When it comes to the Never Ending legendary effect, i prefer it on shotguns & heavy weapons with long reload animations (rocket, flamer, gatling gun/laser). I never really liked it on laser rifles or assault guns due to the recoil
i ran out of stimpaks and food during rockets' red glare so i had to use stealthboys to sneak onto the prydwen, plant the bombs, and sneak back out without fighting Arthur.
A fully upgraded gatling laser is a few points behind the laser rifle in terms of damage. This is made up however by the fact that you can squeeze 1100 shots from a single fusion core and a higher fire rate.
one thing the never ending legendary effect is good on is the harpoon gun because then you can get the high damage of the harpoon gun with out the ammo restrictions of the magazine size
btw if you want easy cells do any missions with syths (where you are killing them) loot all the bodies (inlcuding gun) in only two missions I got 1300 cells.
Energy weapons are disappointing because they work almost the same way as regular guns. What about weapons without recoil, what about weapons that don´t need ammo just oveeheat instead, what about energy weapons shoot a consistent beam instead of a projectile or can stun enemies. That´s one of several missed opportunities in Fallout 4.
True. Energy guns without upgrades are weak and upgrading them requires high level perks and rare items. Ammo for it is also hard to find and are expensive
what annoyed me more was that you don't have to decide on which weapon to focus because all the damage increasing perks work for both ballistic and energy based weapons so you can switch whenever you feel like it plus ballistic weapons get the silenced sneak attack modifier from sandman while energy weapons get nothing only special focus is on gamma guns which don't work against ghouls and robots
14:32 It’s probably not a bug, it’s just a quirk of legendary effects. Many work off of the base stats, not the current stats. It’s not like the effect works 1 way for every other weapon and another way for the GL, just no other weapon has a mod that slows the fire rate that much compared to its base fire rate
In all the videos, I see you running with either an Automatic Laser Rifle, or with a Semi-Auto Laser Rifle. And I'm just playing this game for the 1st time (yeah, I know - great timing) and I think I found liking to the Sniper Barrel of the Laser Rifle. Sure - it has less magazine capacity. But it really does replenish it with the Damage it deals. I got to the point, where my Laser Rifle deals up to 79 Damage, per Shot...
man I wish the tesla rifle got the love it deserves, its got a great dps with vats as every shot in vats with a charging barrel counts as fully charged.
I would have to say the Righteous Authority is one of if not my favorite weapon in fallout 4. Edit: I also recently found a two shot plasma rifle which will probably replace my Righteous Authority.
For anyone who just picks up the game all you have to do for the cryolator is go get dogmeat ( he's at the red rocket before going into concord) fast travel back to vault 111 and ask dogmeat to fetch and he'll rip it off the wall and you have to trade with him to get the 200 ammo
The flamer you have seems to be having an issue. You have to put on the extended barrel last. If you do it any time before that it will not work properly.
What's funny is that I once did a Heavy weapon character and found a Random Legendary Gatling Laser with the same Legendary effect as Aeturnus. And then the save file got corrupted by some freak accident.
How to do this: put a single bobby pin in dogmeats items. Get him inside vault 111, and command him to go inside the little cage with the cryolator. Then command him to fetch an item. He will most likely grab the weapon through the locked case
Just thought of something. Is the fact that vendors sell ammo for the Cryolator a lore break? Think about it..According to the terminal entry, the guy who made it did it as an experiment. So the only people who'd even know what kind of ammo it takes, or that a weapon like the Cryolator even exists, are the dude who made it, that locked it up in Vault 111 in the first place, and the Sole Survivor. So where would the vendors in the game get ammo for a prototype, experimental weapon, which they've never seen before, that's been locked in an underground bunker for the past 210 years?
Vendors selling cryo cells isn't a lore break for two reasons. First, firefighter Protectrons can be looted for cryo cells since they have weapons similar to Cryolators in their arms. Secondly, Vault 111's Overseer designed the Cryolator using available parts on hand in the vault (presumably spare parts for the cryo pods). Vendors selling Alien Blaster energy cells would be a lore break. Cryo cells are plausible IMO.
Adding to this, vendors coming across this rare ammo type are flipping it for 32 caps each so presumably they're looting it off Protectrons and reselling it for a higher price.
I can see Aeturnus being better if you have carry weight issues and use power armor a lot, though Final Judgement is totally amazing and quite possibly the best heavy weapon in the game because it's an answer to everything. My character didn't use power armor so I had nearly 200 fusion cores by the time I picked it up and ammo was never an issue. There is an annoying feature to it, however, where it only uses up part of the core so if you're an obsessive re-loader this ends up filling your inventory with a bunch of partially-used cores. Other than that, I could have played through the entire game without bothering to use another weapon but it got boring after awhile. I'd say the only time I had a little trouble was with very fast creatures such as Ghouls, since Final Judgement needs a little bit of time to spin. Sergeant Ash is tailor-made for Far Harbor because you face a lot of hard-hitting melee creatures. The DPS and ammo consumption rate on it sucks but you can easily incapacitate an entire group with it and that's extremely useful when facing, say, a group of Dusky Yao Guais or an Enraged Fog Crawler. Once, a huge horde of Charred Feral Ghouls tried to attack my settlement and I totally crippled them all within seconds and then the turrets mopped them up before they could get anywhere near the settlement. Due to the poor DPS/ammo consumption, you will generally want to switch to another weapon (I prefer melee) to finish crippled enemies off, but this is really easy and safe to do because they're just slowly hobbling or writhing around on the ground. It's almost sad to behold.
I tend to turn the righteous authority into a early game monster by getting the over drive chem early on and investing into the better critical perk with an automatic version making it do stupid amounts of damage early on
For sneak based characters the Old Faithful would be better then the RA. Personally I found myself not using vats alot in close combat so I would have a laser sniper Old Faithful insted
13:10 i want it to come to everyone's attention that the aeternus DOES use ammo, it's just so slow that it's almost not even noticeable. i got it in one of my playthroughs and i have a ton of half-used fusion cores that are basically useless now because of their low charge
I finished the institute questline but elder maxson spawned on the airport roof and sank under the walls when he died making me unable to take the Final Judgment. I did reload again but he never spawns close to the liberty prime platform.
I usually try not to hit it if there is enough distance for me to pick my shots carefully. Usually I’m desperate, or don’t care enough in the moment and just shoot it anyway.
