I don't watch movies or TV, but what Johnny does for kids is absolutely phenomenal, and for that I think he is one of the greats. My teenage son was seriously ill in hospital and a well known hockey team paid them a visit. Afterwards he told me how it made the pain go away for a while. Johnny gets this.

Well I guess we owe a debit of gratitude to Nick Cage?! I love Johnny Depp and even more now as I lived in 13 houses by the time I was 18 and that has affected me very much as an adult. I'm always feeling like the ground is going to be pulled out from under me at any moment.
That has to be a horrible feeling! Like being in fight or flight mode all of the time. Our house burned down and we lost everything. Everyone made it out fine, no smoke inhalation. Sure that was more horrific but to never fully feel grounded, secure! I'd think I would be having panic attacks all of the time. How do you deal with that growing up? A lot of soul searching, he's had to do. In my opinion I think Johnny , in interviews like this, has always been brutally honest about himself! He admits his faults and does it humbly in doing so makes a connection with others. He's just so sweet!
How did Johnny Depp get in the same circle as Nicolas Cage. Cages uncle Coppola had already been a Oscar recipient, his aunt Talia shire … performed in Rocky in ‘76. This was a family already had their grips in Hollywood. I’m just curious how JD got in with Nicolas Cage.

@@Lucia-sd9um Im not too sure about that. Sometimes friends, even long-time friends can hurt you. Many times unintentionally, but hurt nonetheless. If your heart is compassionate and loving, you can still make very meaningful friendships in adulthood. Many of us have to anyway, due to childhood friends moving away, or college friends getting married and life just changing for us all. Present yourself as a friendly person, and you will make acquaintances, that may later turn into friends. The problems come when we try to make friends too fast. Some acquaintances are meant to be just that and can be meaningful, but not on a close friend level. But when you do have friends, that friendship needs to be respected and nurtutred for it to grow. 💕

One of the best actors ever and it's a shame he's never won an Oscar with all the great roles he's done. His portrayal of Hunter S. Thompson in fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was one of the most genius performances I've ever seen in my life. I really look forward to seeing more of him in the future after his nasty divorce and defamation trial. The man's going on 60 years old and I would like to see him get some good roles again and hopefully Hollywood doesn't ostracize him. Edit: He is also a good human being and that's another reason why I like him so much. He seems like a very genuine and compassionate guy. During that trial I kept rooting for him. I can't stand Amber Heard and what she's done to him in the past five years is despicable. Too bad he fell for that evil bitch. Glad it's over so he can continue to do what he does best and entertain people.

Johnny Depp is a truly brilliant man who has remained true to himself in his approach to acting. The vow to only do the jobs that he wanted to do and be passionate about every character he has played, takes integrity and strength of character. To remain true to himself and do what he does best, bringing so much joy and laughter to so many people, and even the films that can bring tears to your eyes, his ability to commit himself with everything he has into every role, rather than being a product of Hollywood and only interested in insanely huge paychecks.
He is such an inspiration and so humble, a really beautiful soul, the world is so much richer for Johnny Depp being who he is, a humble, loving, caring, giving man.

Johnny is one of my closest and best friends. I've known him since childhood. He was always the one who ran to help someone in need. Whether they were getting bullied, or if they didn't have any dinner money, Johnny would be there to help. Growing up we were in the same colleges and he was the same. I gave him my guitar which he started to play. I also play a bit. I had 2m so I gave him one because he was my best friend.
I was there when Nicholas cage asked him to meet his agent. Johnny didn't want to but I told him, I said it could be the break you have been waiting for. Never let an opportunity go. And he said ok. He will do it. The rest is history.
He is one of the most humble guys ever. I've of the real good guys in Hollywood, and there's not many of them trust me. I know them all.
I'm so proud of what he had achieved, to the world he is Johnny Depp, the famous actor. But to me he is my best friend.

People with ADHD experience more intense emotions than the norm, and problems with impulse control. ADHD can lead to problematic behaviour towards other people in that respect, fits of anger often being a part of the picture.

A wonderfull piece, thank you. I'm such a fan. I'm touched that moving so much as a child was normal, so of course, moving from one outlandish character (in the best possible ways) to another character is normal for Depp. Just brilliant. I'm sad he found Jump Street so miserable. He and that show were very important to me at the time. It was a promise that your bad mistakes and decisions, and your bad environment, could be turned into positivity and societal good. Thete is nothing better in life than doing good for others. I needed that then. Isn't that what he was saying about living in the present, not beating yourself up about the past, and pushing through the fear of the future, moving forward? I think Jump Street personified that, and actually personifies Depps own philosophy. And because he went on to bring us all so much joy, and that was his sole intent. I wish him the best outcome from what has often seemed tragically self destructive.

I’ve been through so much and would love to sit down and have this casual discussion with Johnny just about “life” and how he views it. His words, his thoughts and feelings are very inspiring and just remind you that you as a person are in total control of yourself and that others that come into your life will just “take the wheel” if you allow them to do so, just because we are or can be “too kind”. An amazing individual and my most favorite actor/ musician /artist since I was a smallish child. Your wisdom, and your strength and courage speak volumes. The way you choose to face everything in your path head on, You never hide or run. And you You carry on no matter what. You lead with positivity and without the influence of others.
