level of companionship with my fellow co-worker. having the ability to say "morning" and "alright see you tomorrow" at work is comforting.
Hmm... Sam left early on Tuesday? It’s ok that he clocks in an hour before Ralph but there’s no excuse to leave at 4 pm there’s major pummeling to be done

Ralph Wolf is a separate entity and a whole different character from While E Coyote even though they're practically the same model in drawings. Why not make a video explaining the differences between the two characters.
Remember watching a few of these as a kid. Loved them when I was young, but now that Ive been out in the world with a full time job myself, gotta say I have a newfound appreciation for how they handled this part of Looney Tunes. The interactions between Sam and Ralph off the clock really resonate with how the 9-5 grind is, and how what happens on the clock is just to support what happens off the clock. In the end a job is a job, and while some want to make a job their life, that separation between joy and work is important to remember.

had consent workshop for my grad school orientation, and the professor who led the workshop mentioned this cartoon as a way of how we should treat each other when we're on the job, before, and then after.
Android 16: I like the Road runner
Cell: And I like Pepe le pew!
Piccolo: And I'm a fan of Sam Sheepdog
Now I'm picturing Bugs Bunny in Goku's outfit and Daffy Duck in Vegeta's gear quick! Somebody draw this!
Android 17: I like Ralph wolf Android 18: I like Wile E. Coyote

The Saibaman did WHAT to Yamcha? Now I get why Bulma left him not long after for Vegeta.
2:03 That would've been an interesting cartoon.
WAS....JMJRuiz.
No, would've been. They never made a cartoon where Sam handled both jobs.
After many years I can finally say I relate to these two.
I love it each day when I go to my work me and my friend say good morning to each other then we laugh about Sam and Ralph in the cartoon after we punch the clock it takes lots of imagination to think of these great cartoons I'm 60 now I've been watching for over 40 years great writing and great imagination.
That last one was too wholesome I wasn't expecting that
8 people must have had pretty depressing childhoods
234 depressing childhoods.
560 depressing childhoods...
And then "they" took away the dislike counts, 'cause feewings. 🙄
Thought of these guys randomly as I clocked in from home. Same grind, different job.
Gotta love Sam's subconscious routine to always say his good morning greeting first before Ralph; as soon as Ralph breaks the cycle and greets him first, Sam finds himself stunned for a second, like his mind is going 'wait isn't that my line'
We should get a whole seiries of just these two.
They're just doing their jobs ! And they're good at it too! These are good toons right here
Notice that when comparing Ralph to Wile E. Coyote: Ralph has a red nose and Wile E. has a black nose.
Also, Ralph has a snaggletooth sticking out from his mouth, and Wile E. Coyote does not.
@@kingovharts It was easier to just change the nose and fur color and instant new character for the Looney Tunes Producers. :)
@@uanbee A coyote's gotta eat.
These guys deserve their own HBO Max cartoon about their off days. I mean, we have seen bits and pieces of that in these shorts, but I think that we all would like to see all that goes down between them. At the very least, an appearance or two in "Tooned Out" could suffice.
Man these old cartoons were the greatest
Thought he was a coyote
I thought so - when I was young, I thought it was Wile E. Coyote all along portraying under the alias "Ralph Wolf" due to both Wile E. and Ralph looking so alike, until I realized much later in 2008 that both Wile E. Coyote and Ralph Wolf are two completely different characters despite the two canines looking like each other, and the two even having different personalities; Ralph knows when to stop in his pursuits in chasing his prey, unlike the Coyote whom is a full-blown fanatic who'd never stop in chasing is prey.
I always thought so too
@OtisDriftw0od & King Andrew Cecil & Stephanie Beeboo . . . back when I had black & white TV in the 1960s, I thought Ralph and Wile E. were the same. But, with color TV, I notice that Ralph has a red nose, with Wile E. has a black nose.
Ralph has a red nose. Wile E. Coyote's is black.
Nivram Smith not for me at least. I never watched these in the old days and by like 3-4 scene figured it out
The last clip is touching, with Sam putting a hand on Ralph in friendship as they walk off.
I love these two frenemies. And they respect each other respectively
This is wholesome. Even something as simple as 'Good morning' or 'hello' can make a man's day
Ralph the wolf: Morning, Sam!
Sam: Morning Ralph! 😃
Paid to be who you are on the job. Doesn't define you. I appreciate that
My brother used to work with a guy called Sam...when they'd knock off work....theyd say this to each other lol😁😊😄
When i went to Animation College, i used an Acme table for my work, and decades later, when i bought my house, in the basement was an Acme 5 burner gas stove. I got rid of the cast iron beast, but kept the metal Acme logo and had it framed. I still have it 20+ years later.
Honestly, the most wholesome rivalry I’ve seen in any cartoon.
I love how their greetings and farewells are just so wholesome.
Ralph and Sam are the definition of professionalism.
Gee, thanks, Sam. You’re a pal.
Just because you're enemies doesn't mean you can't be civil about it.
Sam left at 4:59. Just one minute before quitting time.
Supperdude9 I say , I say I do declare you are correct my good sir. sorry my screen is blurry it looks like 4:00 instead of 4:59 thanks for your correction supperdude9, I should keep my red mane out of my eyes a little better. Ralph Wolf is a separate entity and a whole different character from While E Coyote even though they're practically the same model in drawings. Why not make a video explaining the differences between the two characters.
Ralph has a red nose and only wants sheep. Wile has a black nose and only wants the roadrunner. Problem solved.
@@Laughing_Individual Then who is Sam Wolf in the beginning of this video? A coyote in wolf's clothing?
One's more calm and easy going compared to the other.

One has a black nose, one has a red nose. Come on. LOL.
Off the clock, they really care about each other.
These two knows more about friendship and sportsmanship than any other human
