Solas is such a good and clear depiction of Wisdom that has turned to Pride. Sure he knows a lot and has a lot of insight, but he also believes that this makes him the essentially the chosen one and only he can save the world.
The spirit of Sera came and posessed Taash to give Solas flashbacks of his bad time with her 😂 I love the roasting from Lace (also her being a bit angry on him for breaking her friend’s heart) and Spite being this angry and a bit silly buddy but why do I feel in different circumstances Solas and Emmrich would be best buddies?
Same for Rook. Rook is usually very nice, a bit too much, but they also have some brutal lines for Solas and can transform into a pure hater seething and raging on Solas even unprompted in a conversation with no relation to it, it's frankly hilarious.
Solas is right about one thing, Rook created an amazing team. Despite his manipulations, despite his blood magic, despite his betrayal, despite all his murders, sins and crimes; Rook’ team will always have her back. They all gave hm nothing but the smoke and I live for it. After all the pain he put The Inquisitor and Rook through, it’s about time someone finally told him his pain doesn’t amount to all the others he has caused.
And he doesn't deserve anything more than what he's got. I love him as a character, so well thought out and executed to perfection, but as a person? He deserves more than a few broken bones! He locked himself in his own grief and pride, to the point he killed friends who trusted him followed him for centuries like Felassan because they refused to go along with his madness and manipulated and betrayed people like the Inquisitor and Rook, who had to risk their lives to fix the mess HE made because he did not want to search for another way. He even killed the one he loved first! He destroyed a world once already, he saw what horrors that brought, and yet he was ready to do it again to bring back a time and a kingdom that simply are not meant to be. And also, they fact that the sufferings of the Hero of Ferelden, of Hawke, of the Inquisitor, of Rook and all of their friends and possibly many of their deaths were a conseguence of his love-sick short-sightedness makes it all worse. Although, on this, Mythal deserves to be blamed as much and even more than him.
