On the topic of bazi, I’ve been to many fortune tellers who claim to read bazi & it is very refreshing to hear from Sean that ultimately, it’s you (and your mindset/attitude) who decides your own fate - and not by wearing certain colours, avoiding certain elements, avoiding some zodiac signs etc.

but your attitude and mindset is largely dictated by your prenatal tendencies. if your chart has alot of water as example, you're prone to being emotional and overthinking.
all of us are born with past life tendencies or skandhas.
This "decide you own fate" thing is just some inspirationally sounding words these new age astrologers use to make people with poor bazi chart feel less miserable and at same time make you feel good and "like got hope".
if you have a chart with no spouse potential, then you won't have it.
unless you're supremely cultivated like Chin Kung or Yuan liao fan to alter their lives, most people are just following their fixed destiny.
@@of8ightandse7en16I don’t disagree with you on the first part on our natural tendencies, but if you can quote 了凡四訓，I would presume you know there is hope for someone to play their cards right and encourage them to, well, like you said - cultivate themselves, instead of believing that they can't escape their fate. Or worse, believe in lucky charms or Feng Shui items thinking it's some shortcut to life.

I am in my 30s now, and I started to believe my life path is set in stone. I just have to walk it and understand why. I am probably with the a massive negative Yun, like Sean said its written in there. No matter how much I tried to change it, fate dictated otherwise.
One example is that my friend who wanted to switch fields recommended a course in IT provided by a company that will eventually help us find a job in selected govt agencies. I was already in IT/engineering so I should have an advantage. We applied together and got into the same class. However, he was hired swiftly after graduating, and one year later, I am still unemployed. We realized that the company only hires people fresh in this field.
What can I possibly do better to change this? What Yun is this?

Getting your fortune told is like consulting with an analyst on cause-and-effect of our potential actions, what challenges lie ahead and how we might deal with it, the potential repercussions etc. It is still up to our interpretation and how we choose to deal with our actions and challenges faced. Indeed like Sean mentioned, 运 is actually closer in meaning to 'fortune' instead of the stochastic random 'luck', where one has to actively and consciously take action in order to seek it. Opportunities will let slip if we choose not to seize it afterall.

this was a lot better done than the one with babaji, it was good to see wendy approach the topic with a more open mind trying to learn as opposed to challenging the interviewees, even if it doesnt necessarily align with her own beliefs.
I myself read tarot cards for clients. I totally agree with both Sean and Nara. We are just messengers to provide you guidance on your current journey. We cannot dictate how life will go for you or cast magical spells. You only decide what you want to receive and implement through our readings and live your life.
Personally, I believe I’m acting as a mirror for my clients to see where they’re at and what can they expect should they continue on the path with their inner energetic space.

fortune telling has always been difficult to understand for me:
1. how do we know if the telling is truly accurate or if it is just the barnum’s effect at play with our human psyche?
2. how often has fortune telling predicted things wrongly vs correctly? why do we not have access to this information?
3. if a fortune telling goes right, the teller is praised; if a fortune telling goes wrong, it is because life has so many unpredictable aspects so that is to be expected (or insert any other seemingly-valid reasons)… how can someone make sense of this strange win-win outcome that benefit fortune tellers? (and thereby makes it impossible for others to question this field?)
4. how can one differentiate a genuine teller vs a fake? (both can simply say to you “you will experience ABC in year XXXX” )

Nah, it's not ignorant. They're good questions. I feel being able to think critically within an esoteric field is important, and exactly what the industry needs now. =)
A good fortune teller encourages possibilities in your life, while a bad one scares you into thinking there's no light in the future. It's hard to tell if a fortune teller is genuine or fake.

I'm an Intuitive card reader myself. I do coach my client during reading as a guide on how to navigate the thoughts and mindset from the results of the reading. The cards drawn for the client is according to the energy of the client at the point of reading. What the energy transmits to the cards is just how energy works. We can't see energy, but energy has a movement. It creates an effect. Energy card reading is a supplement to affirm sometimes the subconscious mind of a person, too. As long as the client is keen to know, the cards will always show the message meant for the client.

Basically those legit ones like tarot reading can somewhat give you a light into your destiny of choice whether it is good or bad. But it’s up to you whether you take that path or not. There are challenges as well definitely not like winning a lottery.
Now and then I do I Ching divination for important decision making, it has been spot on. Fate is not the cause, it is the effect.

Though our life is predetermined. But it's can be changed according to oneself actions. Be good or bad. There's a book called 了凡四训 where the author shared how his about his life which he felt his life was kinda predetermined till he realised that life itself is constant changing and impermanent. The pros of constant changing mean that whatever we do in this life, be it good or bad will affect our current and future lives. In short, good bazi comes good action, speech and mind from the past. So as bad bazi. But if we do more good deeds starting right now, we have flip ourselves up towards good life now and future

Uplifting to hear the recognition of this fine book. Apart from the diligent ways of changing our attitudes and actions, there are still many other ways in which we can do to change destiny. Do check out True Buddha School. One of which is reciting the Earth Deity's mantra.
no right or wrong as far as one interpretation goes in terms of predicting or coaching. The first law in this universe is the force of love, it fuels your desire, the inner energy, not forgetting that love is giving and unconditioned when that is truly the basic foundation of one given life, putting action into cultivating love of oneself "self care" has to go inwards to achieve better awareness and mindfulness knowing what you feel and what you think, its all about personal navigation in life. At the end of the day the saying goes " mine is mine, yours is yours. " what is given is yours , what to let go isn't mine. Quick hack and close your eyes, feel what you love and how that feeling is when u practice more often than not. It's easy to fill your life with love and keep it close to your heart and let it manifest naturally and soon enough your cup is filled with love that is overflowing to which you give and to further receive more from the universe and those people around you and the community that we live in. namaste to all.

Personally I feel that the consultations are to seek guidance and we still have to act on it ourselves. It is impossible for one to provide a definite answer for every individual. Scam or not, depends on how invested you are.

Actually Wendy's bazi has a lot of water (Indirect Resource, which represents unconventional learning and spirituality) which is also negative. She shouldn't really go into superstitious stuff. Very easy to meet and trust the wrong people.

Not at all for unnatural death. While destiny is depicted as a pre-written book, there are still pages for us to write. Hence, brings forth chances to change one's life.

@@worldtreeboy8712 Always use Solar Time. Using the time on the clock is wrong and it's not about going with what you feel is your 'fated time' as per what I've heard. The clocks we use these days and the concept of GMT didn't exist back in those days when BaZi was developed. People measured time by looking at the position of the Sun. Hope this helps!

@@Enchante... Believing everything is 'destined' makes people lazy and unproductive. They may think, 'What if I'm born rich?' So, your statement about the 'bowl analogy' is misleading. Many people born in poor environments or countries become successful doctors, lawyers, etc., through will and hard work. I can name countries where discipline, hardworking people, and good governance propelled them to the top, while their neighbors lagged behind due to mindset.

You can consider it a sort of 'cope'. Humans are inherently curious, and it'd trouble them (us) when we can't put an explanation to things that happen, and also the uncertainty of the future.
