      Driver Parallel Lines. It’s a really good game that fixed most of the issues of Driver 3. But, the fact it’s open world with half of the game is set in the 70’s and the other half in present day (in 2006) with all the building and vehicle changes (and this was the PS2 generation) is quite impressive

    Shadow of the Ninja was a game I actually grew up with. I played it for 3 years before I realized you could sacrifice some of your life to summon a lightning strike by pressing and holding B for a few seconds. In case you didn’t know Joe since I don’t think it’s in the instruction book. Definitely helps with the bosses.

    • @BasementBrothers
      @BasementBrothers 2 года назад +7

      The thing about Shadow of the Ninja is we always knew of its existence from magazines, but it seems every game store and rental place in town refused to carry it. Probably due to a mixture of both the fact that it wasn't that common a title and just bad luck. Didn't get to play it until we picked up a used copy in I think 1998 or 1999. My brother and I had a blast for a few solid days learning the game together and finishing it. Felt like the classic 2-player NES game that we should have grown up with.

    I actually really like the flame spell sound. It's very much a product of it's time and I love it. One of my favorite things in mystic defender.

    Dino Strike for the Wii. A completely overlooked rail shooter in the same vein as Sega's Lost World arcade game.
    Corridor 7 for MS-DOS. I think it's publisher/developer Capstone is why people mostly turned their nose up at this one, but it's a pretty good Wolfenstein-powered Doom Clone!

    Glad to see Shadow of the Ninja/Blue Shadow get some recognition. It's a nice game, and I absolutely love the ending tune.
    I guess one game I rarely see anyone mention is Firepower 2000/Super SWIV. It's not revolutionary, but it's a good shoot'em up with a great intro tune and good sound design.

    Rambo 3 on the Sega Genesis is a criminally overlooked game in my opinion.

    Mystic Defender is so overlooked, we all overlooked that it was covered on a previous GameSack episode! (Episode 72: Overlooked Gems, Feb. 10, 2013)
