+Soydementiras Great idea mate !
yes
+max mustermann +1 to this
YES
PLEASE
"Hey, I need a new coffee machine, what would you suggest?" "Marshall DSL-40c mate"
lmao
😂😂😂
Joe Wallace My DSL 40 CST performed kidney dialysis last week. Amazing.
Dude, its a really good amp!
Cr*
Great to see the positive feedback! thanks guys. We really appreciate it.
+Rabea Massaad It was great :)
+Rabea Massaad You and Matt need to both get guitars from now on... I found my self headbanging so much with you that my headphones fell off!
+Rabea Massaad That set up, done at a gig would have blown an audience away with authenticity; I've watched tribute bands that don't get that close.
+Rabea Massaad Really enjoyed that, but i would have the wah in their instead of a talkbox.
It's really nice to see your comfort infront of the camera, I noticed it in your Toska videos but it's a genuine pleasure to watch you work.
Am I the only one who thinks THEY FUCKING NAILED THE TONE?!?! FML
Fernando Samaniego it just proves mid range guitars and amps improved
no you're not, this video was perfect, probably the 2nd best without busting video they've ever done
Trying to sound like Slash and there's no wah?
On a solo part of Sweet child of mine, there is a wah
@@tieukhavu8832 he also used it on Mr Brownstone for the solo
Blaž Pogačnik maybe it was nit in the budget
dunlop wah is more important than talkbox
the LP sounds so thin next to the sheraton. anyway i still wanna see SOUND LIKE WEEZER. PINKERTON specifically.
yes!
+Pints of Guinness The Sheraton is blowin its door off !!
WEEZER. YES
=W=
+Pints of Guinness I SECOND THE MOTION!!!!!! (。_。)ノ
The Paradise City sound was HUGE.
Goosebumps
that is the shit
jMOPS1993 But he plays the intro wrong :/
and that's from a $55 chorus pedal.
Got to love Tone City.
It was absolutely spot on! Never heard the solo tone so close to the original one ever!
I would go to the U.K. just to go to anderton's
@Louis Sanderson buy me a guitar there lol
Great episode!
I'd love a bass-version of this!
Sound like Geezer Butler, Flea, John Paul Jones, etc. Would be awesome!
Also, Sound like Tony Iommi please!
+Sabush Sabushi I've been commenting the same request!
Why hasn’t this been done yet
I'd say that was close enough for anyone to be happy with.
also, I might just grab one of those chorus boxes, they sound great for the price.
+CSGuitars no one yet?
Colin! I love your videos!
COLIN! wasn't expecting to see you here
It was pretty good i think! Now do Black Sabbath? I mean early Ozzy Sabbath
Would kill for a tony iommi and randy rhoads episode guys!
YES!
They've done a Randy Rhods with Glenn Fricker ;)
There's a Black Sabbath (Iommi) episode!
Zach Sandstrom who did you kill?
IgglyStuff yes
I'd like to see Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains
yes please the dirt tone would be amazing songs like them bones and stuff
sounds like Van Halen next?
+cornelius larsen Seconded
Sound like EVH please!!!!!
I haven't watched the video yet but I'm gonna guess that they used the DSL4O again.
+Cesar Issac Mercado I WAS JUST ABOUT TO POST THE SAME EXACT THING
+Ethan Bean Surprised they only used one haha.
+Cesar Issac Mercado You couldn't be more on it, mate.
What are the amp settings at on the dsl40?
Is there a "sound like Mark Knopfler"?
I would love to see that one :-)
+Freddie Ellis They have done that already. Have a look in the playlist for the video. Thanks for watching.
Awesome, cheers!
+Andertons Music Co can you please do a sounds like on Daron Malakian from SOAD or Cameron Followill/Caleb Followill from Kings of Leon pleaseeeeeee
They've done both!!!
Freddie Ellis swhat really creepy is when i was looking through more sound like videos as soon as i read your comment he appeared 😳😃 lmao
haha, the jungle sound is spot on! great job guys
Maybe in your cheap apple earbuds....
@@mcasuse That's a bit rich coming from you, considering you have 0 videos
@@widowmaker5544 you have to remember British people are some how more argumentative than normal people
@@DeadmanRides true
@@DeadmanRides Shut up no we're not come say that to my face big boy
Sounds like Misha Mansoor!
Yes!!!
Get an Axe Fx
+Eddie's Guitars I'll say it a million times to a million people, it's the technique of playing that gets you that sound. Gear only helps to a certain extent
+SteveOTheMan16 Good luck getting that sound on a DSL40 with no pedals and a Epiphone then! :)
+SteveOTheMan16 It's just for fun to see how the guys could come up with a Periphery type tone without using a Axe FX, Kemper, or Pod.
An actual amp paired with pedals is what I'm trying to say.
Sound like The Smashing Pumpkins without busting the bank
Do some Alice in chains with the talk box!
I think that the talk box was the step too far. Really a wah pedal would have been better as Slash uses that on a lot more tracks.
see the BY busting the bank version, they ditched the MXR Talkbox and got a Slash SW95 wah
John Smith they were going to use his current signature wah but they didn't have it in stock
Do a Sounds like "Brian May"!
Moses Ramirez that would be hard cuz he made his own guitar when he was younger
Considering Brian May sells his own signature guitars starting at about £650, and it's well known he uses a Vox AC-30 with a treble booster, there's not much point in them doing a video when people already know how.
Lucky for you, there is one
Sound like zakk wylde pls
Sound like Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and Stone Gossard.
sound like radiohead. if you like a challenge ;)
Before Slash had his signature pickup he used Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-1 pickups. His signature models are a slightly hotter bigger sounding version of this. Every guitar he records or performs with was fitted with these before his signature set came out.
7:23 I like how Jimmy is digging it.
Jimi*
+spindelspott Haha
I though that as I watched it. XD
all the yes!!!!!!!! metallica plz?
and that welcome to the intro was perfect in the sound
Sound like Dave Mustaine plz
Sound like Johnny Marr!
hell yeah!
Sound like Blink 182, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Weezer
do it!
They already did all of them..
Please do def leppard I love the Bands tone in the hysteria era and I think Steve Clarks may be a difficult one to get.
Yes that would be a good idea. please do Def Leppard
Yes please
The album mostly wasn't recorded from live amps. Blackstar have recently done a Hysteria mini amp it would be interesting to know if it's close. Live they used Marshalls and Randall amps.
The only amp that will give you that tone is the rockman amp
Sounded amazing! now try sounding like George Lynch (Dokken)!
Sound like Buckethead! Mesa Triple Rectifier, Stiletto Deuce, Bogner Uberschall, ENGL Powerball - there's some stuff the DSL40 will not sound like. :D
GNR tones were 100% accurate, amazing job!
+Banan yesssss, anything mesa related. because the dsl won't work
I really want to see Black Keys, because it would be fun to see how they handle the vintage gear vs. new gear.
+Otso Pänttönen it's a shame they always do the guitar tones from the albums, cause dan's live tone makes my face melt
they did it but i think they should re do it because the effect they used for lonely boy was way of by my standards, they used an EHX Pitchfork as there wasn't any Digitech Whammies left in stock even though i recall there was 4 Whammy DT's at the warehouse during that time it was uploaded and from seeing research Dan used a Boss PS5 but i don't think they make them anymore so the PS6 would've been better
Slash did not have a real true Gibson les Paul on the first album. It was a les Paul replica. He used the Seymour Duncan alnico 2 pro before that first album.
John Heinecke he still does too, if he gets a guitars that’s not collectible he switches them out before he even plugs it in lol
But on the appetite's and Illusion's tour he played stock Les Paul's Standard. And even some factory second.
Sound like buckethead?
yess
buy a guitar with a kill switch amp dosent really matter and then buy every pedal ever to exist. congratulations you are now buckethead now you just need to give your soul to play like him
+icantthinkofaname y it's gonna be very expensive xD
+Katyusha Voroshilov haha yea and all the guitar lessons you'll need to play his songs
+icantthinkofaname y haha yea..xD
Slash always used Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro pickups and where was the wah??
How about sound like Rabea Masaad for under £1500?
Do the Eddie Van Halen "Brown Sound".
2:40 the les paul he recorded appetite with was a chris derrig les paul copy and had seymour duncans in it.
+Filippo Bianco but I have to say, you nailed the Sweet Child tone
Sound Like tony iommi
+fahad abdulkareem Yeaahh
Sound like joe bonamassa
Slash had the semour's alnico 2 pickups in his original afd les paul tho. It wasn't a standard gibson les paul. It was a luthier made les paul replica with the duncan pickups. Anyways great video guys! Guns N' Roses all the way!
sound like lynyrd skynyrd
Please could you do a sounds like to any of the follwoing please that be awesome.
1# Gary Moore, a fantastic underrated guitarist who sadly bit the dust too soon.
Over The Hills And Far Away
Still Got the Blues
Parisian Walkways
Out In The Fields
#2 Joe Bonamassa
Sloe Gin
Ballad Of Jon Henry
Blue and Evil
#3 Alice In Chains
Man In The Box
Them Bones
Check My Brain
#4 ZZ Top

Gimmie All Your Lovin
La Grange
#5 Van Halen

So much yes.
+Junior Pentz I vote ZZ Top and VH!
+TheSwedishUploader. I got zz top and Alice in Chains
"I'm playing an Epiphone Les Paul with a built in stand" LMAOOOOOO I died! XD
R.I.P
you guys should do Black Sabbath next! Give you an opportunity to try some orange amps.
Iommi used laneys basically all the time
Sounds like Dinosaur Jr!
Damn that would be cool!
Sound like lil wayne? The tone on 'Leather so soft' is absolutely insane!
+Kyle Marcus Imlah I see what you did there :D
Sounds like Randy Rhoads
Sound Like Muse pls :D
YES PLEASE (no pun intended)
do a sound like buckethead video!!
Sounds like Megadeth!
yes yes yes
“How to sound like guns n roses without busting the bank” but he wears a fender shirt
Just kidding good vid and you guys are awesome
Get a bassist and do a how to sound like rhcp
SOUNDS LIKE ANDY SUMMERS!!!!
Sound like Chevelle!
Best one so far for me, Randy Rhoads would be great now!
Yeah... that's what it sounds like. Well done!
Sound like Avenged Sevenfold pleeaassee?
YES
+Leejk They fucking SUCK, you need to grow up and start listening to some real music.
Leo B Ok man. Thanks for the advice but I'm fine with my tastes. Out of interest, what bands you recommend me? A7x are my favourite band by I have a very broad taste in music so we may very well like the same bands and I'm always open to hearing new music.
+Leejk Smashing Pumpkins 90s stuff
Leo B I've heard of them but I don't know much about them. Could you recommend any songs?
Cmon brah everyone knows slash used a BOSS DD-3 for WWTJ
....Not dissing, love these guys and their videos
Since Bea is always wearing that fender Hendrix shirt, why not do one for Jimi?
Think it's because Rob and Lee did one on him
+Axel Ytreberg we'll figure, Rob and Lee also did a "How to slash for under 1000" way back when
Bloody hell! Sweet child of mine sounded insane! So, close to the real thing!
+Stuart Carden cheers man! so glad this one came out well!!
+Stuart Carden Neck pickups baby!
That intro really was spot on.
unnghh!! the paradise city tone was fuckin hot
Could you make a sound like Metallica video ?
Oh, and the opening riff - man. Nailed it. Well done.
Sound Like Kurt Cobain!
Fun fact Kurt usually ran through the PA system live
Yeah i know which is why it would be hella sweet
+Garrett Seghers Fortunately his specs are well documented but i want to see what they can do with it.
+kurt miller Ya it would be interesting
2:48 Nope. Since his Appetite Les Paul was a copy, he got himself some Seymour Alnico 2 Pros. So he never used stock Gibson pups.
They really could have just gotten a $100 Epiphone Les Paul Special and it would've sounded fine. They have Alnico 2s without the metal cover and they actually play decent with a little fine tuning.
Nope they are ceramic
What are?
+Anon E. Moose the magnets in the pickups in that guitar
Not in an Original Epiphone Special model. It was my first guitar and I still own it. You're thinking of the Les Paul Special 2. The original was alnico 2
Doa video on Avenged Sevenhold sound-alike
He says before slash had signature pickups he would've used stock gibson guitars and pickups ... But when slash recorded AFD he used the kris derrig gibson replica and what this guy doesn't know is the derrig came with Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 pro zebras in it already, which then became his signature pickup... So no, he wouldn't have used stock gibson guitars and pickups back then, maybe after the record blew up and Gibson got on board but this video is about achieving the sound on the record, which they weren't around for
So it wasn't a gibson itself? How much does a replica like that usually run?
replaca's are $3000 or so, they've done a few limited run versions and one version is being made now, as a Gibson and an Epi
+JMunn55 are you talking about the Rosso Corsa les Paul? Or more Afd replicas?
The AFD replicas were made I believe in 2010, they made a limited run at the time. 100 or so were aged and also signed by Slash.
The Rosso Corsa was 2013-2014 and there was also the Vermillion. Same guitar, just colour difference
PLEASE do a sound like blink 182!
That's really easy. Run anything with a Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge through a Mesa Dual Rectifier
Only one change I wouldve made. Instead of that epi lp I wouldve gone with the Gibson 50s tribute lp. Killer guitar for 900 bucks, and the goldtop has a dark back like slashs.
Sound like Def Leppard, Steve Clark and Phil Collen, great British band, could be fun for y'all
About you guys claiming that Slash used the stock pickups of his Les Paul before getting his own signature set.
WRONG, the Kris Derrig made Les Paul Copy he played on "Appetite" was fitted with Seymour Duncan AlNiCo pro humbuckers that Slash liked the sound so much of that when the band started their "Appetite" tour, he bought several Les Pauls and had the stock pickups replaced by Seymour Duncan AlNiCo pro units so he could at least have a similar sound to the Derrig Les Paul which he was reluctant to take out on tour.
Sounds like nirvana pls!!!
+chow ming 100$ strat, 10w cheap combo and that's it. Then get high or very very drunk
+Kuba Jakub yep sounds about right
+Kuba Jakub yep sounds about right
Kuba Jakub well yeah i know that, just want hear some nirvana riffs
really nailed this one
I'm pretty sure slash didn't have a Gibson when starting off. I think it was a knock off.
you are correct
have some ice cream💩
Yeah. He had a Kris Derrig Les Paul. :)
Clint Stathis well before the derrig slash was playing BC Richs namely mockingbirds and warlocks.
***** the derrig is his main in the studio according to slash himself and his tech (at the time?) Ace bergman.
***** oh ok
Sound like Joe Perry!
I know you guys stick to guitar, but you should try to match a Justin Chancellor rig (and Adam Jones too). I'd be really interested to see what all you guys can do for 1500 to match his huge range of tones.
Before Slash's signature pickups (Alnico II PRO Slash), he always used Alnico II PRO pickps in all his LPs. The signature pickups are an exact copy of the ones found on his original AFD, built by luthier Kris Derrig.
Would like to see sounds like Alex Lifeson
I'd love to see a sounds like video for Slash's solo work, apocalyptic love album definitely. His tone is unbelievable on that record.
Top work guys. Love these videos. How's about one for Avenged Sevenfold? Would live to see Zacky Vengeance & Synyster Gates' rigs on a budget. 🤘🏻🎸
I like more the pedal's sound from this video than from by busting the bank!! Just myself i guess!
You guys should do sound like Shinedown considering they just launched a new tour with black stone cherry
Sounds amazing! Closest one yet maybe!
Surprisingly close. About as good as it gets. Especially with gear he never really used. Well done.
Sounds like Joe Perry
The talk box is pointless since Slash uses it on like 1 song.. save more money without it. The izzy tone was pretty good.. and thank god no more DSL... So many artists use Marshall but you can get those tones from Mesa... Blackstar.. Fender maybe.. Anything really if u set the presence right.
I'm a huge slash fan, and while I think you guys nailed the tone, the pedal options seemed silly. Slash has 3-5 crybaby pedals across the stage at any show, so there's always one nearby. that's how much he uses one. It's his absolute go-to. he likes it because it's expressive. The AFD was also not a gibson, it was a copy of a les paul with non-gibson pickups that are most similar to his signature a2p's. While not practical for this video, I bought a cheap epi LP, installed the slash pickups, and bought a blackstar ht5. that gets the basic tone, but the slash sig. wah pedal really gets it going. I had a much smaller budget though
Absolutely nailed this one. What this really brought home to me though was that if you have half decent gear, a good quality amp especially, you can sound like whatever you want with the use of fx and pedals. I'd love to see a video from you guys where you use a tele and make it sound like a Les Paul etc. Just to make people realize you don't need this boutique humbucker or that vintage tweed etc.
cgavin1 Q
Sound like Green Day or Foo Fighters!!
+DzoniMyths The Foo Fighters one is already done! Check it out, it's great!
+Gonzalo Olivera Alves i found it,Thanks!!!
Damn that paradise city rendition sounds sick!
Loving this video but am I really the only one who feels anxiety or stress because the play the heavy paradise city riff wrong, without "turning it aournd" every 2nd round? :D
Shit I wouldn't mind seeing tabs for whatever version of Welcome to the Jungle Rabea was playing, sounded a bit different than any other cover I've heard. Sounded so clean yet less robotic than all these other fucks trying to play it on RUclips.
