And then they do it to you and it's like neighbors in a Bagua hanging contest.
I went with a friend. There were options to hit a specific person or "everyone that may harm you" (ie. non-specific). The goal is the prevent these people's bad energy from approaching you. We went with another lady for the non-specific option and she was hitting the paper and reciting things like, "may bad people be away from you!" etc. We were really listening to her and suddenly she paused and spoke to a potential customer walking by and the built up moment was ruined. We lost concentration so I am not sure it worked or not. We might have to redo it.. It's not expensive and I read online that this ritual is to scare away pests in the old times.
