Just a tip! For the Crow/Shadow Dragon reputation, you can actually still raise it for the faction even if the main merchant for them is no longer available. Just head to the spirit market in the Crossroads and find a wisp merchant with the correct flag above their store and sell to them, they become available a bit later in the story and you can even buy gear you might have missed before the main merchant disappeared, I managed to get Shadow Dragons to 3 stars even though I no longer had their vendor available. You can't upgrade the merchant rank sadly, but you can still get 3 stars this way at least :)
This took me waaay too long to realize. I also learned that you can buy valuables from other vendors and sell them to one of the factions for reputation - helpful for upgrading the Crow/Shadow Dragon reputation that can be harder to increase through quests.
You can but you lose the appearances and decors for the factions if you dont upgrade so my suggestion is upgrade the destroyed faction to level 4 before you choose if you want those items. Xenon and that faction spirit only give mementos and non appearance armour and weapons.

The chests are NOTRNG. The same items drop every time from each chest. If you get a weapon, you will always get a weapon appropriate for your class. Same with armor. So, unless there is a patch after the posting of this comment, if there's an item you want, it will be in the exact same box you got it from the 1st time. The unique gear isn't the best gear, this is false. Some are perfect for some builds, however many of them don't give enough benefit for the nerf you get for equipping. All subjective to the kind of build you're going for but it's misleading to say the unique gear is the best. Next, every faction can be maxed well before the end of the game. There are more mementos than required. There are actually enough so that you don't have to buy a single one from the vendors if you don't want to & you'll still max out the caretaker power. momentos at the shops are only required if you want to complete the codex &/or level up caretaker faster.
I am so confused about what the faction vendors in Triviso vs Minrathous do after the decision locks them out. I want to save Minrathous but Triviso has a ring that I want to buy from the rank 3 shop. I would have to spend an exorbitant amount of time farming valuables to get the shop to rank 3 as there's only like 1 or two quests you can do before you reach a stand still in the game and can no longer progress without doing the warden quest. Will the ring from the rank 3 shop be available at some point.... or am I forced to save Triviso just for this ring?
Just to note, you can totally do the 3 statues in the Lighthouse (the ones that need to face their opposite) basically the very first time you reach the Lighthouse. The wisps themselves I have no idea when those show up (i havent gone past act 1 and so far never saw them, didnt know they showed up after doing the statues lol) but yeah, at least for doing the statues it doesnt require any additional companions to be found beyond the "base" ones (neve/harding).
I unlocked the music room but there are no wisps nor is there any of those spots to put the Wisps I wonder what the actual trigger for the Wisps are I assume it has something to do with neve but.

The vendor you lose in the Minrathous/Treviso questline will show up again at The Crossroads during Act 2!! You have use that green spirit essence stuff as currency instead of gold but otherwise it works the same re gifts, gear and upgrades for companions and building faction points 😊😊
Having completed the game, I don't believe that you can buy the items from the lost vendor from the Black Emporium if they were locked when you lost the merchant. Not even leveling the faction from the Crossroads merchant fixed this for me. I lost the Crow merchant and was never able to buy the Scourge rune throughout my playthrough which requires a level 2 merchant level. I'm trying a new playthrough and am going to try leveling the merchant I lose before the big decision and see if the Black Emporium inventory changes.
Good tips video thanks! ya i dont get all the negativity about this game. so glad i just bought it and didnt listen to the negative reviews. also nice to play a new game that works properly with almost no glitches at launch.
8:10 actually you don't need those quests. If you unlock the companion then you can use their skill right away without having them in your party. For me it was strange because i was able to move rocks alone before I even know there was a quest for this with Harding
The vendor you lose shows up as a wisp in the crossroads. So you can still sell items there for that faction rep and buy the items they would have sold.
I don't know if you have beaten them now but for anyone else who is having trouble, even on hardest difficulty I would recommend bringing in Lucanis with his Abominate ability which permanently reduces target defenses by 15. One thing I disagree with the guide is that I don't use detonations at all, they have too long of a cooldown on companion skills to set up and don't do enough damage to justify it (for my mage on nightmare at least). What build are you going?
How do you get the black emporium? Im already about to start chapter 9 and im finishing up companion quest now and the caretaker still will got give it to me
its a RPG, live with your choices I say. that's the best part. follow your gut or whatever, stick to your decisions and progress the story. then next play through, you try different choices!
Heres one if you want that uh Lord of fortune mage armor you have to have them as an origin. Cause It told me that after I got there with the necromancy people
I don't know why developers do this random loot isn't fun unless You're in an mmo. There are ways to do loot that's more enjoyable. if you want to keep random loot have a stable progression and allow transmog. a game like dragon age should have gear that levels with you and curated loot. the game as enough lore and lore based gear to do that
Cause we love the DA series, and finally got the next part. But it's just an empty game, with nothing from previous parts at all. Boring dialogs, boring quests, boring companions. I feel myself frustrated cause I was really waiting for this game. And I don't give a shit about LGBT content if the game is good in total. But Veilguard isn't good at all
Strange, because the game reminds me a LOT of DA:I. The combat is very similar to how I played, I never used the tactical menus, I just fought every battle as a hack & slash like I play DA-VG now. The dialogue can be a bit cheesy, but it's modeled after how people used to treat each other in the past... where they were actually friendly and courteous... not hateful and rude like today. So it's kind of nice actually having everyone being nice... compared to what we have to deal with IRL.
Trolls are so insecure of their sexuality that they are so allergic on Options that they can ignore. The biggest mistake is they don't ignore it and they cannot move on.😂

Another tip is do not rely on autosave when you're in the Crossroads. Autosave works so well that I just relied on it when doing the main quest. But it is not nearly as reliable within the Crossroads. I lost progress a couple of times because of not having recent saves within the Crossroads. Also I noticed you had the Harding quest Unfinished Business in your video. I lost a couple of hours of playtime on that quest because I couldn't figure out how to finish it. I searched for solution on the internet and RUclips but did not find out. Finally I had to revert to a save before I entered the area.
Aren't loot chests determined? As opposed to procedural. Won't help you on your first run though. And I heard the chests are different on each class. Meaning it will only help you when you replay that class later.
I don't think they are determined. Some at the ends of levels might be, but I died after opening one and came back to find something else. I might have just gotten it confused, though.
@@SunniestAutumn You're confused, chests are definitely not random. The gear slot and faction association is always the same; the item itself changes based on what class you are playing.

If your final build doesnt have at least 1 unique item, you're doing something wrong. I be the game on custom difficulty with everything turned all the way up and it would not have been possible without the last resort ring.
1. Buy the game. 2. Installing the game. 3. Starting the game. 4. Creating a character. 5. Naming a character. 6. Entering the game. 7. Playing the game. 8. Continuing the game. 9. Not shutting the game off. 10. Not uninstalling.
Lies you don't need your companions special abilities to interact with certain areas as that would require planning an effort , if you come across elements in the world that would require a certain party member and they are not in your team just use your dagger ... easy barely an inconvenience
I felt this. They sounded really interesting but most just had too many negatives or absolutely atrocious stats to even consider them. I think I maybe used two across the entire game? And the only one I really remember is a helm for my warrior that made my abilities cooldown based instead of resource based... which was just more of a change than a compromise haha

I was very vocal online about hating this game. I’m very against the agendas they put into the game but I decided to give it a go and ignore others and play it without bias. I’m enjoying it a lot 😂 if you don’t play you obviously hate it. If you play hoping you hate it…you will. The game is fun and the “woke stuff” is unnoticeable if you’re not looking for it minus a few scenes especially with one character.
at 41 hours I have a 100% save. All gears, shrines, boxes and full upgrades. Best ending and secret ending. I played as a MAGE. And let me tell you the game combat wise and speedwise is MASSIVELY biased towards mages. You can be 100 yards from fights, there is countless pieces of gear that both raises whichever element you choose as a focus and your basic light attack and charged light attack. I dont remember using the heavy attack even ONCE in my playthrough. I tried out both of the other classes and they are SO SLOW. I even made sure to look up builds for them to focus heavily on MASS dps and they still were WAY too slow. I hope for people in the future they get balanced because right now there is no reason to play as another character. There is no endgame, or chapter cleanup no new game plus and thats unfortunate. Ive already made sure I backed up my save and ive already uninstalled it. It was fun for a little while until I saw how much better that mage was then i stopped having fun sadly
Actually, you need the necromancer. When you first arrive at the Lighthouse and do the puzzle with the statues it only unlocks the Music room and not the discount. When you recruit the necromancer the second part of the puzzle activates and the wisps appear in the Music room and near the first pair of the statues.

@@mouuuuuu9000 it seems that both are correct, but reputation with the one you didn't pick is harder to get after you pick. not impossible, just more difficult. on my second character I'm building up the rep with the city i'm not saving so that I don't have to do the long way which is elsewhere in the comments of this video.
The vendor appears as a wisp in the crossroads market in act 2, iirc. All equipment should be available.
After you get the Mourn Watch companion (whose recruitment quest happens to have a tutorial for the wisp puzzles, conveniently).
@@Landis963 oh thats handy to know lol, just now unlocked the quest that will lead me to recruiting them :-p
I unlocked the music room but there are no wisps nor is there any of those spots to put the Wisps I wonder what the actual trigger for the Wisps are I assume it has something to do with neve but.
(⚠️: Story flow light spoiler? Just in case? 😆)
Hi!
Appearance of the music Room wisps is linked to companion recruitment, as far as I understand it. Go to Nevarra :)
Opportunity to do so occurs after the cities event.
@@inalaara thank you so much I did notice a wisp fly away after I unlocked one of the champion barriers after I posted this so I'm wondering if there's multiple wisps for multiple upgrades to the lighthouse thank you for answering my question without spoilers it is appreciated. At first I thought maybe I had a glitched game ♡
@@amandaritzau2602
Correction (again, story flow spoiler? Kinda? 😆 No details though, just allusions to the trigger):
Wisps from the music Room appear after you recruit both final team members. Just the one isn't enough, you need a cutscene first.
Just did it again and just one recruit bore no wisp appearance to my attempt.
Just got the game. Dunno what too. To build. Any suggestions? I usually do human rogue bow, but wasn’t sure
The vendor had tons of items still locked when i selected the other city. How do you max a vendor this early in the game? 🤔
same question here..
Farm sellables
heavens i want this game so badly! haven't got it yet but appreciate a lot all this kind of videos since i normally do all the things one shouldn't do haha
Spent 20 minutes fighting a dragon 15 lvls above me, solid gaming experience 😊
Good tips video thanks! ya i dont get all the negativity about this game. so glad i just bought it and didnt listen to the negative reviews. also nice to play a new game that works properly with almost no glitches at launch.
the negativity comes from racists and sexists using a beloved ip to push their agenda onto people. These devs are toxic.
Don't buy gear from vendors until Caretaker is maxed out first
hmm, that's a really hand tip!!
8:10 actually you don't need those quests. If you unlock the companion then you can use their skill right away without having them in your party.
For me it was strange because i was able to move rocks alone before I even know there was a quest for this with Harding
9:01 whats the mistake? That there are two variations??? Hows that a mistake
The vendor you lose shows up as a wisp in the crossroads. So you can still sell items there for that faction rep and buy the items they would have sold.
The mini bosses in the crossroads have too much HP ! A way to make it easier ?
I don't know if you have beaten them now but for anyone else who is having trouble, even on hardest difficulty I would recommend bringing in Lucanis with his Abominate ability which permanently reduces target defenses by 15.
One thing I disagree with the guide is that I don't use detonations at all, they have too long of a cooldown on companion skills to set up and don't do enough damage to justify it (for my mage on nightmare at least).
What build are you going?
How do you get the black emporium? Im already about to start chapter 9 and im finishing up companion quest now and the caretaker still will got give it to me
The games not as good as I hoped but I still enjoy it… almost 50 hours in
I let Treviso fall, and the Black emporium showed up in Dock town..
its a RPG, live with your choices I say. that's the best part. follow your gut or whatever, stick to your decisions and progress the story. then next play through, you try different choices!
Developers need to let leveling go past 50...just saying it is annoying and the ending is lack luster for sure
Why isnt the workshop discount work for me? i did the puzzle but no wisp thing is showing neither the activation spot for it?
They only showed up for me after I had all of the companions. The second wisp won't show up until you place the one that spawns in the music room.
@@SonicAlpha ohh i see alr
For lvling up the gear they will all be the same lvl if you just get them at base form and then get the rarity up especially if you farm recourses
These are great! Spending more time exploring the crossroads is a big one for me, it’s very easy to just ignore the place.
Heres one if you want that uh Lord of fortune mage armor you have to have them as an origin. Cause It told me that after I got there with the necromancy people
Is it possible to get the city you're going to sacrifice to 2 stars before the choice
had 2 stars with in this moment with both citys
Possibly if you ONLY sell items to that vendor, as you get faction points as well as gold when you sell items.
I opened the secret room at the lighthouse but there's no wisps or even pillars there to activate the second door ?
I did as well. I think we are just gonna have to wait it out till we get everyone at the lighthouse
Same for me, but I think it's like Baba said. We need all the companions to be at the Lighthouse.
@@Savathos Not all, just the necromancer ^^
I don't know why developers do this random loot isn't fun unless You're in an mmo. There are ways to do loot that's more enjoyable. if you want to keep random loot have a stable progression and allow transmog. a game like dragon age should have gear that levels with you and curated loot. the game as enough lore and lore based gear to do that
Sounds like the guy that did the skillup review. Probably the same person. They're the same person
I have been FT every where ! Thanks for the xroads tip , heading there now !
i dont get these people who leave all these mean comments if you dont like the game why are you clicking on videos about it? it makes no sense
But Veilguard isn't good at all
To warn people about how unfaithfull this game is to the DA franchise
Because they need justification for thier opinions by other haters
@@aytucto you probably don't love DA if you're talking shit about it online instead of playing it.
The biggest mistake is they don't ignore it and they cannot move on.😂
I have a female friend who is a gamer and also part of the LGBTQIA+ community and said, this game sets the community backwards.
@@SomeRandomDudeAF Bg3 not gonna compete with that. It is obviously top notch. Else like Dragon'sDogma2 that doesn't have iconic story to remember than its original DD1 too. also men wear bikini armors cuz it has better stats. Haha
@@stevenwoodward5923not my problem. Im okay with those options up and it doesn't affect my being.
@@stevenwoodward5923 No. Like you could like the game or not but no one give a flying f*ck outside of three websites. It does not influence community IRL or whatever. Also what community ? From where ? It such a weird thing to say.
I mean, @@SomeRandomDudeAF, we got Baldur's Gate 3 and Dragon Age, two of the biggest RPGs of the past few years. The conservatives got us the Cosby Show and NFTs.
So I completed the lighthouse statue puzzle immediately when I first got there. It opened up the door and the room but there are no wisps/receptacles there. I’m now over 10 hours in and this hasn’t changed. Is there another trigger that needs to happen?
They showed up at chapter 8 for me, after recruiting all companions.
You need to have Emmrich recruited
very helpful, ty!
Thanks! I was a bit overwhelmed but this helps a lot
when wolves mix with dogs, they get huge, weird genetic quirk, pure wolves aremuch smaller than their mixed pups
Hey I beat Manfred.... once... haha
I beat Manfred at rock paper scissor
*Talks about not skipping crossroads* proceeds to show Necropolis ghosts
Finding it so hilarious that all the mean comments on this video (and many other videos) are all just basically the one joke. Sounds about right that they're just parroting each other with no intelligent thought haha
Hate campaign fueled by youtube clickbait mafia, and these people don't even realize they are being milked for ad revenue while they happily type hate away. You'd think if they cared about videogames as much as they pretend to do they would be playing some and not just hate shitting on others enjoyment. Sad losers.
Are the uniques leveling with you? Because gou cant upgrade them right?
Uniques start at Maximum as soon as you get them.
I got the game a week ago and played it game blindly without knowing I have all trophies except for the one called enchantments 😭
😂😂 ive done so many things wrong, but ive had a great time so far lol. Ah well next time i suppose. Thank you for the video
I wish I watched this before I started I got blindsided!! After a wardens best friend are yoy locked out of the side quests in those cities if you hadn't completed them?? I was trying to get Emmerich as fast as possible I didn't realise I would be faced with a choice like that!
I hit 50 hour mark and my biggest mistake is caring for any choice made. They don't matter.
If your final build doesnt have at least 1 unique item, you're doing something wrong. I be the game on custom difficulty with everything turned all the way up and it would not have been possible without the last resort ring.
Luckily I’d grabbed the companion gift before they were hardened just prior to watching this video. Avoided that oops! Great video!
12:46 A sudden realization lol
1. Buy the game.
2. Installing the game.
3. Starting the game.
4. Creating a character.
5. Naming a character.
6. Entering the game.
7. Playing the game.
8. Continuing the game.
9. Not shutting the game off.
10. Not uninstalling.
Lies you don't need your companions special abilities to interact with certain areas as that would require planning an effort , if you come across elements in the world that would require a certain party member and they are not in your team just use your dagger ... easy barely an inconvenience
You need to unlock those companions skills before you can use them with the dagger
My biggest mistake was playing the game and not just watching someone play it on twitch. It wasnt for me
Man i am NOT feelin the uniques. At this point their all more negative than positive with a niche trait. i hope they get better.
Your first tip should be how the fk do I get the game to run. It’s my second day playing and I keep getting a Load Error.
Great vid tks
awesome!!!
Sooooo is nobody going to talk about the unique chest/statue bug?
Okay so what about if you dont care about gear?
For the first big decisions. Is there a way to get that certain merchant back later on ? Kind of sad it doesn't tell you anything about losing it.
No :/ although its possible the city merchants may have some of the gear.
@AlliedGhost it just sucks bc I chose neve for obvious reasons but I'm using a necrotic build lol. Since gear is randomly upgraded in this game (huge mistake from bioware) i wish there was a way to farm certain pieces of gear
@@tokamnich4709 Well, the Mourn Watch faction has a lot of necro gear and they are not impacted by this decision.
Don’t choose nightmare as difficulty setting
40 hours in and just got my full team together, there is alot to this game and it gets better the more I play.
DAMMIT!!! I wish I would have seen this video before going to that level that you talked about where you lose the vendor. I was really hoping that they would come back LOL. Crap!
Thanks! Im enjoying the game so much
I was very vocal online about hating this game.
Thanks !
Thanks! One of my favorite RUclipsr's :)
useful, thanks
Probably a dumb question
But do you think performance mode is better or quality?
at 41 hours I have a 100% save.
For the workshop discount puzzle, I did that when I first got to the lighthouse. So no, you don't need all of the companions.
Actually, you need the necromancer. When you first arrive at the Lighthouse and do the puzzle with the statues it only unlocks the Music room and not the discount. When you recruit the necromancer the second part of the puzzle activates and the wisps appear in the Music room and near the first pair of the statues.
@@Duszolap666 thank you!! I unlocked the room but could not figure out why the wisps weren’t showing up!
@Duszolap666 thank you for the clarification.
@@Duszolap666 Still worth doing the music room puzzle as soon as you get the lighthouse cos there's a chest in there with a lot of gold.
I gotta be honest. this game is brain dead easy. Everything can be maxed out with out trying. good lord....
