I'm so glad I had the privilege to have worked with her at the SARS 1:99 Concert. She was such a nice person and an inspiration! I was so sad when she passed and helped by working at her funeral handing information updates to all the reporters. My one last job to say goodbye to her. 😥

She embodied the spirit of Hong Kong. H.K. rised from a humble beginnings and achieved economic prosperity and became the “pearl of the East”. Anita liked H.K. had never lost the hard working ethics, generosity and empathy towards others.
She is the daughter of Hong Kong. We will always be grateful to her contributions to H.K. 😢

She is well loved because she valued people. Be it fans, family or friends. Basically the kind of people you want to have around to cover your back in life when you needed them to. Such people are too few and hard to come by in life no matter what era we are in.

Oh I loved her in Ghana. Back then as a teen we didn't know cantopop all we knew abt Chinese people was tbe martial arts movies, we sadly stereotyped all Chinese people as one. Her movies with Jackie Chan were sooo popular in Ghana. When internet was common I googled and was so sad she had passed. May she rest well. 🇬🇭

I lived in Hong Kong during the 80's and I remember my dad telling me when he came home one day that he had run into Anita Mui on the street. When he got excited, she very nicely and sweetly told him shush so as not to attract attention. I was not a fan of Canto-pop so had no idea who she was. Also, Leslie Cheung jogged passed me and my friend on a hill one sunny day. Once again I had no idea who he was but my friend did and so did a bunch of excited girls behind us, lol. This is my first time hearing about his suicide, may they both rest in peace.

I am surprise. I saw her memorial place in Hong Kong Up The mountain (Giant Buddha) when I was in Hong Kong. The lot she bought was VIP, entire space also whole family lots. She is an iconic queen female artist on her era 80's. Her songs were timeless. Her voice is special. And she is also a great actress. Her movies are awesome. Maybe this memorial outside space is for public paying tributes, not the one memorial space on the HK mountain of the Giant Buddha was her private memorial space.

Your homeland is not dead it is changed instead. Nothing remained the same in this world forever and time marches on without waiting for anyone.

I love listening to HongKong singers from the era of Zhou Xuen on the 50s of Shanghai and HongKong. The songs of that era of the late 40s -60s are are truly memorable. It was a terrrible Time when China was invaded and
occupied by the west and Japan. But inspite of the gloom and oppression from the west, the the film industry under the Run Run Shaw brothers really opened up theme of challenging social à n d economic repression. I remember only a few names of the actresses, Song Titles and Singers of that time -
    Zhou Xue
    Li Li Huas
    Lin Dai
    Grace Ke Lan
    Yueh Tung
    Yu Ming
    Xiao FungFung
The band and three modern jazzy- Chinese fusion songs and music are
unique. they Some of the unforgettable Songs loved it and sung by 4 generations are -Tian Tian yaya
    -Wu Yueh da Fung
    -Cha Cza Cha
    - Bu Liao Qing
    - Wei shim Mo Yau Tui Ni Tiao Yen Lei
    - Yueh Lai Xiang
    - Ren Shou Ren Sen Ru Meong
    - Wei Shenmo Ni Bu Wei lai
-Ze Lu Dao Piao ya piao Lang da Lang
*My Chinese will be greatly improved if the
recording of these ungu forgetable 50s-60s Shanghai-HongKong songs provide the Chinese language written clearly
    UTube and Utuber.
Thank you so much for putting out your recording.

All the actresses, actors, singers wouldn't be possible nowadays. The Hong Kong broadcasters of today are all chained by mainlands politics and producing mediocre products and artists.
