Canada. May I just say that I wasn’t a “Captain Jack Sparrow Fan” as I’ve heard AH mention. I hadn’t seen any of the Pirates movies; I had some older Johnny Depp favourite movies of mine but when this whole court case started I wasn’t a die hard Depp fan. I didn’t know who Amber Heard was and I definitely didn’t have a side.
I can say unequivocally that I’m a die hard Johnny fan now; I was always some kind of fan of the actor but I’m completely amazed by the man. It’s not a politically motivated opinion or conclusion it’s just the feeling I had in the pit of my stomach. I can agree that we’re all flawed but his flaws didn’t involve cruelty and gaslighting and manipulation and deception. And I’m completely supportive of women; I sat and watch Christine Blassey-Ford testify and I believed in my heart that she was telling the truth. And that she was a victim. Well I believe in my heart that Johnny was telling the truth and I believe that he was victimized. We’re so quick to preach about inclusivity for everyone and it’s important but it’s also important to remember that being white, male and straight does not shield you from being targeted or being victimized.

I’ve heard actors from the 80’s and 90’s that became extremely successful talk about Nicolas Cage time and time again now. He had a huge home in California and he let a lot of young, less successful, actors stay there in the 80’s. The guy truly is a beautiful soul for inspiring so many and helping build their artistic confidence

Johnny Depp is indeed a beautiful Soul. It doesn’t define anyone, if they do something wrong in life. A lot of negative feedback back on here with some people. It's heart-breaking listening to him and knowing what he's endured throughout his life, and he never complains about it, he simply keeps going forward as best he can, and he's inspiring. He's a unique human being who's deep and thoughtful, who's kindness and generosity is endless, and he's like no one else we'll probably ever experience in our lifetimes. He's a victim, he's a survivor, and maybe now he can simply be and find better things to come. He deserves that much.
Only two hard core empaths have made it to the silver screen. Johnny Depp and Robin Williams. Both radiate something that is awfully hard to find in this world and you can see it by how much they are being loved and how people care for them. There's a lot of very successful artists who are truly loved by the public but these two stand out for their extremely humane character imo.

It's funny how he said he didn't want to be the product, but then he did become the product, again. His roles in the Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Harry Potter franchise. Those were products and he was defined by them. If he wasn't the product, why would being cancelled be such a big deal? He could have walked away and not cared. He could have just disappeared.

I met him in '83 in a small club in LA. He was playing in his band, the Kids. My (now ex) was also a guitar player and during the band breaks he sat with us. We were in the process of moving to LA and we talked about so many things we had in common. He mentioned he was struggling, trying to get more work. My husband gave him some advice, Stay in LA, there's more opportunity here. He was as kind and soft-spoken then as he is now.

Watching him on the stand, telling the truth, no matter how painful and horrible it was, and seeing different videos where he goes to hospitals dressed as Captain Jack, and hearing how other actors talked positively about him, I fell in love. In the event I win the lottery, I imagine myself not being terribly different, and it doesn't bother me when I buy a ticket and don't win because I don't NEED that money like some people think they do to be complete somehow. I already had major respect for Johnny for his hospital visits, now that one saying gained me more respect for him. (When I turned 50, it wasn't a huge deal for me either, further, and that was 4 years ago already)

I can relate to him because I had a very dysfunction family too. He is genuine & sincere.
Johnny, for me, was no longer just that person "the heartthrob" that I used to have on my poster on my wall when I was a teen or that wonderful actor who helped to make all these great films, but he was made real. He was put front and center for everyone to see. And we see him and he's a beautiful man.

You managed to pull through it and persevere, I on the other hand have fallen in my latter years never even getting a chance to have a life until I was 30. I'm now 60, about 12 years ago I built a Log Cabin in the woods where I'm totally isolated away from civilization if you can call it that. It's just me and my dog Sal. I've lost everything too many times down to the clothes on my back and resorted to isolation to avoid the users and abusers and hopefully pass away in peace. I don't have much time left. I'm 60. I was 6'-1" in my prime and 200 lbs strong as an ox until major back surgery took an inch of my height. In the last year, I went from 190 lbs to 134 lbs. I simply can't afford to eat and am not allowed to have a firearm to hunt in Canada due to political insanity. You have brought real entertainment into my life. We're both guitar players and creative to the core, with a deep insightful inherent knowledge of human behaviour. I can read people like a restaurant menu which has been a learned skill over many years but it was always there since childhood I believe some foster as a means of survival... You are one of the few actors I admire, there are likely three, perhaps 4 others through all the years movies and entertainment have been distributed. Too much has changed in that industry and very little for the good of the people. God Bless You, Johnny Depp, keep it together but not to tightly wrapped.

I am glad I came to see this video, because it has made me feel that this sad feeling has to happen. It is meaningful. Things will get better for my husband and me once we get his visa. In the meantime, I want my husband to know I am very proud of him and that he is so good to me that I our marriage has been an achievement that I never imagined could be as it is and I thank him for helping me believe in our marriage as an ongoing miracle.

When Johnny talked about working with actors that were in some was “damaged” that really resonated with me. After many years doing different things some of my friends working in disability support convinced me to give it a go. After 2 years working in a charity that is also funded by the NDIS in Australia I couldn’t be happier. During that time and getting to know my colleagues I’ve realised what seems to be a universal truth in our field. We are all people that are a bit damaged or broken in some way helping other people that are more damaged and broken than us. It’s opened my eyes to many things and it’s rewarding on so many levels. Getting paid for helping people when you feel like you would do it for free is amazing and healing. The relationships and understanding you can build up with people that may only be able to communicate yes and no and sometimes not even that is mind blowing. Establishing personal jokes between you and just generally trying to bring some fun, sunshine and learning into their lives whilst looking after their personal needs with as much comfort and dignity as possible is motivating and you always strive to do better. But most of all you learn to appreciate the life you have and look at it with a whole new set of eyes.
Isn't it amazing to actually see how what Johnny endured in childhood has made him the man he is? Brilliant actor and a genuinely laissez fairer, humble guy.

I’ve seen the question many of times .. “what celebrity would you like to meet and have a conversation with” I never had an answer because sure there are some that I do admire the person they are but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter they are just people.
