Just to be clear, the BMW is most certainly not my car! I was making a joke. In all seriousness, we had such a good time filming this video, I hope you guys can see that there is a difference between spending £1500, and £8000! Although I'm not sure which one sounds better! What do you guys think?
hey bea, watching these videos brought to me so much experience!! I wanna let ya know that. I'm grateful for it! keep it coming, boyyyyyy you guys rock!!
Agree. I like seeing different ways that players get close to iconic sounds, whether it's limited run custom shop stuff or budget friendly gear. Personally, I think they've come pretty damn close using the budget stuff in some of the episodes, but it's probably a little easier to hear the difference in the room. The videos probably need to stay under a certain timeline, but it would be great to hear Rabea and Matt A/B more of the gear in pursuit of tone (ie. try a couple different pedals on screen and debate which one sounds closer to the artist they're trying to sound like).
You completely nailed the solo in Sweet Child... great job Rabea. As you all said, the expensive rig just hits it right on the head, listening over the mains here in a studio it sounds great.
The Les Paul copy Slash used for AFD was not a Chinese copy. The guitar was a Les Paul copy but it was made by luthier Kris Derrig. Just incase anyone wanted to know.
@Nonya Bizness I'm thinking Slash did all the bed tracks with the other guitars, and all the leads and overdubs were done with the Kris Derrig LP copy.
Sorry guys you are playing it all wrong and also the gear is wrong and it's all wrong... and I know better, because I am better, and I would do this better... Honestly some people need to do something else other than comment on videos ha ha. Great video guys :-)
Rob i honestly believe Rabea no pissing in the pocket , is one of the most versatile and talented guitarist yet to crack it big. i thought it was wonderful you did a bea signature guitar , who at his age and stage in career can boast (not that he would) having a sig guitar ! it would be great to see him take up a lead guitar in a backing band gig with a big name , to get his profile out there. i also really enjoy you and the captain and Dorje. I am a professional FOH sound engineer and work in the uk on the festival circuit every couple of years, as a break from some of the shit i have to mix here in the US. i have been in the industry for 20 plus years and although not in the position to be over picky who i work with i do have ethics and refuse to auto tune live ! i hope our paths cross at some time as i would love to mix you guys as i watch yours and adertons videos for hours at end. peace out
Slash didn't play a Chinese knock off Les Paul! It was actually an 8 string George Formby signature ukulele , drop tuned and fitted with pickups salvaged from the Hendrix strat that was burned in the Isle of Wight festival. True story.
Izzy's tone is hard to define. AFD was mostly a ES-175 and a Les Paul Custom, but later (UYI albums) he used those in addition to Teles, ES-335s, and many different amps. Good job on nailing his lower gain counterbalance to Slash. Most people think GNR is really gain heavy stuff, but Izzy using mostly full-hollowbody guitars and vintage style amps with lower gain was the perfect balance against Slash's, actually very thin, lead tones.
Chill out people. The biggest tone of all time, sales wise, and the bass is important. I really like the interplay of the three and I’m not a fan at all.
For me, the best "busting the bank" video yet, and I have watched them all. Matt and Rabea go so well together and the combined knowledge is awesome. Rabea is able to play so many styles, spot on and seemingly effortlessly. Wonderful.
Sounded great guys. As far I remember Slash didn't play any Chibson guitars, they're actually beatifully hand made by Derrig of California. Correct me anyone, if I'm wrong.
One of Lemmy's Rics wasn't authentic either (IIRC it was the maple one with white binding.) He sent a few basses to Rickenbacker to have them fixed up a bit, and they discovered that it was a fake. It was a _very_ good one though, but there were a few small details that it lacked that a real Ric would've had.
It's just perfect. I challenge anyone to do any better than that, who aren't named Slash and/or Izzy. It's now three years later, and I just keep coming back to this one.
I scared the hell out of my wife when I started singing Welcome to the Jungle at the top of my lungs when you guys were ripping that riff out! Great job guys! Bob in Germany
you cant get a new cream colored one, you have to buy a white les paul custom and play it for 20 years in the sun and in smokey bars to get the cream color.
Yeah... a couple of grands. On a serious note: Yes, there's quite some tonal difference. I think this Slash sound is closer to what I usually hear of Slash than the 500-Slash-sound, and I like it a lot. This Izzy sound, however... I don't know how close it is, but to me it sounds worse than the 500-Izzy-sound and I don't like it a bit.
ruclips.net/video/JA6SBMXWAXw/видео.html Now on a scale of 1 to 9000 how big of a prat do you look now ? can you still see the 1 from where you are or did it vanish over the horizon ?
They get it wrong alot. Watch the Sound like Tool video. I love Rabea and Anderton's but they really don't do they're homework on the artist's actual gear,
wildcatter63 the original didn’t disappear. Slash rented it to record appetite and never returned it. Then his tech took it in to the same store slash rented it from to have it worked on and they ran the serial number and saw it was “stolen” and they repoed it.
Exactly, he pointed te guys name even, in the Max interview, when he played an acoustic set with Myles Kennedy... It was done because Gibson was not making the reissues yet, and that guitar was an exact 59 replica...
Sidenote: Locomotive is so good....and the estranged solos are spectacular....very melodic and piano-like....slash is wonderful.. Great vid as always guys
That would be cool but It would be really easy, they both use easy to find signature guitars and theres a video online about their tech going over amps and pedals.
My boys and I have just started to learn guitar and we love these videos. Thanks for putting out so much information and showing us how it should be done.
a fake and a handmade copy are two very different things bud. a fake is a shitty chinese copy like they referred to. and chris derrig was a phenomenal luthier. i would take that over whatever shit came of the gibson line any day.
fake is an awfully negative connotation to a wonderfully crafted instrument that was made by hand with more attention than whatever they were rolling off the line. especially in the 80's. however you look at it it certainly wasn't a chinese fake as they called it. as having owned a few theirs a quantum difference.
yeah, i understand. But someone tagged a Gibson logo on the headstock, and its non original. We are disputing connotation of words. knockoff, fake, imitation, copy... just take it as a denotation.
The guitar wasn't a Chinese one :) It was made by a luthier in America (Kris Derig) and the amp he used was an old Marshall 100W Tremolo head with the tube for the tremolo added to the Pre-amp to get more gain ;)
I know, but that was without busting the bank. To get close to Matt Bellamy's tone I think they should try busting the bank and use some really expensive gear :P
They should definitely do MUSE BY busting the bank. I'd love to see them either buy/build a Matt-O-Caster with the Zvex Fuzz Factory, Fernandes Sustainer & the KAOSS pad in it. -Along with a setup as close to his pedals & amps as possible. But the guitar alone would be fun.
The AFD LP wasn't Chinese at all, it was actually built by LA luthier Kris Derrig. And Slash's original amp was a modded pre master vol metal face Marshall 1959T from S.I.R. in LA. In fact it was the same amp George Dokken rented to record under lock and key.
I want them to do this solely to see if replicating the How Soon Is Now tremolo/backwards delay sound is possible with just pedals. Make it happen, Bea!
It's such a joy listening to you guys play, especially the last two vids I had watched (John Frusciante and Slash). I'd be so pissed if you guys busted the bank then couldn't play shit. This vid series has been all a fanboy and sound purist like me has been hunting for on youtube and the internet for years. Thanks so much guys and keep up the fantastic work!
I agree; Shields uses more pedals than anyone I have ever seen. But with his use of reverse reverb, equalizers and the tremolo arm, it would be something to see them try. I like the episodes where there is more of a challenge.
I think some less-mainstream rigs would be cool too. MBV of course, but someone like Geordie Walker of Killing Joke would be a _very_ interesting challenge, and KJ is a very influential band. Someone like Buzz Osborne from the Melvins would be fun too, and Bea's hair matches Buzz's! Also, for some reason I just really want to see Bea play weird Melvins shit ;) .
Without busting would be much more interesting. I wanna know how to get those sounds with accessible gear. By busting if they have Red Specials stock it would be easy.
I'd love to have seen the delay settings, been working on that intro for days and CANNOT nail it down! I'm sure a 2 minute detail video on the settings would surely get lots of views. hint hint ;)
I think it’s awesome that when Appetite was recorded, Marshall amps were already known for having been used to create a BUNCH of legendary, DISTINCTIVE, tones on thousands of recordings. The kinds of tones that when someone dials the tone in and plays, you INSTANTLY think of a certain song/solo/riff. And even after so many years making amps and the countless recordings and resulting tones that had been created up until that point, Slash was able to create what currently are arguably the MOST sought after and chased Marshall tones of all time!! Countless guitarists would LOVE to be known for having a specific tone that people INSTANTLY recognize as being distinctly their own, and if anyone attempts to use a tone that sounds somewhat similar, they will be called out for attempting to copy them ...
for without busting the bank some kind of strat might work with a standard Crybaby pedal, and BY busting the bank, i'm not gonna say what guitar to use cos you already know
Oh guys Oh guys , i am a huge huge Slash Fan and I know very many things about his gear and his playing an his Sound . i watched many many Videos about that and guys , this Isnt just the Best Video anybody can find on RUclips , this is the Best Video you've ever done . Respect . and grreeeeetings from Germany .
Strat with humbuckers(DiMarzio Super Distortion for classic Maiden, Seymour Duncan Hotrails for modern Maiden), Marshall JMP for most of their catalog, except in the early days it was Marshall Plexi's with MXR Distortion+ stompbox & a Crybaby wah. You could throw in an MXR Phase 45 or 90 as well. For a few albums they used Gallien-Kreuger solid state amps... Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son, if I remember correctly. Basically, you could do it all with a Marshall DSL40 combo, the Crybaby wah, a BOSS DD7 delay and an MXR Phase 45/90. Or just get a BOSS GT100. ;0)
Mustaine's words:"Any Dean V and a distortion pedal" Kiko is using Marshalls and Ibanez for quite some time, their tone is not so hard to figure out man, really.
Great series guys! I love the Sounds Like by Busting series. You guys have mad skills....you inspired me to buy my first guitar, it's changed my world!
A big part of the AFD sound is Izzy's Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ (same legendary amp as Hetfield/Master of Puppets.) But Marshall capitalized on the marketing :/
Steve L is right tho, the law of diminishing returns. The difference in sound between a $3,000 guitar and a $5,000 guitar is going to be very negligible but the difference between a $1,200 guitar and the $3,000 will be noticeable. Even more so the lower price gets. I'm sure this gibson sounds much better without the mic tho.
I fell in love with Slash as a guitar player like 12 years ago. The past few years I've been doing mostly session work in more folk/pop/blues genre's and although I haven't really listened to GNR in the a while, this video gave me a nostalgic feeling and might have reignited something for me. Gonna grab my Les Paul, a glass of Tequila, throw on AFD, and take myself back to grade 7 for a few hours lmao
Sorry guys, but you're playing welcome to the jungle wrong. The guy that did Izzy got a better tone this time, a cleaner crunchier tone, but you need to get it more cleaner (which is what izzy was using, listen to the welcome to the jungle izzy track) but his playing his parts wrong. The "welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games" part is played more fluid with left hand muting on izzys guitar. Slash used a modded Marshall SPL 1957, called stock #39 (or 37, or 34, cant remember) with a fake gibson replica, a seymour duncan stage gain, and for the cleans he used a jcm 800. Izzy used a Carvin amp, a jcm 800, and maybe a messa boogie (he appears with one on the afd album, but that doesnt mean he used it on the record). Im on a guns n roses tribute band and i did a lot of research on what izzy and slash used on the record. What they used on live shows was way different. Anyway great video! Please do more with busting the bank!
+TurtleOrigenHD hey man, it's Rabea. We don't learn the riffs note for note. We work them out by ear. We're not die hard GnR fans either so forgive us if we got it a little wrong. Basically, if it represents the song in any capacity, we're happy.
Actually Slash used a modded JCM800 for the whole album, not just cleans, the crunch and O.D. he says it himself. Get your facts straight before making criticisms!
No need an episode for that : Gibson SG standard historic + a big stack Marshall amp (or four like angus because you have no budget !). All the rest is tone and playing. No effect for Angus. I'm a big fan of AC/DC by the way ;)
soufly27 if we follow your theory... there is no reason to make "sound like BY busting the bank", because we can just watch the artist rig tour on other youtube channel.
MagisterRiccardo96 : I have nothing wrong with the fact to do an episode on AC/DC but I really don't see the point on a by busting the bank, with a budget you have to choose the good amp (very difficult I think). With no pedal effect I find this pointless expect if there do an episode on AC/DC but with a very good explanation of how they used the amp.
MagisterRiccardo96 but i understand the point of the show that is "dreaming". But with by busting the bank, I prefer an artist like Prince with as a sound very difficult to find even if you have no budget. But you re right this my point of vue.
Well actually it is not that easy :D he uses more than four stacks. much more :D or definitely he does live, probably not when recording. Moreover, he does not use a standart historic sg with the original pickups, he has different ones
Watching GNR on just 2 guitars makes you realize how much Duff's bass playing adds to every song
Just to be clear, the BMW is most certainly not my car! I was making a joke.
In all seriousness, we had such a good time filming this video, I hope you guys can see that there is a difference between spending £1500, and £8000! Although I'm not sure which one sounds better! What do you guys think?

btw- I think Sound Like is one of the best online musician focused series on RUclips right now.
You completely nailed the solo in Sweet Child... great job Rabea. As you all said, the expensive rig just hits it right on the head, listening over the mains here in a studio it sounds great.
Rabea Massaad These videos are great. You guys are an inspiration to me. Keep it up!
The Les Paul copy Slash used for AFD was not a Chinese copy. The guitar was a Les Paul copy but it was made by luthier Kris Derrig. Just incase anyone wanted to know.
It's funny when Slash says "Only a Gibson will do", when the legendary one was a copy.
Glad to see someone knows the real story of slash's Kris derrig per paul
Kris Derrig being an ex Gibson luthier
@Nonya Bizness I'm thinking Slash did all the bed tracks with the other guitars, and all the leads and overdubs were done with the Kris Derrig LP copy.
Nonya Bizness It was over 30 years ago.
That was the best sounding cover of Sweet Child intro I've ever heard!! Rabea very nice!!!!
Nice 335
Cheeky Bastard ;)
Z
08:04 - Welcome to the Jungle (epic)
13:11 - Paradise City
17:27 - Sweet Child O' Mine (riff)
21:05 - Sweet Child O' Mine (solo)
Sorry guys you are playing it all wrong and also the gear is wrong and it's all wrong... and I know better, because I am better, and I would do this better...
Honestly some people need to do something else other than comment on videos ha ha.
Great video guys :-)
Rob Chapman u and rabea r my my favorite RUclips guitarist
gold XD
Rob i honestly believe Rabea no pissing in the pocket , is one of the most versatile and talented guitarist yet to crack it big. i thought it was wonderful you did a bea signature guitar , who at his age and stage in career can boast (not that he would) having a sig guitar ! it would be great to see him take up a lead guitar in a backing band gig with a big name , to get his profile out there. i also really enjoy you and the captain and Dorje. Rob Chapman *Applauds*
EXACTLY. Some people just don't understand that this video was purely made for fun, not to be 100% prefect on the equipment.
Fun goals reached!
This was great. Nothing like insanely expensive gear and some good riffs to play on it!
that was spot on, man!! great job!
Why don't you and Matt, money no object get your dream setup?
Nice car! That paint job!!!
here's a fun one .. please try to do the sound of that wicked amp on Kemper. that would be really impressive.
Do Radiohead!!!
one of the finest series' on youtube
Imagine a sound like Jason Becker
yeah, as you see on my profile picture, he is on of my favourite human beings
Shame what happened to him, tho
after all these years i still can't find words for it ;(
I "reckon" it is
That sweet child o mine tone is the closest I ever heard someone get to the original afd recording! Damn
🙂
Slash didn't play a Chinese knock off Les Paul! It was actually an 8 string George Formby signature ukulele , drop tuned and fitted with pickups salvaged from the Hendrix strat that was burned in the Isle of Wight festival. True story.
Ash B I’ve Heard This Somewhere!
What the hell
Why did I read that with a barney stinson voice? 😅
But.... it was later discovered that slash had a lespaul he believed to be real.... he recorded with it. It turned out to be a copy.....
😂
that was absolutely epic playing from rabea massaad, the sweet child o'mine solo is indeed a hard one and he nailed it :)
lol
Kristian Dawe lol
Kristian Dawe sweet child o mine is easy, I can play the full thing along to the song and I've been playing for like 3 months.
i never heard anyone nail the solo yet, bea comes really close
Kristian Dawe I'm pretty close to nailing bit idek why.
Awesome, thanks! :-)
Randall Yeager I think Izzy used a MESA/Boogie half stack on AFD, but don't quote me on that.
Is it just me or does anyone else come here just to listen to Matt and Rabea play/ They are truly gifted.
Nicholas Maddever they play most of the stuff wrong
Iguana Rhoads lol that’s bullshit or every cover Channel would be shut down
DarkLinkDuck they wouldn’t be shut down, they just wouldn’t have copyright ownership.
Izzy and Slash had some of the best chemistry of any duel guitarists I’ve ever heard. They sounded perfect together.
You soon realise how fundamental the bass is in a band like GNR, great vid guys
how
Satchel McQueen Video he’s trying to point out how empty the band sounds with out a bassist (duff).
Ha good one!
Chill out people. The biggest tone of all time, sales wise, and the bass is important. I really like the interplay of the three and I’m not a fan at all.
Yeapp
Slashes guitar is 5300 pounds? OMFG. HES STRONG AS FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
i knew gibsons were heavy but daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmm
must be why the guy in the store had to sit down to play
soft drink give up.
iwanttosmell give what up? I posted those within seconds of each other, and whadyaknow, thumbs ups on all of em
trying so hard to be funny XD
This video kicks ass. Great job guys. The "Sweet Child Of Mine" solo was incredible.
Can you guys do Metallica by busting the bank please
This. Yes.
Simmo Simmonds yassss
I have a sneaking suspicion that Rabea would get one of every wah in stock for Kirk’s bank buster
Metallica is not music. It's rubbish
shut up
That sweet child tone was spot on! That sounds amazing well done guys.
For me, the best "busting the bank" video yet, and I have watched them all. Matt and Rabea go so well together and the combined knowledge is awesome. Rabea is able to play so many styles, spot on and seemingly effortlessly. Wonderful.
Can you do how to sound like the bank by busting Guns 'N' Roses
Play Money by Pink Floyd with G 'n' R gear
I just lost brain cells reading this comment
The best sounds like this far. Had chills running up my spine multiple times during this video.
Sounded great guys. As far I remember Slash didn't play any Chibson guitars, they're actually beatifully hand made by Derrig of California. Correct me anyone, if I'm wrong.
you're right

It was a _very_ good one though, but there were a few small details that it lacked that a real Ric would've had.
Apologies, my bad!
Hi Matt, No, I'm sorry. No need for apologies, I'm just being an old know-all rocker from the 70's. You two do a marvelous job. Spud
I think it was just the AFD Les Paul that was built by Derrig. All others that he played were Gibsons. But I may be wrong too.
It's just perfect. I challenge anyone to do any better than that, who aren't named Slash and/or Izzy. It's now three years later, and I just keep coming back to this one.
Slash's guitar was not a Chinese copy of Gibson !!! It was made by a luthier in America. It's still a copy but not a Chinese one
I scared the hell out of my wife when I started singing Welcome to the Jungle at the top of my lungs when you guys were ripping that riff out! Great job guys! Bob in Germany
Randy Rhoads by busting the bank now? With the cream coloured Les Paul Custom?
you cant get a new cream colored one, you have to buy a white les paul custom and play it for 20 years in the sun and in smokey bars to get the cream color.
what about a V?
jeremy wolfe yes please
They just released a limited ed VOS LP Custom you can get in cream. Thing is gorgeous.
I came here after watching sound GnR for under £500, oh yeah there's a difference.
Yeah... a couple of grands. On a serious note: Yes, there's quite some tonal difference. I think this Slash sound is closer to what I usually hear of Slash than the 500-Slash-sound, and I like it a lot. This Izzy sound, however... PWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNED
Open mouth, insert foot...
The funny thing is even if you had meant 1500 , who cares?
ANDERTONS SHOULD DO AN ARTIST INSPIRED GIBSON ES 175 IZZY STRADLIN
Hell and yesssssss
Yes and the hell
Andertons, have you done this yet?
I can see the pure joy in your face soloing with that beauty of a guitar Bea, really enjoyed the video! :)
china knock off? i thought Slash used a custom LP 59 copy made by kriss derig for AFD album...
He did. These guys got it wrong.
Yeah, it wasn't a Chinese knock off. It was some guy who made custom guitars in Canada. Still wasn't a Gibson, but def. wasn't MIC 80s crap.
this guy..(just him, not the fat afro hair shredder) almost change history by saying AFD album was made with a Chibson..
Slash's "AFD" Les Paul was hand made by luthier Kris Derrig in L.A., not Canada. Kris Derrig died in 1987.
They get it wrong alot. Watch the Sound like Tool video. I love Rabea and Anderton's but they really don't do they're homework on the artist's actual gear,
I don't know if heard right but the original guitar was not a Chinese knockoff but a high quality handmade copy made by Kris derrig.
wildcatter63 the original didn’t disappear. Slash rented it to record appetite and never returned it. Then his tech took it in to the same store slash rented it from to have it worked on and they ran the serial number and saw it was “stolen” and they repoed it.
Luthier
Slash's AFD guitar wasnt a chinese knock-off. It was made by a guy in California.
Exactly, he pointed te guys name even, in the Max interview, when he played an acoustic set with Myles Kennedy... It was done because Gibson was not making the reissues yet, and that guitar was an exact 59 replica...
It was by the late Kris Derrig of Redondo Beach
Indeed. It was built by Kris Derrig. Unfortunately he died soon after (in May 1987).
3 days before i was born
Who replicated a chinese replica so they are kind of right :)
ive always wanted to go to this shop but now im definitely gonna go
Sidenote: Locomotive is so good....and the estranged solos are spectacular....very melodic and piano-like....slash is wonderful..
Great vid as always guys
Top job guys. Awesome. Any chance of a Synyster Gates/Zack Vengence sounds like?
That would be cool but It would be really easy, they both use easy to find signature guitars and theres a video online about their tech going over amps and pedals.
Matt James I know they have a Schecter Syn Gates but I don't know if they'd do an SG since it looks similar to Zack's
Well I guess it depends if it's on a budget then that'd be interesting, when I first wrote that comment I assumed by busting the bank
like shit. theyre irrelevant
I already see the h8 comments coming
Such a spot on studio version sounding of Sweet Child O' Mine and Welcome To The Jungle I have ever heard !!!
Paradise city as well
You guys should do a Sound Like The Ramones. Both Dee Dee and Johnny.
And Van Halen.
My boys and I have just started to learn guitar and we love these videos. Thanks for putting out so much information and showing us how it should be done.
According to Rebea, Slash bought a Chibson through Aliexpress back in 1987. I always knew Slash was ahead of his time.
As if you guys haven't done Van Halen, Def Leppard or Iron Maiden by now ?? 😱
guitarist6494 maiden was done on a budget.
GunsnRosesfan2012 👍🏼
GalaxyOwlGuitar515 1 Haha thankyou :)
XxHoodini1995xX Woah Keith man, I didn't expect to find you in the comments!! 😆🎸😆🎸😆
motley crue
definitely wasn't a knock off. it was a hand build by chris derrig.
it was a fake

If you close your eyes at 17:27 you can see Slash standing there on the stage and playing this everlasting legendary intro.
The riff Rabea is playing while showing the MXR is damn good! I like the nasty sound it adds. I'd buy it. Great video, guys! \m/
Sound like Van Halen or Muse BY busting the bank. OR Johnny Greenwood without busting the bank
They already did Matt Bellamy from Muse :)

In fact it was the same amp George Dokken rented to record under lock and key.
Sound like Johnny Marr! Gonna keep on asking until it happens!
they really should...
johnny marr riffs maybe a little too technical for bea's chubby hands lol
I want them to do this solely to see if replicating the How Soon Is Now tremolo/backwards delay sound is possible with just pedals. Make it happen, Bea!
Make it happen!!
Agreed! Johnny has fantastic tone- even the people that don't recognize the name will love the video
Sounds awesome fellas! Those riffs are just some of the best rock riffs ever and you guys really captured them. Well done
You can't do Guns n roses twice before you do Alice in Chains! Jerry Cantrell was such an underrated guitarist/songwriter!
100% agree. how they haven't done AIC is insane.
jakeybball he's still going and making great music!
My Bloody Valentine might be the biggest challenge you guys have had, as Kevin Shields' guitar style is truly unique. Still, love to see you try.
if they managed to get close on a small budget that would be amazing
I agree; Shields uses more pedals than anyone I have ever seen. But with his use of reverse reverb, equalizers and the tremolo arm, it would be something to see them try. I like the episodes where there is more of a challenge.
The sheer number of pedals alone would bankrupt them. xD
Couldn't agree more with you. And Bea does look like Buzz, at very least the hair is spot on.
Sound like Brian May BY busting the bank.
YES
get this to the top
Without busting would be much more interesting. I wanna know how to get those sounds with accessible gear. By busting if they have Red Specials stock it would be easy.
I disagree with your statement, but it's ok.
Each to their own.👍
They would use a red special if they were busting the bank or not, they are only 500 pounds!
You guys knocked it out of the park with this one! Great stuff!
I'm a fan of the Sounds Like series. This... best one ever. Nice work guys.
Sounds like Queen (Brian May) by busting the bank!!
I'd love to have seen the delay settings, been working on that intro for days and CANNOT nail it down! I'm sure a 2 minute detail video on the settings would surely get lots of views. hint hint ;)
sound like the chilli peppers , catfish and the bottlemen , kasabian , viola beach , stereophonics , kings of leon
chilli peppers and kings of leon have been done
You mean the chillis have been butchered and kings of leon has been done
oh shit yea
Why would anyone want to sound like Kasabian?
Why would anyone want to sound like catfish and the bottlemen
Definitely my favorite series on youtube
They should do a series where they get a rubbish amp and use pedals and top equipment to sound like
A squished grape woah why the hostility
i want a sound like nuno bettencourt just to watch bea fanboy out
YES!!!
Yeah, a Sounds like Nuno from the Porngraffitti Era would be a great one...
for without busting the bank some kind of strat might work with a standard Crybaby pedal, and BY busting the bank, i'm not gonna say what guitar to use cos you already know
That one is pretty unavoidable ;-)
and wes bromland
With that haircut do the MELVINS! :)
I really want to see "Sound like Avenged Sevenfold" without busting the bank
Dead on. Do Billy Gibbons next!
Yes!
Bust the bank with John Frusciante's gear!!
I wouldn't mind letting John Frusciante bust MY bank with his gear
I don't know if slash or Izzy saw this video , but if they did , they must be really proud of you guys.
currently drooling on my mobile, that tone ...oh dear, dear. $$$ great video guys!
Sound like Iron Maiden, please!
I've got a similar guitar to Dave Murray's, just wanna know what pedals/amp to use!
Martin Vivekananda they already did that a while back
Strat with humbuckers(DiMarzio Super Distortion for classic Maiden, Seymour Duncan Hotrails for modern Maiden), Marshall JMP for most of their catalog, except in the early days it was Marshall Plexi's with MXR Distortion+ stompbox & a Crybaby wah.
Or just get a BOSS GT100. ;0)
Sound like Megadeth? Sound like Steel Panther? Sound like anyone (Most versatile rig)? Anyone?... No, just me? Maybe my dad...
megadeth ... yes
Most versatile rig would be pretty interesting.
Steel Panther would be cool.
Casual Sips reference
Mustaine's words:"Any Dean V and a distortion pedal"
Kiko is using Marshalls and Ibanez for quite some time, their tone is not so hard to figure out man, really.
tell me how many people see this for the sound...
90 % of people here just whant to se bea playing their favourite bands
Nailed it guys!!
How about a sound like Lynyrd Skynyrd??
Sound like Slash and Izzy by busting a second mortgage! Nice job guys. My eyes and mouth are watering.
Bea does the best intro to SCoM I've ever heard.
intrsoul well from the websites I read Izzy used fender bassman heads running into Mesa cabs.
John Frusicante by bustign the bank... MAKE IT HAPPEN
rxch well, it happened
it sounded amazing! Better? yes, of course. 5 times better (when compared to price)? no. great job fellas.
And you judged that just by watching this video?
rexhayabusa sure did. It's easy to hear. And it goes back to Anderton's video talking about the law of diminishing returns.
Thing is that youtube audio is so compressed you can hardly tell a difference, when in reality that gibson probably sounded godlike.
Onabe Just sayin listening to it through Yt doesn´t do it justice.
I'm playing all duff's basslines in my head while watching this.
That was spot on guys. Just wish we could've had an ES-175 for Izzy, but it still sounds really killer. Tones are on point.
Loved this sounds like. Especially the Sweet Child ‘O Mine parts.
Please do Iced Earth please.
Please do sound like Eddie Van Halen, one of the greatest
Sound like Lynyrd Skynyrd by/without busting the bank!
- Coleton and Logan
Toxicity absolutely right!
This sounds like is SPOT ON
I’ve got a 54 Les Paul gold top that was my dads, he bought it in the mid 60’s. It has p90’s. For an old guitar it’s got an amazing sound.
Gary Moore by busting the bank!!!
Do Tool BY busting the bank pls
It would be amazing. Adam tone is amazing.
If you can't do "Sound like Van Halen without busting the Bank" how about a "Sound like Van Halen by Busting the Bank"?
That tone you got with the Epiphones was spot on.
Basically, if it represents the song in any capacity, we're happy.
lmao
Actually Slash used a modded JCM800 for the whole album, not just cleans, the crunch and O.D. he says it himself. Get your facts straight before making criticisms!
you just got bea'd
Nah, don't hate you can tell he's a G just by his subscriptions. I mean, I bet those Simple Pickup tips work a treat
Slash's Appetite les paul was not a chinese knock off! It was a handmade replica of a Gibson made by someone in L.A.
I laughed when he said that
made in China or L.A. it was still a knock off Gibson. the point was it was not an authentic. right?
It wasn't authentic but to simply say it was a chinese knockoff is kind of a stretch, its been documented that the copy was a high quality 59 replica.
It was made by Kris Derrig
sound like AC/DC BY busting the bank
21:55 I’ve got the goosebumps! Great job!
The guitar was a kris derigg copy of a 59 burst. But other than, absolutely fantastic. You guys NAILED it!!
I just watched a rig rundown video and this is literally slashs rig lol
20:00 oh my God 😍
@Bea If only there was some sort of magical device you could use to profile that epic #2 Slash amp and make it yours forever
*ours :)
this is the best video ive ever watched
Y’all got the tone down perfect 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
pretty sure the actual appetite les paul was built by a local builder. not Chinese.
