I found this by chance on You tube. It was very emotional to see the Pope and how wonderful that the Anglicans and Catholics can worship together. I loved the applause as the Pope walked down the aisle.

The most important ecumenic visit of a Pope in many many years. The Service was wonderful and His Holiness and His Grace showed a truly ecumenic Spirit. I am Catholic but I have had the chance to attend a Holy Sevice in an Anglican Church. I remember I appreciated it very much. Among other things, I remember the beautiful work of Choir and the way all the Congregation took part in all the Hymns and religious songs. It was beautiful, indeed.

The Archbishop of Canterbury is a class act!!!! BTW, I am a Roman Catholic who admires Pope Benedict. That said, the warm welcome here is phenomenal.

If he was actually a class act, he would give back all the stolen churches and property back to the Catholic Church. Just saying.....

@@mosesking2923 fair point , but I am Catholic in England and that argument is obsolete in my opinion as both Anglican and Catholic traditions are struggling to fill the churches we have got and the Catholic Church is desperately short of priests !

‘’ the rich diversity of many churches” the rich confusion of many churches; there is only one church the Holy Catholic Church who has never waivered from his traditional beliefs and has withstood many temptations of this world.

I just happened to find this report here on UTUBE, it was a wonderful event and experience to see that the Roman Catholics and Anglicans are moving closer together again. Hopefully still as intensivly in 2020. This message sent from this evening song should be spread more when there is almost as much controversy in this country about being a member or not of the European Union.
I wish to revert to the initial comments about the importance of the English influence regarding Christianity and democratic usus in the Anglo-Saxon society of the early medievel ages.
I am German and can say, that Europe would be totally different without the influence of the anglo saxon missionaries especially to the German soil. The old Saxon tribes threw the Romans out of their territory ( 9 AC ), and only the south western part remained partially under Roman influence. The Frankish tribes adopted a lot with regard to legislation, organization etc. When they conquered parts of nowaday's France, they adopted language and customs as well as Christian faith.
When their kings defeated the Saracens at Tours ( Karl Martell ), the Frankish made the deal with the Bishop of Rome to protect the church and he gave them the territory of Vatican. At that time, the Pope called Missionaries from England, who already had established church and monastries in England to bring the gospel to their germanic brothers and sisters. Wynfreth of Wessex, later called Boniface, came to establish Christian bastions on Frankish territories. Würzburg, Mainz, München/Freising, Fulda, where he wished tobe burried.
Now the assembly location of the German Bishops' Council. He died as a Martyr near Utrecht ( in todays Netherlands ). This was his last episcopy. He is called " Apostle if the Germans. So the whole Frankish territories thus were prepared to have the Frankish Karl the Great being coronated by the pope as first Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. When the Franks failed to christianize the rival Saxons, again missionaries from York came to the North West of Germany and founded Münster (Minster ). Thus integrating the German tribes into the Empire.
Well, there is so much common history among Germany, France and Great Britain. We have a common inheritance!
Please do not let this go down the drain about wrong information about European
today's policy. To us on the mainland, democracy in the UK seems to be in danger, when parliamentary rights and powers are prorogated and politics not being transparent. God bless your beautiful country and the common sense needed not to throw away the works of our ancestors. 🙏😻

In my haste to reply you the words 'meeting point' can be wrongly interpreted. No one doubts or queries the word of Jesus. That is the foundation all what came after to create a church was human. There was no organised church sfter Jesus's death all that evolved.

Ig there is no authority than everyone will interpret Word of God how ever he wishes, Churchs magisterium is authority, Pope inhereted authority given to Peter by Jesus. Great coverage but the Pope's secretary is Monsignor, or Archbishop Gaenswein. Not "Herr Gaenswein". Apologies to any German people reading this for approximating the "Umlaut", but it did not work as I was typing...One rather misses the sight of the controversial but muscular Archbishop Marcinkus who was known to give the knee to anyone who crossed the acceptable boundary between Pope and people in the years of Paul VI and John Paul II.

HM the Queen is head of the Church of England as has every Monarch since King Henry 8th . The Archbishop of Canterbury is head of the Anglican Communion which is made up of many churches across the globe which includes the Church of England , the Church of Ireland , the Church in Wales .the Scottish Episcopal Church is the equivalent Anglican Church in that country . The Church of Scotland is Presbyterian .
