George Foreman is a class act... Muhammad Ali is a hero.
They didn't show how Foreman helped Ali up the stairs. Foreman and Ali both great people.
grigsolve its amazing, I grew up watching and adoring Ali for his victory against the big bad Foreman, yet many years later I love both these amazing athletes! May God grant Muhammad Ali heaven and May Jesus bless George Foreman! Love you both!
My favourite oscars moment of all time
My girlfriends grandfather is Leon Gast (the guy who called Ali on stage)
I agree
A legend died today, may he rest in peace.
Proud to say I was head of creative advertising at Gramercy at that time and got to meet these incredible people. Met Ali! Such a thrill. Creating trailers and posters for this was a joy.
So cool!
It really sucks knowing how the world missed out on great Ali quotes, interviews, and all around wholesome, great, kind, and funny moments because of his Parkinsons disease. The greatest of all time, not only for his boxing, but for his really kind and respectful nature, when he wasnt trash talking other fighters atleast
Yeah there is a interview from him with nikki giovanni where he is really calm and different
My girlfriends grandfather is Leon Gast, the director of the documentary. I’ve never gotten a chance to talk to him about his stories with Muhammad Ali because he is suffering from Alzheimer’s. I had the honor of watching the documentary with him but he couldn’t tell me any of his stories.
Jeez man. U dated the granddaughter of the film director unbelievable lol. Did he welcome u into the family
the strange thing about Parkinsons is that all his mental faculties are still fully in tact. This disease breaks down teh body, but through the whole thing, youre completely lucid. Ali forever.
+910085 good luck with your parkinson, I hope they will find a cure for you and all the others with parkinson.
RIP Leon Gast (March 10, 1936 - March 8, 2021), aged 84
And
RIP Muhammad Ali (January 17, 1942 - June 3, 2016), aged 74
You both will be remembered as legends.
Ali and Foreman became very great friends. George helped him to walk up the stairs to receive the award. Parkinson's disease is a very bad condition, he and Michael J. Fox suffers from this. Foreman is a big hearted guy.
I love you Muhammad Ali! I hate what Parkinsons did to my hero. What a moment, you can see James Woods barely holding himself together. I get choked up every time I see this video
Beautiful image at the end of this clip--Ali and Foreman on stage.
Fuck yeah! Two of the greatest heavyweight champions of all time together on stage.
it misses a little Joe Frazier
The Greatest. Period
Two favorite boxers Muhammad Ali and George Foreman now that is a treat to watch those two at the same time being next to each other
When We Were Kings was excellent documentary.
Ali gave absolutely everything to the sport and to the world. Greatest sportsman of the century by a mile
Ali was a hero. It was so nice to see him walk upon that stage with George Foreman...
George Foreman helped Ali to get on the stage ... Respect
I've never seen this documentary before but tonight seems like a fitting night to watch it.
you won't regret it. it's a beautiful film about a very unique point in time.
+thepodbaydoorshal I certainly did not regret it. Fantastic documentary.
Best documentary u will ever watch
The best
If u want to know about the best man of the 20th century the documentary is definitely a must watch.
Ironic how will smith gave Ali an award 5 years before he played him
they made that movie waay too soon and did a terrible job of it. they did it that way to make will Smith a megastar actor because of the association with ali. Someone needs to remake the ali biopic.
I thought the movie was really great.. but I'd love another one. Can never get enough Ali lol
the movie was good undeniable but it didn't do ali himself enough justice.
Nope. That's called coincidence.

I honestly thought it was pretty good. Might watch it tonight.
Everyone in this video includes audience how much they love Mohammed Ali
Thank you very much for this video
How would Will Smith imagine that after 4 years he would play in Ali!
RIP Leon Gast and Muhammad Ali
thats my grandfather :D God rest his soul
Amazing. When u have other accomplished people who are famous and they r praising u know ur one of a kind. Thats ultimate masculine achievement getting praised for being a legend
I thought the best standing ovation at the Oscar’s ever was for Sidney Poitier in 2002 but this one beats it.
Fantastic music!
I always remember one Academy Awards review that year saying that Muhammad Ali should have gotten Best Actor, only that he wasn't acting.
what a moment
Will Smith is so happy when they announce it 1:00
1:00
A magnificent documentary.
How touching was it seeing George help Ali to the stage
Hollywood a list stars star struck seeing Ali in person.
Unbelievable man. And they are all accomplished people who have reached the highest levels of success and they still loved and respected ali. Unbelievable I can't stop watching the introduction.
Ali boomayeh
Best sportsman in history.
İ think we are the luckyst generation because we seen ali, Jordan, phelps, usain Bolt, Messi, federer and Schumacher. They are greatest sportsman in each spor.
Ronaldo > Messy
the greatest of all time, muhammad ali
I cry
RIP Muhammad Ali
Man I cried watching this ❤
The greatest
Kinda funny how Will Smith is up there, 5 years later he'd be the one playing ali!
Sonenberg with the double diss to that mans handshake.
ALI & FOREMAN we love them
0:16 Could've sworn it sounded like The Lion King instead of The Line King.
This man truly loves Muhammed 3:45
🐐
3:37 amazing, she always looks old, that must be some kind of gift.
Love Ali
It’s crazy that at that time George foreman could still fuck up most heavyweight contenders
The only time Agent K and Agent K could go out without having to nueralyze or go in secret
Ali looks like Norm McDonald here! And look how gorgeous Winona Ryder looks -- wow!
3:47 Mel Gibson's trying to get a better look.
Ali bigger than boxing
The boxing kings
Someone explain to Will what black tie means.
Hey Ali, 68,000 brave men and women never came back to cheer you and George Foreman during that night.
when documentary(feature) dealt with issues other than politics good times!
Who's the actress at 03:15 ?
Oh look at the B. Every single time
Muhammad Ali The Greatest Of All Time!
3:16
Ali the greatest 💯😎
They ban ali in late 60s what could've been his true prime years
What makes you so sure? Death is only the beginning.... you have been warned.
Muhammad Ali was the best actor that year, only that he wasn't acting.
1 John 2:15-17
Apparently, after the winner was announced - Will Smith went up to the other 4 nominees and said: "DENIED! SIT DOWN!!!"
George could have still knocked out everybody in that auditorium. Too bad, the Greatest would have frowned upon such a thing. It would have been nice to see Big George knock some sense into those conceited fools.
Foreman actually did go two more fights after the Oscars. And it was two tough fights. A win against Lou Savarese and that last fight against Shannon Briggs. No he didn´t lose that fight. No way. But just watch that interview after that fight. What a man, no hard feelings and bad loser mentality there.
Wait shannob briggs fought geroge foreman? 😲😲😲 what tf when did they fight bruh
Ironic that Will Smith presented this
lol Foreman did a faux pass when he stood up and then sat back down like 5 times
*slap*
Who the hell let Rodman in?
ironically pplayed ali
why ali and foreman are in this oscars
+Nicolas Lopez "When We Were Kings" is movie about their fight in Zaire, in which Ali regained the title, and the movie got nominated for (and won) the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. Plus, if you noticed, Ali had trouble getting up the steps due to his Parkinson's disease, and Foreman helped him up the stairs.
god,do u not have mercy on the man who used to smile to everyone and treat everyman like his brother.....why did u cripple him?why it had to be ali?
Sougata Sarkar boxing is no joke
Sougata Sarkar god madr him great, apreciate what he did
Patricia Arquette
Seems to me like sonnenberg didn't really like foreman
horrible to see Ali in this state
wtf is wrong with james woods..shaking his head like a popsicle...very strange
So sad to see mohammad Ali
Parkinson showing its effect. Yet the guy managed to stay around for nearly 20 years. I admire Ali as a boxer. He is the greatest but I never liked his arrogance. Ya he is great but a little modesty couldn't hurt.
That was to hype up the fight. Muhammad ali said in an interview after he retired that he never thought he was the greatest but by keep on saying it. He made everyone believe it
Muhammad Ali is the closest thing to god for you?! Well Muhammad Ali is a Muslim who believes in Allah..... Ali would not like what you said.
Allah is God
No love, you're wrong there. The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived would be Jesus Christ. Ali is the Greatest Boxer who ever lived and an inspiration. With respect.
Ali believed in jesus. Show some respect for a legend in fact ali is closer to jesus than u are.
Whatever man.
