- Ever since we started our Volvo 850 restoration we have been dealing with a very bad windshield causing our vision to be less then ideal, so we installed a new one! We also got a bunch of new parts including a new intake manifold that was send to us by a subscriber. Thanks mate!
We replaced the bad coolant hose going from the expansion tank to the thermostat, installed brand new wiper arms and reinstalled our old mud flaps as well.

On February 21 ’09 our dad bought this ’96 Volvo 850 2.5L 20V estate. The Volvo has a big emotional value for us and seeing the car sitting still for so many years and watching nature taking over broke our hearts. After nine years, and sitting outside for 7 of those 9 years, we finally got our hands on the 850 and brought it back to its home where we will restore it to its former glory. Once we finish the restoration, we intend to make a road trip and keep in the family for many more years to come.

Love your videos, I sold my 850 last year and immediately had sellers remorse, picked up another one today but on the plus side this one is manual

Hello again. Still no speakers in the dashboard? I got some original, but they are rarely. Most of them are broken. Some use V70s, but the best are probably new ones.
Still searching for those indeed. Did not know the V70 ones might fit. We'll take a look at that. Thanks!
@@MusTRitchYou can use V70 speakers, but you will need to keep the 850 chassis of the speaker (The thing which holds them in place in the dashboard). Its not hard, but you need some soldering.
Ah ok. Well, the chassis we had were destroyed by someone in the past to be able to fit those nasty aftermarket ones we took out. Still looking for those aswell🤪
Well done! Need to do mine again, unfortunately its leaking on the top. Whats the thing at 16:31? Some kind of antenna?
Thanks! It's a DAB+ antenna (FM is on it's way out in the Netherlands. Might be a couple of years away but now we're prepared 🤪).

Maybe DAB+ is also an option for you then? Way more channels also on digital radio 😊

Could you tell me about that wire on the windshield on the driver side, is it rain sensor or some kind of heating element? If that is in fact rain sensor will it work in a place that the wipers are not wiping? Overall great video! I my self have 1998 V70
Hello Nikoplpl! Those wires are a DAB+ antenna for radio. In the Netherlands FM radio is possibly going to end sometime in the near future.
Rainsensor would be cool though😊
