Thank you for your video. Can i inquire if you can make video about kia app and how we can link it with the ev vehicle. And the entertainment system review For kia ev vehicle.
Linking it with your vehicle should be as simple as setting up an account and adding your VIN, then confirming the passcode in the vehicle. I can't do that since I've already done that in my car.
Just got a used 23 ev6 gt-line with ~5,600 miles. I've owned it for 3 days and got in it this morning to leave and got a "Check electric vehicle system" followed by "Stop vehicle and check power supply". Does this mean the issue has already happened or is this a message they are just pushing to get people to drop them off for the recall asap? My dealership can't get me in till the end of the month so trying to determine if I can drive it till the appointment or not. Going to assume the answer is a no.. Have dealers been giving loaner vehicles while this is being dealt with?
Unfortunately that likely means the issue is happening. Definitely don't drive it. You'll probably end up stranded on the side of the road and need a tow. And yes, for a warranty issue like ICCU replacement, most people are getting loaner vehicles.
i might one who needs the ICCU replacement. i had that strange pop-up to check battery and stop driving. as i was trying to drive the 4 miles to the Gainesville dealer, i made it a mile and car barely was able to creep. when the tow truck arrived it gave me the last warning to remove accessories and the 12 volt battery was basically dead
Hey Jeff thanks for all the great video. I am a GT oner myself too!! Just got it 2weeks ago. I am thinking of getting a Tesla mobile connector as my condo does not allow mounting an EV charger. I have seen your video of EV dance and Lectron Tesla to J1772 and they both seems pretty good. DO you have any recommendations out of the two? I would preferable wont something that would have less connection issues. Thanks!
Thanks man. Just to be clear, there's no consumer-facing way to see this recall (Kia app, NTSB site, etc), but the dealer can see it and get it done. Is that correct?
Ah keep in mind the ICCU update isn't a fix for a 12v issue. It only "fixes" the ICCU, whether that's replacing it if needed or updating the software so it doesn't fail. The dealership may have let the 12v battery get too low when running the software update unfortunately.
This car was designed a few years ago and vehicle systems weren't tied in to the OTA updates. Only infotainment system updates come OTA. Newer vehicles like the EV9 can get full OTA updates. And the new EV6 is going to be released this year and be capable of full OTA updates.
@@TechnicallyJeff I have a 2016 Tesla model S with 130k miles on it. It has been receiving OTA updates for the last 8 years. It has never once had to go to the dealer for a software update.
@TechnicallyJeff We need to clarify that not every EV6 produced in that timeframe will be on the current recall list. It's very strange how they are rolling this out.

I just took an appointement for my EV6 new wheels at my local Canadian Kia Dealership and the ICCU recall just pumped up in the system! So yeah!! 🙂
awesome! that's perfect timing haha
It hasn't shown up in my app yet, but when I scheduled my 8000-mile service today, the recall was mentioned. Nice!
Nice! Yeah it doesn't show in my app either, but if I go to schedule service in the app it shows up.
@@TechnicallyJeff Just got the SC302 recall notification tonight. Guess I'll be beating the rush lol
Yeah it started showing in my app now. And my appointment is in just under a month lol.

Excellent my next service appointment is coming up !

Oh no, yeah that sounds like the ICCU. Hopefully it's a quick repair!
i got a loaner from the dealer, it’s a new sportage but i liked my gt turbo soul better
@@stuartgrossberg9313 I do like the sportage honestly. Good space inside
Not listed for my vin at the KIA recall site -- I assume they flashed your GT? I booked myself in for Friday at my dealership
My appt isn't got another month unfortunately. Check your app. When I try to schedule service it shows in there now.

Awesome! Congrats! I would probably get the EV Dance one since it costs less. There isn't really much of a difference in quality.
Thanks ❤
Happy to help!
Got mine done yesterday and still have a dead 12v battery thing morning. Been having to jump it for months even after a new battery :(
That's no bueno. What kind of battery do you have? Normal lead acid? AGM? LiFePO4?
Did u post this on your webpage? I print the recall. Last time i went to the dealership, they required me to fill out forms with the recall numbers
Yes I did
Thanks man. Just to be clear, there's no consumer-facing way to see this recall (Kia app, NTSB site, etc), but the dealer can see it and get it done. Is that correct?
You can see the details on the nhtsa site be year make model but not VIN. It should show on the Kia website/app soon though.
I had the update complete last week but it did not fix the issue. car is back at dearship for more troubleshooting
What issue are you having?
@@TechnicallyJeff after car 12 volt system was dead. waiting to see what dearship is going to do. They were nice I have a lower new 2024 EV6

Wait, you have to go to the dealer to get a software update? Why can’t you get it over the air like the leading manufacturers do?

Yeah that's how Teslas have been designed for a while

What do you mean?
I can't be the only one who pronounces it ICK-oo.
😅😅😅
If only Hyundai/Kia could push software updates like Tesla. Easily done parked in your garage.
Yeah newer vehicles like the EV9 can
i get updated pushed all the time but they are infotainment updates i think
Yeah only infotainment for the EV6.
Man! You should of Bought a Tesla! This would be a good deal, IF, IF Kia, had their Own charging infrastructure in Place. To Bad for You...
What? Lol
