Since Patch 3 dropped, you may be prompted to update Frosty. Just follow these new steps!: 1. If you’ve yet to get the newest version of the Frosty Mod Manager, this would be a great opportunity to do so! You can get Alpha-v3 from the same link as before (github.com/wavebend/FrostyToolsuite/releases ). If you’re already using the newest version, skip this. 2. After opening Frosty, you’ll see the message to update via “Origin”. This just means open Veilguard like you normally would without mods (for me, that means hitting "Play" in Steam), and then hit "Next" in Frosty. Updating might take a couple minutes (especially on the last SDK step), but wait patiently until it's done, then close out of the game. If you weren't prompted to update, skip this. 3. Find your ModData folder (which will be in the same place as your game .exe; for me, that’s Program Files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>Dragon Age The Veilguard, and then there it is). Delete this ModData folder! Trust me: Frosty will create a new folder for you the next time you launch from it. 4. Restart FMM now, and then you can pick up my Tutorial from its STEP 3, adding and applying all your mods and launching from the Mod Manager like I've shown. (And if you were already modding with the old version of Frosty and want to download the same mods you were using before, you can easily relocate them by clicking your account icon on Nexus>My Mods>Download History tab.) I'll do an updated tutorial video with these new steps in it as soon as I can, but please just remember that in the early days of modding a new game, things can be a little unpredictable and get updated rapidly. I’ll always get this new information out to y’all as soon as I’m able! 💚
Thank you, but even following these steps the game won't launch unfortunately. Well, early modding issues maybe. Unfortunate that there is no way to manually launch
Just thought its worth mentioning that if you followed any guides on increasing performance/stutter such as running the game as administrator, disabling full screen optimisations etc etc and you cant get the Mod Manager to launch the game, revert all those steps you made. I couldn't get the game to launch with mods until I had reset the application settings, posting this so hopefully I save others some time!

Frosty worked wonderfully for me…until Veilguard updated on Steam a few hours ago. Now it doesn’t launch on Frosty at all even after it makes a new SDK profile.
Hi Cobra, question, do you have the deluxe edition of Veilguard? I downloaded some of mods you used but anytime I try to install the mod i keep getting a message that says, "Mod was designed for a different game version." Not sure if ppl are having the same issues. I have the standard edition.
I do, but that just means that the mod was made pre-Patch 3. They'll still work though! You can just ignore that message/the little yellow caution symbol.
Friends, I really need help! Please, if anyone had such problem, how to fix it: sdk just doesn't update, I launch game and there is en error and red cross in mod manager. Oh, and I am using pirate game, if that is important
I can get into the game just fine and all mods load perfectly. I can play normally and go through conversations and stuff. But whenever it's time for one of those cutscenes with Varric's voice over at the end of a chapter or quest or whatever, I get a CTD. I've tried each mod separately, the same thing happens, so I believe it's a mod manager issue, not any specific mod causing the crashes. Any insight into how I could fix it? The modded armours look so much better. 😭
If you can play through the Varric narration with no mod, I know this is a pain, but when you're about to end one of those quests or if your game crashes, I would just close out of the game and then launch normally instead of through the manager so that you can at least get through the section from your last save without mods. Then restart the game using your mods again. In the early days of modding a new game, there might be weird issues like this, so we'll just have to keep our eye out for fixes. I'll definitely get back to you if I find that other people are having the same problem and let you know what the solution is!
@@Tevos1935 It's no problem at all! I wish I had a better solution for you already, but you're right: I'm sure we'll start getting some updates here soon.
@@Tevos1935 Just wanted to circle back to this to let you know there's a new version already! Hopefully it solves your issue. github.com/wavebend/FrostyToolsuite/releases
Just a few questions: 1. Are you using Steam, EA, or something else to run the game? 2. When you hit "Launch", does it look like the game is trying to start but then nothing, or are you getting an error message? 3. Have you tried some general trouble-shooting techniques like updating your drivers/restarting your PC or running Frosty as an admin?
You could try running Frosty as an administrator and/or verifying that the path to the game .exe is correct. (In Steam, you can double-check this by right-clicking on the game>Manage>Browse Local Files.) There is also a new version of the Mod Manager that might work better for you!
Hmm. Are you positive that you're using the newest version of FMM from the link I gave? And also extracting the download first? Too, you may want to double-check that your game path is correct.
Loved your tutorial, but I'm having issues, the game launches through Frosty but the mods don't apply no matter what I do, I've tried using frosty fix, running as administrator. I've modded games before using Frosty so I know how to use it kinda. Anyone got an idea as to what the issue could be? I got the game on epic games and it launches through the EA app.
Thank you, and I'll do my best to help! I have a some questions and suggestions to get us started: 1. When you hit "Launch" in Frosty, do you get any pop-ups asking for elevated permissions? This will help me figure out if FMM is actually trying to interact with your game files or if it's just bypassing them. 2. What kinds of mods are you using? If they are visual edits, you might just need to make sure your graphics settings are set to Ultra. 3. Make sure that you're signed into EA, then minimize it before starting FMM and launching. Sometimes that helps things get along better. 4. I'm not sure if getting the game from one place and running through another is causing the issue, but you might just want to verify that your game location path is set correctly (and that you don't somehow have two copies of the game in two places... weirdly enough, that happened to me once, and now I'm paranoid about it!) 5. You could try clearing the EA app cache or possibly deleting the ModData (or similarly named) folder from your local files. 6. I'm guessing that this won't be it since your game is launching fine, but just to cover my bases, I always like to remind everyone to update their drivers and restart their PC if they are encountering an issue. Please let me know if any of that fixed it or not!
@@PosiCobra Thanks for the help, think the problem might be in that first thing you mentioned because it just launches the game without asking for permissions. The mod I was trying to install was one you used, a retexture for inky's outfit and I have my settings on ultra. I am signed into EA and I just checked, I don't have two copies of the game in different places.
@@shame6705 Okay, thank you for the information! I'll see if anyone else that is using EA has a solution. Also, I haven't been able to test that Inquisitor mod yet, so you could maybe test if another mod shows up for you instead? Like a mod that changes font is really easy to spot if it's working right away, or one of the armor retextures is a quick check just by visiting the wardrobe. Just to verify that no mods are working at all.

This looks super easy to get going which i am excited about, however I cannot for the life of me get FMM to launch at all, I've tried just about everything I can think of myself including running it as administrator but nothing seems to be helping, any advice?
Hmm. Running as an admin would be my first response too, so if you've already tried that, maybe you can answer some questions for me (sorry if they seem pretty obvious, but I just want to double check): 1. Did you extract the zipped folder you downloaded from Github before trying to run the Mod Manager? 2. When you double-click on the FMM application, does nothing happen at all or does it look like it's trying to run but then failing? (Like a blank window or a loading icon wheel, etc.) 3. Have you tried the baseline trouble-shooting strategies like updating your drivers and restarting your PC?
@@PosiCobra so updating my drivers was a good call but unfortunately it didnt help and i did extract the files as well; it looks like it tries to launch, my mouse icon gets a loading icon wheel but then nothing happens
Just to make sure since I've seen some people in the Nexus having issues, you got the mod manager, not the editor, right? FMM is the second item on the list of downloads.
@@Jaye-i3c Dang. This might just stump me, but I don’t want to give up yet! Have you tried it with anti-virus software turned off? (Also, just curious: have you ever used an older version of Frosty to mod any other game?)

(steam ver if that's anything to do with the issue) I'm sad :(
If you hit Add on that first popup as soon as you start up Frosty, you should be able to put in the correct path to Veilguard like I show at 2:08 . Is that showing up for you?
@@PosiCobra the first pop up when launching the FMM app is a window with error only :( idnt even had a chance to get into the app itself :( I'm trying to find here the file leftovers from DAI are but it's in vain. Such a weir sit :(
@@Vinghen That is weird! When you uninstalled Inquisition, did you do it directly from your files or through Steam?
@@PosiCobra Hm, not sure (2y ago memory not working haha) but I think probably used the Steam.
(btw THANK you so so much for taking your time for this
@@Vinghen Okay, then I had another idea that won't work. 😔
It's no problem! I just wish I had a solution for you. But I'll let you know if I find or think of something else!
Anyone else running into the specified profile when selecting the game?
Frosty worked wonderfully for me…until Veilguard updated on Steam a few hours ago. Now it doesn’t launch on Frosty at all even after it makes a new SDK profile.
Never mind. It works now. Just needed to delete the ModData folder.
Where’s the mod data folder
@@washyofeetyanastyhafa It’s in the game directory.
@@PosiCobra Oh wow, thank you very much, that's so sweet of you! ❤I hope we get out of alpha soon so FMM stabilizes.
I cannot find the mod data it says accese to the path is denied
I'll try to help! Are you using Steam or EA? Also, where and when are you seeing the "access to the path is denied" message?
i've done everything from the pinned comment and the video but the game doesn't launch from FMM.
what should i do?
Just a few questions:
I keep getting an unhandled exception pop up and nothing I’ve tried has worked. It keeps saying that access to the path is denied.
You could try running Frosty as an administrator and/or verifying that the path to the game .exe is correct. (In Steam, you can double-check this by right-clicking on the game>Manage>Browse Local Files.) There is also a new version of the Mod Manager that might work better for you!
I don't get the encryption key prompt and i get an error when i try to load the game on frosty. anyone else have this problem?
I have a some questions and suggestions to get us started:
4. I'm not sure if getting the game from one place and running through another is causing the issue, but you might just want to verify that your game location path is set correctly (and that you don't somehow have two copies of the game in two places... weirdly enough, that happened to me once, and now I'm paranoid about it!)
@@shame6705 I just wanted to come back to this to let you know there's a new version of the Mod Manager now! Hopefully it solves your issue. github.com/wavebend/FrostyToolsuite/releases
For some reason I keep getting an SDK error. There doesn't seem to be a fix and I followed all of the steps!
EDIT: I'm an idiot, if anyone else gets this error, just launch the game and THEN hit next.
You're definitely not an idiot! But I'm glad you figured it out. 👍
This looks super easy to get going which i am excited about, however I cannot for the life of me get FMM to launch at all, I've tried just about everything I can think of myself including running it as administrator but nothing seems to be helping, any advice?
Hmm. Running as an admin would be my first response too, so if you've already tried that, maybe you can answer some questions for me (sorry if they seem pretty obvious, but I just want to double check):
1. Did you extract the zipped folder you downloaded from Github before trying to run the Mod Manager?
2. When you double-click on the FMM application, does nothing happen at all or does it look like it's trying to run but then failing? (Like a blank window or a loading icon wheel, etc.)
@@Tevos1935 yeah i did download the right one, made sure just in case though ty
How long "creating SDK" should take? I give up after 30 minutes
Ok that fixed itself but the game wont launch :(
@@galilea723 30 minutes is longer than it should take, but I'm glad it worked! Now have you deleted the ModData folder? (And you will need to close out of the game and probably restart Frosty before launching again.)
i really hope another modder comes up with a different method, ive always hated frosty because u have to run it every time u wanna use your mods, i prefer mods u drop directly into the games main folder or create a sub folder and drop them there & u can just load the game up & there just ready to go, ive always hated frosty maybe its just me, i was really hoping when the modding community got hold of this game frosty wouldnt be involved
Any game that uses the Frostbite Engine is going to use the Frosty Mod Manager from now on. I think it's pretty intuitive and easy to use once you get used to it! (Though I know what you mean about the drop-in-folder method we used for DA: Origins.)
Every time I try to update the SDK PROFILE, it says waiting for process to become active. So I open the game.
Then it fails and it says "unable to access specified process".
any suggestions or tips on what I can try to fix it? thank you :D
Have you tried opening the game first and then hitting "Next" in Frosty, not the other way around?
@@PosiCobra Yeah, I just tried it to make sure. Either one I open first. Same issue sadly :(

Hi, I purchased the game on epic and had to launch it through EAapp. After I followed the steps in the video, the mods in the game did not work. Is this because of EA? And is there any solution for this.😮💨
Another person has mentioned the same issue, and I don't currently have a solution; it seems that Frosty gets confused by Epic purchases. There is a new version of the Mod Manager out now though that could possibly work better for you! github.com/wavebend/FrostyToolsuite/releases

How do I get it to launch on EA app? When i launch, it only open the EA app and not the game.
Did you delete your ModData folder (I give a more detailed explanation in the pinned comment)?
If you did that already, you could try opening the EA app and then minimizing it before launching through Frosty and/or running Frosty as an administrator.

Hello Posi Cobra,
you're my rescue, because I was not able to play this game until this day.
My questions:
0) Is it possible to extract AND reimport audio files?
Expl: The fantasy gender language has to be removed!!
1) Is it possible to extract AND reimport meshes? Qunari Horns(Editor)/ Qunari npcs need a workover, so that they look like Qunari and not like disabled people.
Only if this is solved, I could touch the game.
Wow. Uh, no, I'm not going to help you be queer-phobic and ableist. I think you should play the game exactly how it is and hopefully learn something from it.
@@PosiCobraAnd I don't think I am going to buy it how it is, so...😉
@@tanzderritter2201 Your choice! You might become a better person if you did, but you could also learn about the spectrum of gender or people with various abilities in other ways too; I'm happy to give you some other game suggestions if you decide that you want to challenge your ignorance. 👋
@@PosiCobra I slept a night and thought over your arguments and I have to admit, you are right, concerning my capability for Impartiality. That means I am going to play the vanilla game. But only (free aka Game Pass or something like that) .
You seem to be intelligent. Thats not common on RUclips.👍
@@tanzderritter2201 I appreciate that! I'm glad you want to grow too, and thanks for being open to dialogue about it.
I use steam, but the game won't launch. What do I do?
You could try running FMM as an Admin by right-clicking, then hitting "Run as Administrator" (or through Properties). You might also want to make sure that Steam is open and running and then just minimize it before launching; sometimes I find that helps things run smoothly.
And I doubt this is the issue if you were able to find the game through Frosty in the first place, but just to make sure, you might also want to verify that your game path is correct by going to Steam and right-clicking on the game>Manage>Browse Local Files since it's possible that your game is in a different location than where mine is.
Does this disable achievements? I need just one but I also want to try mods lol
Just tested it, and achievements are still active! 👍
Yeah it isn’t working for idk why and I give up
I might be able to help if you tell me what step you got to. I also just added some updated directions to the pinned comment.
I did everything what you said in your pinned comment 😭 maybe it’s because I’m using stream?
@@washyofeetyanastyhafa Stream? Do you mean Steam, or is this something I'm just unfamiliar with?
