I've watched this video a number of times, over the past several years. Each time, I wonder how that young lady is doing, since it was filmed in 2017. I hope her life has improved, and got a little easier for her, since then; as I do for all of them.

I seen an interview with Johnny Depp, he said that this was not a planned visit. He said he was filming near the hospital and decided to do this visit. What a wonderful thing for him to do.
My disabled son was an in patient at great Ormond street hospital London when Johnny visited the children wards in his famous Jack Sparrow costume. He spent over 4 hours with the children and he gave them 100 percent of his attention. He was engaging, warm, humble, gentle and genuinely kind. He brought so much happiness that afternoon to so many sick children, some with terminal illnesses. I will be forever grateful to Johnny for putting a smile on my little boys face at a dark time in his young life. To be falsely labelled a 'wife beater' is a terrible thing. He is very brave to stand in A London court everyday for 3 weeks and to have his personal life exposed for the world to see. The British public love him and he has so much support here. I hope he wins his case. I'm team Johnny all the way #TeamJohnny

Small-talk with very sick children isn't easy. Not just from the conversational perspective, but keeping it together emotionally. And he's ad libbing everything. Very thoughtful and kind!
The strength these children have is amazing. I commend him for his also. I got lost in a hospital once. Ended up in the children's cancer wing. I saw 2 children both bald. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I was an emotional wreck for the rest of the week. Always brings a smile to my face seeing people bring or try to bring some fun and happiness to these kids.

Busy Bee I am not going to comment on Johnny D. because I don't know the guy or what happened in his marriage but as someone who was in a mentally and sometimes physically abusive relationship for 10 years, you can't tell if someone is abusive by a 5 minute video. Everyone loved my ex too. He was always helping elderly people and donating food and money to the homeless. He was good to our dogs, good around children and my family...but behind closed doors he was capable of punching holes in the walls, ripping my clothes, breaking my glasses, taking my cell or having service turned off so I couldn't make calls, pinning me up against the walls while spitting in my face and screaming, grabbing hair and shaking my head like he was going to slam it against the wall. Yes I had to call the cops on him and I took pics every time he damaged something and I saved every threatening text from him in case something "happened" to me...You never really know someone until you live with them.

I've actually heard his friends describe him as quite social and outgoing, generally, despite the fact that he is pretty shy/socially anxious. He likes to have fun and have a good time, they say. And many in his life noted that changed after Amber entered his life. He became more withdrawn and recluse.

I've done construction work in Iowa City at the university children's hospital. We had EXTREMELY limited contact with the patients/families other than the fact we were in the same building and would sometimes pass in the public areas. And that place f'ing wrecked me. Seeing the faces of the parents who's kids are there for whatever reason (none of them good, you don't go to UICH for the sniffles) was gut wrenching. I have a son that was young at the time, and all I could think was "there, but for the grace of God, go I." ANYONE that works with and helps these kids deserves the blessings of a thousand gods.
I don't know that he smiled once he left each room! He has a very sensitive soul, a true feeling heart. He's a saint in many ways. He was hooked on to a "she-devil" that resembled his Mom. I'm sure Johnny Depp also feels like he's nothing without Jack Sparrow. That role is a part of his soul that he isn't too afraid to share with the entire world and it would be an insult to denigrate that legacy because of a vengeful woman.

My disabled son was an in patient at great Ormond street hospital London when Johnny visited the children wards in his famous Jack Sparrow costume. He spent over 4 hours with the children and he gave them 100 percent of his attention. He was engaging, warm, humble, gentle and genuinely kind. He brought so much happiness that afternoon to so many sick children, some with terminal illnesses. I will be forever grateful to Johnny for putting a smile on my little boys face at a dark time in his young life. To be falsely labelled a 'wife beater' is a terrible thing. He is very brave to stand in A London court everyday for 3 weeks and to have his personal life exposed for the world to see. The British public love him and he has so much support here. I hope he wins his case. I'm team Johnny all the way #TeamJohnny

The strength these children have is amazing. I commend him for his also. I got lost in a hospital once. Ended up in the children's cancer wing. I saw 2 children both bald. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I was an emotional wreck for the rest of the week. Always brings a smile to my face seeing people bring or try to bring some fun and happiness to these kids.

Busy Bee I am not going to comment on Johnny D. because I don't know the guy or what happened in his marriage but as someone who was in a mentally and sometimes physically abusive relationship for 10 years, you can't tell if someone is abusive by a 5 minute video. Everyone loved my ex too. He was always helping elderly people and donating food and money to the homeless. He was good to our dogs, good around children and my family...but behind closed doors he was capable of punching holes in the walls, ripping my clothes, breaking my glasses, taking my cell or having service turned off so I couldn't make calls, pinning me up against the walls while spitting in my face and screaming, grabbing hair and shaking my head like he was going to slam it against the wall. Yes I had to call the cops on him and I took pics every time he damaged something and I saved every threatening text from him in case something "happened" to me...You never really know someone until you live with them.

What's even more admirable about this is that Depp has social anxiety. As a sufferer, myself, I know this must be challenging for him to be among groups of people interacting. It would be much easier for him to avoid these scenarios and stay home and donate money instead but he chose a more difficult route. Kudos to him.

I've actually heard his friends describe him as quite social and outgoing, generally, despite the fact that he is pretty shy/socially anxious. He likes to have fun and have a good time, they say. And many in his life noted that changed after Amber entered his life. He became more withdrawn and recluse.

It is just deserts. In the meantime, Johnny Depp is becoming more popular especially with those, like me, who thought he was just another entitled, egotistical, self-centered movie star. I'm so glad I found the truth, I truly admire this man.

The amount of tears Johnny probably held back doing this is admirable. I caught a few times where it looked like he was getting choked up but made a joke. Especially with the little boy that he was asking to sit up and the boy did but you could tell on his face it was hard and Johnny kind of ran/joked away but came back. He has nothing but empathy. I pray for him to have such a great life as well as I pray for the children and families in that hospital. ❤

I've done construction work in Iowa City at the university children's hospital. We had EXTREMELY limited contact with the patients/families other than the fact we were in the same building and would sometimes pass in the public areas. And that place f'ing wrecked me. Seeing the faces of the parents who's kids are there for whatever reason (none of them good, you don't go to UICH for the sniffles) was gut wrenching. I have a son that was young at the time, and all I could think was "there, but for the grace of God, go I." ANYONE that works with and helps these kids deserves the blessings of a thousand gods.
