I ended up using the older video before noticing this one but this new one is so great, the fact that you're still helping out even though this is an older game is amazing, you're a literal angel!
my like makes 50 lol, but i had to comment the same thing happened to me. thanks Food Then Games!! i thought, having just finished da1&2, that i would just be filling my Dai override folder again 😂
for a way too long explanation i badly messed up my system files when i let my brother in law try to figure stuff out on his own. factory reset the pc now everything youre saying in the vid im doing side by side- got to the link Dai Mod Manager to Dai- realized i hadnt downloaded it from steam yet- i even had to redownload 7zip. but the silver lining? im back to being in charge of my pc again, things are fixed, going back to normal and im responsible for all of it. wont be making that mistake again. from now on i do my own troubleshooting 🤣
I want to express my appreciation for this video. Everything is shown clearly, in real time, THE WAY IT ACTUALLY LOOKS in Windows, every pop up and prompt is accounted for and explained. Holy crap. This is the holy grail of mod installation guides.
Amazing guide, you are very clear when you speak and have every section divided up thoroughly. Been modding games for years but first time tackling DAI after a sudden urge to revisit the game (hadnt played since release). It's really refreshing, no super obnoxious intro music, a good microphone, organized, this is really above and beyond most tutorials in general.
Thank you so much for this, for years i've always tried to brute force myself into the modding scene - yet always found myself giving up due to frustration (i'm really not savvy as i'm a console player) but this was a very easy to follow, thorough and concise tutorial; i actually managed to install a mod for the first time. i know its a very small feat but I just wanted to thank you for being the first to actually help. much love!
Thank you for keeping these modding tutorial videos up to date and so easy to consume. As an experienced modder I still find them so entertaining to watch.
This is an excellent guide. I often have long periods between games and always forget certain aspects of installing mods, this is perfect to bookmark and follow. Thank you so much :)
I'm an experienced modder myself but I deeply appreciate these throughout step by step tutorials for troubleshooting, especially for games this old! Thank you.
You are officially my HERO! I was having so much trouble with Frosty, I spent the entire day trying to figure out why it wouldn't work. Changing literally everything and re-downloading the game, etc. Then I came across this. I used this mod manager from the link you had, downloaded compatible mods, and now everything WORKS! Thank you thank you sooooooo much.
I've never been brave enough to mod before, but I finally decided that I was tired of playing vanilla Dragon Age. I am so happy I found this video. Your instructions were easy to follow and I was able to take things step by step and feel confident in what I was doing. Thank you.
thank you so much oh my goodness, i tried to do this a few months ago and was just so lost because so much had changed; you are the best! can't wait to see your vids for DA4 hopefully 😆
BEAUTIFUL! I've been fighting with Frosty all day and I just want something that works NOW, even if I end up using Frosty later. Your video popped up right as I was searching. Actually worked to get a mod loaded, and I use the steam version! I'm so excited. Thank you thank you thank you!
Hands down one of the best modding tutorials i have ever seen. No steps missing, not too fast, not too slow, tipps just in case, time steps. Wow! Thank you!
very helpful was struggling a bit but this really helped me figure it out! thank you! Everytime I got stuck I realized I just had to watch the rest of the video hahaha
God bless you for making this phenomenal tutorial. I was sitting here probably an hour trying to figure out why my mods weren't working! Thank you for being an absolute angel!
Thank you so much for this video. I hadn't played the game in 3 years and when I tried my DAIModManager I got the exact same error you showed at the start of the video. Thanks to the new link and your method I was able to get it working again. I had spent the last evening that maybe Frosty was the only viable option and was getting sad that most of my favourite mods weren't converted to that format. You're a lifesaver :)
Thank you for all the Dragon Age videos, you're great at explaining and recommend things. Also, if anyone else is having issues with "access denied" to the Patch folder, try running the Mod Manager as administrator, it worked for me (I don't know if that was said in the video, but anyway).
thank you so much!! was upset that console commands were limited in the current edition of DAI and was looking for a way to download mods with a mod manager. this video was so helpful, very easy to follow :)
Thank you so much for making this video! I've just switched to PC fairly recently and got into Dragon Age again after a few years since playing the game originally on PS. This was super helpful and easy to understand the process of modding!!
It's crazy to me that it's easier to play and mod the first DA than the last one. I pre-ordered inquisition, and DAI and Frosty are so old, they're barely usable. Bless you for setting up that OG DAI download mirror via dropbox. I'll finally get to play this game and see how the trilogy concluded after.... damn I'm old.
Great vid. Perfectly paced, good visual, great audio, bookmarks, lovely. Wish i had a vid like that for all the games i have tried to mod so far. Would have saved me hours of frustration.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've never modded any game ever before and you made it very easy for a beginner like me. Your instructions are very clear, your video is simple to follow and it worked perfectly (ran the manager as admin right away after reading comments).
You beautiful human being, I have been fighting for my LIFE trying to get mods to work through Frosty, but one trip down your tutorial (scrapping Frosty entirely) and they're installed and working. THANK YOU.
was having loads of trouble trying top get the mod manager to run, so glad i saw in the comments if you run it as administrator that it works, god sent for this video
Thank you, was looking for a tutorial and the only ones I could find were like essay length text documents about Frosty and DAI Manager being used together so this helped a ton! Just wanted to raise the level cap for the DLCs lol
Edit: I've managed to get every gameplay mod to work and a few cosmetic ones, but it seems like hair mods just do not want to appear in my game at all! Anyone has any idea why that may happen? So I've been trying for days to reinstall mods like I was used to 5 years ago when I last played this game and this video helped so much since the Nexus download for Mod Manager was broken for me as well. In case someone did everything right and then the mods still didn't appear in their game, I noticed I personally have to open DAI MM as administrator for the program to have permission to modify the game files with the mods I picked out. The tutorial was amazing and saved me so many headaches I've had the last few days trying to figure out Frosty, so thank you!
Just ran into the dreaded patch number error, after looking on line for solutions I remembered your video mentioned the solution. Thanks to your clear explanation it was quickly fixed 👍
Excellent guide that worked without issue. The step by step instruction and complete idiot proofing really helped me out :D You're a fantastic communicator.
First time PC player and long time DA fan- it's so fun that I can mod now! Xbox doesn't allow DAI to be moded so I'm hyped that I got it to work! Thank you for this guide!
OMG THANK YOU POOKIE!!! I actually have a lot of experience with modding but I was struggling with DAI at first. Thanks to your assistance, my Solas is no longer ugly and I can romance him!!! 😍😍😍😍 Also off topic but you have a great voice!
You are fully awesome, thank you Food Then Games!!! Have not modded in a Dragon's Age (Lord I am sorry about saying that), now I have my mod back! Easy to follow directions that work. Huge thumbs up.
Thanks, never played DIA before, and figured I'd give it a try with a few quality of life mods. You explained it in a clear and concise way, and gave all necessary information, which is appreciated.
THANK YOU! I never installed a mod in my life, and you were a lifesaver. Can't believe i have to install an actual mod to have party banter trigger frecuently, but oh well... Thank you you again for suchh an amazing video!
Thank you so much, came back to the game after years and was having trouble with mods. This tutorial helped me so much, now my inquisitor looks fabulous
Hey thank you for this. I haven't played the game in years, and decided to try it again after modding out some of the features that I really didn't care for. I appreciate your guide
Was starting my yearly, sometimes bi-yearly playthrough and forgot everything about how to install on this game. I went watch the old one like always but found this gem instead. Thanks for uploading and helping us! I know I appreciate it!
Ah! Thank you so much! I'd been dying to replay DAI a while ago but ran into the same issue with the mod manager, and the way I play, I just can't do it without mods. I had no idea how to approach modding my game after that, and I couldn't find any other tutorials to help me. I'm happy I took the chance of looking it up again today now that you've made an updated video.
Great video! Clear, concise, and to the point walkthrough that even my knuckle dragging self can follow. Though I seem to have encountered an issue where the Mod Manager doesn't want to open, it will sit there for a moment and then close. Admittedly, I downloaded more than a single mod prior to reopening, hopefully that isn't the issue
Thank you so much for this video, you definitely helped me alot! :) I'm used to playing on the PS and played DAI I think 4 or 5 times now on there but after finally playing DAO and DA2 for the first time this year - and on PC (I'm not a PC player AT ALL usually :D), I wanted to experience one of my favorite games with some mods to add to the overall feel of it. :D Excited to see what else the game can do to make me fall in love with it all over again. ^-^
I recently began a new playthrough after a few years. However, I encountered an error message with my old mod manager, which you also mentioned at the beginning of this tutorial. As a solution, I switched to Frosty, and some of my desired mods were incompatible with it. Thanks to your guide, my sanity has been restored. Thank you :)
Very, very helpful. I have no idea what kind of nuke hit the mod community for this game, but finding the managers, exes, finding any kind of conversion, getting ANY of it to work has been an impossible nightmare. Even files on the Nexus updated in 2019 or 2020 lead to broken links, hidden tools, and non-functional filetypes. This has been a lifesaver, and very thorough and informative; I'm a tech man who didn't need a lot of this help, but for anyone who needs a full guide this is comprehensive, and I greatly appreciate you putting in all the work for it.
i got into dragon age with my girlfriend recently and was having a lot of trouble modding inquisition because so many videos and guides were outdated. Your video was incredibly detailed yet still clear and easy to follow, thanks so much :D
Absolute legend. Real glad i waited so long before picking up DAI again, had i started earlier i'd have not gotten this guide and i'd been SO frustrated that i accidentally Hardened Leliana, and didn't find out about it till 50 hours in. Why the Nexus mod managers like Vortex has DA1 and 2 but not Inquisition is beyond me.
I believe it has to do with game engines and modding methods -- DAO and DA2 are simple override folders for mod installation so it's easy to patch into vortex -- where as for .daimods they have to create new patches and actually patch into the game which I don't think is easy to build a vortex extension for!
tysm for this its helped a bunch! i was looking for a tutorial to mod the game and i saw this had JUST been uploaded, its very straight forward and easy to understand so thank you!
thank you so much!!! i wanted to soften leliana bc i made one mistake (kill the traitor...) and i found the mod to fix it but there was no guide. Yours really saved my game!!!!
Super helpful. As FoodThenGames said, running as administrator can fix issues. I was getting this error when I tried to merge Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\EA Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch_ModManagerMerge\Data' is denied. So I right clicked on the mod manager exe and selected run as administrator and this solved the issue.
thank you so much, i haven't played dai in years because my laptop couldn't handle it anymore. before then i had a ton of mods installed and knew how to do everything lol, including all the screenarchery stuff. recently got a gaming computer and now i'm excited to play dai again! i stopped playing right before frosty came out, so i'm not going to mess around with trying to do frosty for now. i just wanna play the game with all my old mods, even though frosty mods look tempting... :eyes:
Modded DAI a few years ago using Frosty mods now I'll try .DAI. The Mod Manager is somewhat similar to MO2 for Skyrim--in my eyes. Thanks for video, trying my hand with this.
If you're having any trouble with the mod manager trying running it in administrator mode to see if that fixes it!
Thank you for the advice, I was like why is it task failed. Than I looked at your comment and a lightbulb went on
I’m having issues with merging the mods it keeps saying task failed
yep this was it, thanks
Am still unsure how to use that
ty
I ended up using the older video before noticing this one but this new one is so great, the fact that you're still helping out even though this is an older game is amazing, you're a literal angel!

still works in 2024 for everyone trying/going back to da after the veilguard announcement! tysm for the tutorial!

Thank you so much!!! And congrats on getting a mod installed! Honestly that’s sometimes the hardest part!
@@FoodThenGames heck yeah, i’m super excited for my first modded playthrough of anything ever on pc. Thanks again :’)
Thank you for keeping these modding tutorial videos up to date and so easy to consume. As an experienced modder I still find them so entertaining to watch.
As someone who has just now found and fallen in-love with DAI, thank you for posting these videos!
Thanks so much for this! I've used this guide and your older ones for several playthroughs of DAI and they're so clear and easy to follow.
in love with your videos. thank you for going into detail :') my adhd struggles with even the simplest of directions so this was great!!
This is an excellent guide. I often have long periods between games and always forget certain aspects of installing mods, this is perfect to bookmark and follow. Thank you so much :)

Thats crazyy i was looking at your other video that was 2-3 years ago trying to figure this out lol This helps a ton thanks!
God bless you for making this phenomenal tutorial. I was sitting here probably an hour trying to figure out why my mods weren't working! Thank you for being an absolute angel!
thank you!!! i was near tears trying to figure this out on my own but u explained everything so well
Thank you so much for this video. I hadn't played the game in 3 years and when I tried my DAIModManager I got the exact same error you showed at the start of the video. Thank you so much for this! I used to mod for this game and seeing all the changes, I wanted to try again. Now, I can see how to do this easily.
You are fully awesome, thank you Food Then Games!!! Have not modded in a Dragon's Age (Lord I am sorry about saying that), now I have my mod back! Easy to follow directions that work. Huge thumbs up.

thanks a lot for this. criminally late to dragon age. had no idea about any of these at all. great guide
Thank you so much for making this tutorial! You also have such a good speaking voice! Can you do a tutorial for everything in the world?
THANK YOU! After hours of screwing around with Frosty, this worked IMMEDIATELY.
Super easy tutorial, ive never really been able to get DAI mods working, but this vid really helped. :) Worked like a charm
First time really getting into this sort of thing. Your videos are a huge help thank you 😊
Thank you so much, came back to the game after years and was having trouble with mods. This tutorial helped me so much, now my inquisitor looks fabulous

Thanks for the tutorial and most of all a working download link, spent ages trying to find a Mod Manager link that worked
Easy to understand, even from someone who isn't fluent in english, thank you so much !
Thank you so much this was incredibly easy to follow and worked great!
Thank you. I got a strange denied error, but I just ran the mod-manager in admin mod and that resolved it. Thought I would share. :")
I wish I found this earlier, it would save me so much pain in the bum. Great video.
tysm! i got DAI cuz of the steam sale and im so excited to start playing now :D
Thank you so much for this video, you definitely helped me alot! :)
I'm used to playing on the PS and played DAI I think 4 or 5 times now on there but after finally playing DAO and DA2 for the first time this year - and on PC (I'm not a PC player AT ALL usually :D), I wanted to experience one of my favorite games with some mods to add to the overall feel of it. :D

Awesome! So happy I came across this. I'm not a beginner by any means but I forget EVERYTHING! lol
Thanks you for the video from France ! It helped me to recuperate my save files.
Really appreciate this! Saved my skin trying to get some basic quality of life mods added to my first PC foray. Thanks again!
Hi ! Great tutorial thank you :) Im suprised people still mod Inquisition :)
This was super helpful to someone like me with 0 modding knowledge. Ty for the amazing video XD
Cheers mate. My templar can finally get some spotlight now lol. That mod is sweet.
Thank you so much for takeing the time to make this video.
Thank you for the tutorial it was really clear and concise you saved me some trouble ♥
this is stupid proof tysm! explained and demonstrated so well I can't even mess it up, thank you so much!!
thanks.great video, detailed and to the point. we need more content creators like you!
i got into dragon age with my girlfriend recently and was having a lot of trouble modding inquisition because so many videos and guides were outdated. Your video was incredibly detailed yet still clear and easy to follow, thanks so much :D
Thanks for this. I'm revisiting DAI and I want to spice it up a bit. Mainly character creation and a plethora of hair mods.
Thank you so much, my mods are working now! It was very detailed and useful!
Thank you for this, very helpful for those like me who need some hand holding setting add on up.
Absolute legend.
Real glad i waited so long before picking up DAI again, had i started earlier i'd have not gotten this guide and i'd been SO frustrated that i accidentally Hardened Leliana, and didn't find out about it till 50 hours in.

Just as I was thinking about another DA:I run, thank you so much for your work!
Liked and Subbed! War Table timer really pissed me off LMAO
Thankyou for this clean, simple and extremely helpful tutorial
thank you so much!!! i wanted to soften leliana bc i made one mistake (kill the traitor...) and i found the mod to fix it but there was no guide. Yours really saved my game!!!!
Thank you! My Inquisitor's spine will be a lot healthier without all the looting animations. Great tutorial 👍
I will be doing another playthrough soon. Thanks for this!
Doing the lord's work fr thank you so much. Modding for Dragon Age is always so confusing for me
You're very welcome!
Excellent, precise and clear guide. Thank you very much!
Thanks for the excellent video! It was very thorough and I appreciate the detailed step-by-steps. :)
This video is well timed as I just bought it for the PC recently
