Woohoo, finally some more crossovers! I lost track of how many you’re at in total but definitely a big boost in the crossover numbers..
Always so many great games on your lists, love love love the variety!
Your passion for games is always evident in your videos, but in this one I could see your faces and voices really start to light up. Your excitement was almost palpable and it made for a really enjoyable video! Thanks for sharing your passion and knowledge with us!
Thanks so much for the kind words!
OMGosh...I am here for the hat game Jeff. All we need is a captains hat, a corncob pipe and & can of spinach to close it out! Popeye FTW. But hey, you do you, I love it! Also, loving the series!
Haha I’m definitely running out of options already
Best intro ever🤣🤣 I love how much fun yall have when creating your videos!
So do we!! Thanks James!
Got to play Scout for the first time this weekend during our Cabin Con - everyone who played had a hoot. One guy struggled to wrap his head around the concepts while a few just immediately crushed, but yeah, it's a rad one.
Cabin Con!!!! I love that!! Happy to hear you enjoyed Scout!
Spent the day off sick and this was such a nice way to kick back and relax. Can't wait for the top 10!
Hope you feel better soon! Glad we could help with the recovery :)
Could you do a top 10 solo board games list. Love from the uk 🥰
Jamie’s doing one in feb!! Stay tuned!
@@FostertheMeeple omg so excited !
I can’t get over the variety in your lists. You really are omnigamers. I wish I loved direct interaction games more (although there are some I get on with, like Unmatched and Villainous). Are there mechanics or genres of games you wished you loved more?
Yea. We definitely have come to terms with that reality. And are fully embracing it. Hmm great question! For me, I’d say polynomial puzzlers, they are Jamie’s favourites (and some I do really enjoy like Planet Unknown), but my brain has a tough time puzzling out that kind of game so it’s tough.
Really pleased you're also loving the Root, and pretty sure our names sound better the way you say them !
Looking forward to the top 10!
(By the way Jamie it's your turn on our Root game!)
I'm not sure if it's a thing in Nova Scotia but a classic fisher person's hat In Newfoundland is a sou' wester. Might have to get my hands on one and send it to ya. It's similar to the hat ur wearing in this video just a longer back for water to run off.
I really enjoyed this segment of your top 50. I actually died laughing when Jaime started singing London bridge and Jeff just like froze and just waited for Jaime's song to run its course... Haha
I'm so hyped to see the final top ten!
Much love from Newfoundland!!!
Yes I know the hat!! Those bad boys are amazing
Shoutout to Boxed Meeples! Root is such a deceptively cute game though!!
Agreed!
Jeff have you tried Cold Water Crown or Freshwater Fly, a couple of fishing games. You rock that hat Jeffy.
I haven’t!! Should I?
The London pick came outta nowhere but that game is incredible. I've played it where I run my city once, gone for blue cards only, made a small city and ran it a bunch, drawn a bunch of cards to end the game quick, and it's always super close.
So many great games in this section. Love Scythe, love Viticulture, love Wonderlands War, and I am obsessed with obsession!
We just played obsession again tonight. It’s so good
SO MANY BANGERS! Root, Obsession, Viticulture, SCOUT. Scythe is #1 on my excited to play list. My buddy just got it for Christmas but he lives 2 hrs away.
Also, wow, I got a shout out this vid, we will play Res next :') very funny timing, keep an eye out in the next 24 hrs for me to return thae favor hehe.
Love it!
Top 3 things in this video: 3) candy on the floor 2) the intro 😂 3) the hatzz game (Never heard of London. Am looking it up.)
God I was dropping everything all day that day. Was a nightmare
Hey Jeff, did you have Dead Reckoning in your top 50 somewhere? I thought you did but I quickly scrolled back through the 50-11 vids and couldn’t see it
I didn’t! But I did mention that I believe it will make its way into the top once I really dive into it. I’ve only played it once and I don’t think it was enough to do it justice yet!
Yay, I knew you (especially Jamie) would like Obsession! Have you played it solo yet? Smoooooth.
I don’t think Jamie has!!
Dwellings of Everdale looks so great. Haven’t played this yet.
Great list!
Thank you!
The games are getting good 😀 Also, what are Swedish Berries? Are they like Swedish fish?
Yep the same as Swedish fish. Except they are shaped like berries and they are all the flavour of red fish.
Kyle is correct!
Let's go!!! Love seeing Wonderland's War on these type of lists!
It deserves all the praise James! Love what you’ve created for people in this hobby.
I’m so glad you guys loved your first Lacerda. On Mars is a gd masterpiece that should be next
We aren’t sure which one to do next!
We have all Isle of Cats and we have played Explore and draw almost exclusively lately. It's so easy and quick to setup and clean after the game and you easily have time to play after work, even multiple times. ... and still have time to do stuff with kids.
... if we play OG, we always play with kittens expansions.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing :)
I really wanna try Merchants Cove. Looks really good
Jamie. Stick with OG The Isle of Cats. I don't understand the love for the roll and right. SUPER fiddly, and not better
Thanks for the heads up!
If you are going to say words like bagel so awkwardly, I am going to require some extra Canadian phrases to balance it out. You'll probably want to toss in something like "How are ya now?", "Pitter-patter", or even "Donnybrook".
Hahaha I see we have a letterkenny fan
Is that a Tilley hat Jeff? I picked one up almost 20 years ago and it is still going strong.
This one is as new as the day I bought it!
Being a huge Star Wars fan as well I want to try Imperial Assault but it’s hard to find and I’m afraid of the rabbit hole it could lead down. I’ve already done so with Armada and X-Wing have you tried them?
I haven’t! For the same rabbit hole reason haha
Try a brand of soda called Zevias, it is sweetened with stevia and has no colorants :) they have a ton of flavors
I’ve had it!!
Totally with you on Fantasy Realms. I have 150+ plays in it
That’s a lot haha
Once again added a couple games to my list from this
Sorry not sorry!
Has Jeff painted the minis on Wonderlands war yet? I just backed the last one just because the minis look so dang cool. Have to have them and paint them and love them. Plus I hear the game is fun, so it wasn’t too hard of sell
I haven’t! I likely will down the road but I’ve got a major backlog at the moment.
I got my first Unmatched over the holidays (cobble & fog) and really enjoyed. Especially since I won as The Invisible Man.
I really need to try Viticulture. I don't even know how I haven't played it on BGA yet
(shame🔔).
Shammmeeee! Jk. But it is a good one!
I had high hopes for Scout but thought it kinda sucked at two players. Would be interested in seeing a playthrough from you or getting some tips on making it work at that number to encourage me to try it again. Maybe I’ve misjudged it.
That’s fair! Not gonna hit with everyone. I don’t think we do anything special to make it enjoyable at 2, it just works for us!
@@FostertheMeeple the frustrating thing is it *should* hit with us. I did find the two-player rules to be ambiguous so perhaps I need to find a few interpretations/explanations to see what we did wrong and how we can get it to click better.
Was Jamie's description for LOTR a reference to All You Can Board's description of the game in their toplist?
OMG haha I just watched that and it was after this video was posted haha not planned but that is amazing, me and Carlo are twins!
Have you checked out the new Twilight Struggle: Red Sea- Conflict in the Horn of Africa? Much shorter version of TS but still manages to pack a punch and it has a solo mode. Some of the cards from both games are backwards compatible as well 😀
I haven’t!! I for sure will though
What a great list! Anachrony, Viticulture, Obsession, Imperial Assault, Mansions of Madness. Dominant Species is still on my radar and I absolutely paused the video to look up London. #fascinatorjeff
London is sooooo gooooddd
Gonna have to rip the bandaid off with anachrony. Reading the rules it doesn’t seem that bad but it’s got me shook. Was a little surprised that wonderlands hadn’t cracked the top 10 then again not sure Jaime has mentioned it yet
It really isn’t as bad as it seems!
Ive all of a sudden wanted to really get into table top game nerdery. Sadly most of the time the instructions are like reading someones thesis. 😢
I get that for sure. As someone who REALLY struggled with rulebooks, it does get easier with practice. And honestly, some are just bad. But I’ve learned that reading a rulebook as well as watching some how to play videos REALLY helps.
Which Unmatched that is coming out are you looking forward to the most?
Ohhh good question! I’m not sure on Jamie’s but mine I think is Shakespeare v. Rosie the Riveter (if it happens).
Jeff out on the safari with this hat
Safari Jeff as he’s known around here
That hat makes me feel like I need to swat some mosquitos.
There’s a net inside it for bugs ;)
Omg. I would LOVE to get LotR: The Confrontation but it is impossible to find at reasonable price..
We were able to find two decently priced copies (both within Canada). Keep looking!
@@FostertheMeeple I am in Canada too! I looked around on the web and can't find a single shop that have one. I've just looked again and can't find any.
@@Exozik I’m not sure!! Patience I suppose?
Did you meet up with Boxed Meeples? Who won is there colab video soon?
Nah just playing asynchronously over the app!
Oh Tilley hat nice
I actually love that hat so much haha
I have that hat lol 😂
It’s a great hat!
Half of the mentioned games would be in my top 20 the other half would not even be in my top 100, what means your taste in games is a lot broader than my taste.
We definitely fall into the omni gamer camp haha
Dwellings of Eldervale has been a grail game for me for quite some time. Definitely on the hunt for that one. Obsession, what a well designed game and a delight to play. It's so clear from the instructions and the glossary shipped with the game that it was clearly a labor of love for the designer. Love that game.
i see this a lot and i was thinking the same until i bought it... i've played it like 3 times and then its sat on the shelf
the mechanics in it just aren't as great as i thought they would be when you actually play it, and then people always tell me that the solo mode saves it
but it's far too easy
the insane amount of plastic in it as well kind of puts me off
I mean, I clearly couldn’t disagree more but certainly respect your opinion on it! I think the gameplay was tight and enjoyable, the asymmetrical factions kept it interesting and multiple choices in victory path, exciting. That’s why it’s on my list!
@@Sem5626 huh...that's an interesting take. Definitely food for thought. If you want to sell your copy, I'm in the market :).
Twilight Struggle is soooo good.
It might be perfect honestly.
Ηello from greece you are the best
Hello from Canada!! Thank you!
Does she drink a liter of cola (sprite) each night? great lists. I really need to try Wonderland's War
She always asks for a large farva
I've never understood why a game's ranking drops because someone hasn't played it in a while. If the design and enjoyment playing the game hasn't changed, the only influencer would be whether more recently found games are better designed and more enjoyable.
Can’t wait to see your list then Jason!
So, where's the tik tok?
Edit: Tap, tap, tap
I can’t find it!!!!! 😭
I was waiting for the link as well
Is it called pop or soda in Canada? Pop is more of a southern demographic of the U.S.
Pop!!
As a northwesterner (US), that’s the correct answer regardless.
Generally speaking, here in the US it's soda in the northeast/New England area and pop in large parts of the midwest and northwest. It's not uncommon to hear "coke" used in the south as a generic term for soda. That's your American English linguistic lesson for the day!
James I appreciate the knowledge. My friends from Texas and Arizona call it soda.
@Ryan Lohman I'm talking about tendencies here, not in universal terms, based on data that has been collected by linguists over the years. In any case, your friends have the right idea! #teamsoda (Hope my initial response wasn't too sharp.)
