I recently watched a documentary about a Jewish man and woman who fell in love at a concentration camp and how they found stolen moments to be together and amazingly they both survived and married after the war. This song reminds me of their story.
This was the song I raged in the summer of 08. I learned how to perform this song in 2 weeks, and played it outside her home. Her parents saw me as the kid from the other side of the tracks. I loved her nonetheless.
I remember listening to this song when I was taking a holocaust studies elective class in highschool circa 2006/2007. I couldn’t get enough of it. Such an interesting and devastating theme for a song as upbeat as this. Written in such a clever and funny way too ❤
I looked up "Say Anything react" and it was all reaction to the film and MLP?? xD So glad you guys did this. They're my favorite band of all time, but I've only seen them live 3 times. Max Bemis puts this much power and emotion into ALL of his lyrics and vocals. He was my biggest inspiration to start singing!
I am so grateful that my sister asked to do this song. Max is an incredible songwriter and performer. I've only come to love his stuff more after we recorded this.
I swear I heard him talk about this song and say he wrote it about a girl he had a crush on, and he wanted to basically write that he would like her and pick her even in the worst situation imaginable, but I could be remembering wrong or thinking of a different song altogether lol, just feels good to know other people know about this band though, on repeat for a long time years ago lmao.
I wasn't much of an emo/Pop-Punk/Ska guy but every time I hear a Cardi B or Billie Eilish song I become more open to music past. Also to note the drumming on Shiksa (Girlfriend) is amazing.
I got some love for the bouncy fun rock sound. I think say anything's writing is a lot more clever than their peers and that helps. His sense of humor helps too. Was glad my sister showed me this song and the band.
