    Thanks for the info. It seems very important to moving in an awareness of avoiding injury. Still not sure what movement in each of the planes really means, though. I'll watch more videos.

      Here's something that might. It's not a complete answer, but it might help establish a reference point. Go by what the belly button does in a given exercises. If it moves up and down (squats, pushups), it's a saggital based exercise. Side to side (lateral squats), it's a frontal plane exercise, if it rotates (cable chops, swinging a golf club) it's transverse. Hope that provides a bit of additional insight!
