I personally enjoy B, but one thing I thing could be interesting is changing the imps/boxes Maybe instead of a toy or an imp how about a box made of the finger red tendrils that pop like the boxes where anything could pop out that just fires spikes/nails at the enemy
I really like the corrosion idea in option B. But in my opinion, I think you should lean more of the reddish demonic corrosion covering his body but add black diamond cracks on his legs resembling his iconic checkerboard pattern and in them is an eye of each soul he's collected - there's a saying that eyes are the windows to the soul and Shaco is a collector. Lastly, though I love the idea of the impish creature I prefer to keep Shaco's boxes but with a twist. Based on the 3 faces of Shaco, the boxes comes in three types - Joy = projectile, classic Shaco, Anger=explosive shrapnel, similar to Jhin's E except quickier and has a bleed effect, Sorrow = poison, similar to Teemo's shroom with the player also getting slowed. Even though these are my ideas, I like the Shaco ideas and want to see more of them everyone's idea of our beloved Demon Jester. I want my Demonic clown to get the recognition it deserves.
You could definitely add more cracks, damage, and plant growth but absolutely keep the corrosion element. It’s so cool and helps connect your Shaco design to the old color scheme.
while yes i do love the designs, i think giving shaco a reason to exist ruins his character. his whole thing is that he is a mystery wrapped in an enigma, a glitch in the matrix, giving him lore destroys his identity. (also i dont think demacia needs a 4th demon)
@@johird9990 Yes, that in a way is a great way of looking at him. But even still, him having no story at all is a bit... bad I guess to me? Like, there is no need for us to know his origin, he simply needs a bigger story that will let us connect to him or will allow for interesting interactions with other characters. Like, simply adding something like "Creatures from the void fear him for unknown reasons" and making the unknown prince an actual character/someone we already know, would be good enough.
@@johird9990 Very much like Joker in a way. If we want to give him lore, we could give multiple vague legends for his origin. Also some details about his existence, like a specific dates he emerges from woods and starts killing
Lore note on Petrycyte: it works as a net/battery for magic, it catches it, but it can be set free, this is how Sylas was able to escape from his execution. He absorb the magic of Lux, and used it to get away.
There also seems to be a limit on how much magic petricite can absorb, but that threshold is REALLY vaguely defined. It did nothing against a Harrowing, for example, but Galeo could absorb a magic blast that covered a battlefield.
@@billiebrown4539 I mean, the walls of Demacia's cities are also made of petricite, right? You'd think that a city wall would contain about as much if not more than a single colossus.
@@GoldLight73 Yes, but Galio is alive. It's possible that fact makes him able to absorb magic more so than inanimate petricite. It seems like he can use that magic to help protect Demaica, so he has a way of getting rid of excess.
@@jasonmiller2379 That's definitely possible and a valid theory, though the fact remains: it IS a theory. The truth is that there are still just a lot of mysteries about petricite that we don't know or understand. Durand was apparently the only one who did, at least well enough to bring the stuff to life in the first place. Even his descendants, who can also make living constructs, don't know how to make something truly sapient like Galio. All of this to say that petricite is weird and we don't know its limits, so whether or not it could actually hold a demon is up in the air.
Even though I preferred the Noxian idea originally, I really like how this design turned out. I definitely prefer version B, with the oxidation, but do also think it needs more debris/rot. One way I thought this could be done, is by having one of the arms being broken off (and maybe be replaced with one of the red tentacles?). I think this would work since the unsymmetrical nature of 3 arms would also plays with the uncanny aesthetic you’re going for
Honestly this turned out way better than even I had thought! And frankly, from what I do know of petrecite, Demacians think it is a magic nullifying stone when in fact it is more of a magic absorbing substance. It sort of holds it in until it is expunged. That’s part of the reason why Sylas is able to abuse his shackles to fight back. That said I can 100% believe that as a magic absorbing stone that it could hold a demon. And I think the darkening bits of stone that almost show petricite corrosion is an amazing detail! Overall I’m down for this new Shaco!
Hey Subjectively! Just wanted to let you know that Petricite chains, like Sylas, were actually made for demons, not people! And given how magic works in Runeterra and that petricite constructs can be brought to life, it's not hard to imagine a lesser demon or azakana being bound to petricite!
Option c could be blooming moss. Moss doesn't normally bloom so having red flowers bloom out of the cracks in his body would be odd and the flowers could be used like the jack-in-the-boxs. Just add vines and overgrowth.
I think the 2nd option works really well! It could be more beat up almost like Fiddlesticks but I think it looks perfectly fine with the cracks and dents you added with the eroded and rusted petrocite
The option B is the best in my mind, just dial up the corrosion to be fully black on the areas you put them here, with it visibly progressing from the edges, also bigger cracks on the chest would help.
Hi ! I wanted to say first of all that the re-design of Shaco is insane, absolute godly work ! I've been planning on a somewhat of a re-voice of Shaco (no disrespect to Adam Harrington's voiceover) and this video really helped a lot with the idea ! I would love to hear more on the lore of this version of shaco and if it's okay, I would love to base voicelines based on your re-design ! EDIT : I just heard the commentary on 13:00 and I would love to be able to audition and help expand the lore with voicework !
I absolutely love the "rust" look where the demon hand cape lies on the shoulder. Really showing the corrupting influence. Also the hand cape in general is an absolutely INSPIRED idea. The way it eludes to the demon (many hands motif), someone pulling the strings like a puppet, a cape for what was supposed to be a good creature (so a hero visual motif). I agree that the "Rust" may technically not fit with the current lore (well, at least we don't know, I think?) but it is such a stunning visual to me, that it works so much better than just the base white and gold. Petricite is stonelike, but comes from Trees, if I am remembering right? Maybe the pattern would be a bit less "airbrushed" (in the render, in the thumbnail it's more metallic) and a little more vein-y? Maybe a bit more black to elude to the old design and make it looks less like ordinary rust, but more like mold and decay? Not sure. Either way, I absolutely LOVE design B. (Also, perhaps the demon's influence could also tarnish some of the gold, to show the unnatural-ness of it, since gold doesn't tarnish. Also showing a corruption of even the purest things? And laastly as other comments mentioned just a bit of plantlife / moss growing would be neat probably) And with the gameplay items, perhaps the boxes could be the little imps, but only from the torso up, almost sprouting from the ground or melted to it while keeping the full imp visual for the clone (as in, what you and your allies see, as the enemies of course still see the actual shaco for the clone ^^)
i love that league universe demons arent based on "sins " but instead on human emotions, not only negative emotions , as there is a demon of Happynes, and a demon of Secrets, but also demons of Fear, of obbsesion, delirium and bliss
@MaxGraphicDesign-m6g evelyn domain is named" Bliss" there are human emotions more than human sins, some more examples of demons we know are happynes, doubt, regret, loneliness, pride, dreams, etc. Even a " positive" emotion as happiness can have a demon
I think that the lore you gave to this version of Shaco can even be incorporated with some elements of the shadow isles lore Ashlesh is the demon that was trapped in Kathkan in the seventh layer, where Nilah originates. Kathkan has historically been at war and in conflict with Camavor, which is Viego’s region. I think there’s still a way to bend the story to fit that aesthetic, or to flip it to the demacian side If you want to keep Shaco rooted in Demacia with Petricite as a focus, perhaps a Kathkani mage from long ago was attempting to find a way to bind Ashlesh to reinforce its prison. The mage discovered this material that could bind magic within it, and decided to experiment with it, carving a harmless doll and entrapping a lesser follower of Ashlesh within. However, the demon was able to overcome its petricite prison and attack the mage, killing them before becoming dormant, trapped in the doll. The doll would later be discovered by a passing merchant and passed on to the young prince, and the parents upon seeing it being carved from Petricite deemed it safe to give to the young boy This is just a rough idea, but it ties in well with the idea of ashlesh’s follower being inside a Petricite doll to help explain why it’s found so far from Kathkan. Nilah and her followers all have vessels presumably containing Ashlesh’s powers, as seen in legends of runeterra, and they were happy to adventure as Nilah is out seeking Joy. I could easily see a follower attempting to break their container holding the demon to see if Petricite would better contain it. Just a rough concept
Idea for the little Imps Shaco can spawn: to keep the jack-in-the-box imagery, maybe instead of legs they have a spring-like tail. When they’re placed they sink into a little pile of pinkish-red goo only to jump out at nearby foes to scare them.
To make it look more beat up, you could make an arm or a leg broken, missing a big chunk in the middle or at the joint, making it only be held up by that red energy. It would hang limp, and/or be twisted around, it could give an impression of not working, only to move in an unnatural manner when needed.
Really cool idea! That being said, my input: since petricite is essentially a wood analog, perhaps looking at different types of wood rot? I love the idea of demonic discoloration in the petricite, especially in the context of him carving clones of himself with his demonic claws.
I think a broken horn of the hat or one of the side noses... Maybe even one of the four arms fully gone and replaced by the red goop would be cool and really land the abandoned look, but the corrosion from design b is a great element
B is really good, but you could def push the wear and tear a lil more. I saw someone mention moss, but I'd also like to see some more of those darker tones in the other areas you placed them. Like, the horn/jester point thingy has those really nice dark values in the very tip, but the toher splotches on his chest and feet dont have them. Maybe the one on his chest could have a darker center, implying a spreading rot better cause without them the splotches just kinda read as dried blood to me. Otherwise, this kinda completely fixed the original problems I had with the demacian version. Still uncanny and a little intimidating, but you could see how in his prime why a kid would latch onto this statue.
I’m so glad that you carried this Demacian concept forward! You both did an amazing job with Shaco here. I never cared for this champion before, now the concept is really compelling.
Absolutely love it, I think the only change I would make is to have the imps have their lower bodies to look like boxes because while "he doesn't need toys to do his bidding" now that he was intended as a toy himself and a companion jack-in-a-box is much more in line with his characterization, and the fear coming from the thing pupping up from a toy I think works thematically, perhaps as a mockery of an actual toy
Watching Claire go from just a dark grey slab, go carving it out with progressively lighter greys was both fascinating and perplexing to me. Shaco now has that valdo energy, which I feel like was the original intention, great work.
B is fantastic with the rust- BUT it looks like dried blood which is EVEN BETTER!!! Imagine the blood showcasing how terrifying he is now, plus we dont know how old rhe blood is and what m incident it was even from?? That kind of evidence of some kind of tragedy would be amazing to build upon!
i wanna see option C as a whole other video exploring more concepts 1. over grown with vines corrupted by by demonic power with knives sticking out of his back 2. cracking with demonic ooze spilling out (like fiddlesticks being a ball of eyes and arms inside the scarecrow, maybe instead of arms it has teeth and eyes like pride from fullmetal alchemist brotherhood) so when it uses its ultimate the clone is just some of the ooze mimicking the puppet 3. a shambling mess missing one of its arms or using random bits of armor to make it a new arm and multiple knives to make a new hand and fingers 4. a 4th side to the head but the face is broken off and its the true face of the demon
Amazing redesign as always! For the next redesign I'd love to see you tackle either Alistar or Kha'Zix. Alistar (and Wukong) is such a weird champion because he's literally just a mythological figure dropped into Runeterra and feels so out of place because of it. Easy fix would be to move him into one of Sett's fighting pits, maybe have him fill a similar role to Jack from Legends of Runeterra. Kha'Zix is another void champion who just doesn't fit the new void aesthetic and would really benefit from the same treatment you gave Cho'gath.
Can we just comment on 20:36 and that tone shift in Jack's voice. The conspiratorial whisper and the pause before "seriously" genuinely sent a shiver down my spine. Well done, friend.
Only thing I can think of is changing his "hat" to have six offshoots, perhaps with jingling bells attached. Also so his head will look symmetrical no matter which face he turns. Would love that - but cool redesign nevertheless
I think 3 lesser demons in the body of Shaco instead of one could work better for this design, with all three fighting for power and being the face in control. there could be animations of the red demon tendrils slapping a face or pulling around at the body, one demon attempting to annoy the other like siblings, maybe even voice lines of the demons arguing or competing on who's stronger could work as well. the whole "speaking as one" concept could still work too, with that old theme of twins/triplets speaking at the same time, leaning more to them (begrudgingly) being seen as one entity. one demon could be the original "Shaco" and the others joining for whatever reasons, the idea of three demons having to be stuck in one body just so they can survive is interesting from a stroytelling prespective.
B looks great but i would love to see his sad and angry faces being more distinct, i thought of cracking the angry face down to show a bit more red energy below the gold mask because not only it adds asymmetry which would make him more uncanny + fit jester vibes it also would show his anger better.
You know, on the lore side, why not have those little imp jesters be the children that Shaco spirited away/took/killed? Like each child further increases power/influence since you said he covets Ashlesh's power/position, and this is his way of doing it.
I like the idea of the imps in place of boxes, I think an easy way to use the same design without implying they can run around would be to have them crouch like little gargoyles. They could still have an idle animation, maybe bobbing side to side like they're dancing to music (or like a springloaded jack-in-the-box). I also agree that some plants would be a good way to add damage to the B design, maybe most of the vines have leaves and are green/healthy, except for a few that touched the blackened areas and have withered?
I think this is my new favorite redesign you guys have done. I love that you kept the 3 heads idea and the voice idea is go good! Shaco is really high on my rework wish list and you guys did not disappoint. Also, I think Option B works best. It looks worn down but not so worn down it's unbelievable that Shaco is still able to move around
I believe what could add more of that broken doll vibe would be the pose, just imagine the same design, but make it move and creep like a corpse, moved by the demon inside, nearly falling apart while moving
I belive that Shaco could be behinds the scenes of all LoL gameplay. Be some sort of the devil/god/evil presence/or whater he/it is. I like the idea of murderous joy cuz it in his nature. Shaco captures sould/bodies or just copies some random (or not so random) creatures from runterra or nearby(our playable characters aka champions) and puts them into his own realm (i belive you guessed how it looks) only to fight, giving them some hope to ends this torture by destroying enemy nexus. He do not let them die nor leave, just enjoying slaugter and sometimes likes to play on scene too. All of this could not affect at all on a story of Runterra but, some people may guees (or not) of what happening to they mirrored copies or something. Its looks prety rouhgh but it easy to implement and it will work with gameplay and could lead to some events or more lore type staff. I really liked old Riot's idea of connection between gameplay and lore, but that versoin was really strange and not really good working for lore itself. But what if Shaco created a phrase "All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players". Also with all trends around miltiverse and other dimension, Shaco could have a acces to them. it will explain why in his own world we have K/DA, Pentakill, True Damage and the last one, battle academy, guardian galaxy and many many many other staff. I think trough brainstorming this concept it will looks prety sweete. also all of other cancepts can lead to new skins and stories behind them. Kinda like - what if shaco was from demacia, shadow iles or demacia. I really like others concepts, just a bit of my own thoughts. Circus will kinda work to. A traveling circus where you can lead a puppet of some well known hero around Runtera, or to be some mifthic creature, or chose monter from spooky stories for childrens. And all of this presented by some creepy VERY funny jester that gives you a chanse to play in this magical game. But you better win, cuz if you dont, nobody will see you again (or some sort, I really donno). Not really pushing this version, it kinda binal looking. What you think about this mess? I hope that for somebody from Riot it will be usefull. Sorry for my badish English(just in case), not checked how correct all of my writing is, but I glad if you managed to read all of this and understand it at leat a bit (still not sure how bad it ts) Rus: я хз насколько это плохо, если вы видите явную ошибку, сообщите)
I really like B, but I think the corrosion should be spread to one or two of the arms. As is, there’s a massive rectangle across the body that looks noticeably less decayed than the rest, which is I think why it doesn’t look quite right.
Option B is fantastic. Just make him drop stone boxes and let the imps pop out, kinda like a mimic? Would fit really nicely. Cause a mimic as his W fits the whole image nicely. I would also add magical wood to his design from whichever region, it would most likely need to be from shadow isles and that would allow for the petricite to become corrupted. I would also suggest going back to my original post on the first video. I believe you will find some great insight as I've played Shaco for for 10+ years now and literally have art of him in my house. lol Love the video!
The design on b is fantastic, the concept of the corroding petricite is brilliant as a means of bringing in that dual color element and really does give more visual representation of the demonic form possessing it. Honestly i think this is phenomenal all the way around and that nursery style rhyme by shaco at the end was magnificent. Amazing work as always to you both.
I definitely love the option B because it has a deeper meaning with corruption. I still would add more damage to it. Like a few chips in the stone or broken off peices of the gold things like the eye. The oxidation is fanastic idea tho maybe little lighter brownish hue.
I like the magic oxidation a lot! I love how it blends Demacia's white and gold with Noxus's red and black (maybe a bit more black in the oxidation though to really emphasize it). I'm just not sold on the lore. Out of the hundred of champions with extensive lore, can't one just be an enigma? The multiple hands and heads is a great idea. Maybe Shaco could be more like Kindred or Fiddlesticks, where every region has different theories about how Shaco came to be. Then the hands and heads could be symbolic of the different lores Shaco is associated with?
9/10 redesign. The only thing I'd change is the connection to Ashlesh, a brand new lesser demon rather than a fragment of a Demon King like Ashlesh would be more fitting, not to mention Ashlesh's colour palette is vibrant blue, not red. You'd be happy to learn however, that saturated petricite becomes black, so that could be incorporated into the design to evoke more of Shaco's old red and black design while still executing on a twisted and worn-down version of Galio's aesthetic.
Until the very end I thought "Wow this is awesome, it's a shame that because of Shaco's very concept (murder puppet with a demon inside) he's still gonna get his lunch money stolen by Fiddl-" but then his final monologue played and I gotta admit it was incredible and actually pretty distinct. It gave me the chills like Fiddlesticks' voice lines but in a different way. If I could describe it somehow, I'd say your new version of Shaco is the creepy and uncanny villain to Fiddle's terrifying and dreadful force of nature.
This is so awesome!!! I think B is great, I don't really have any ideas for improvements. The little monologue at the end is also perfect. Awesome stuff all around!
Then design is insanely cool! My one question is shouldn’t his demonic parts be blue? I like the way that the red makes him easily readable as demonic but isn’t Ashleth associated with blue in Nilah/her Lor followers’ art? Either way I adore the direction you’ve taken him!
I don't think Eve is in the same class of Demon that Fiddle is. While she may be old, having existed in some form before even the Rune Wars; she certainly isn't one of the Ten Lords.
I know it is a little late to throw this out now but I was thinking while watching this video (great work btw) and I realized that Shako could very easily could become a Darkin (Sha'ako) which could be interesting which could also be a replacement for the uncanny personality.
i really like B ,we should ask pinkward nicely to do a few voice overs. As for the i imps what about a chunk of rock(washed out white) with a small red hand like zyra plants that shoots out demon pins. Not a huge fan of the red eye tho tbh, could also ad a belt with daggers and swords that he has collected from his victims which would tie into his clone exploding
This is a really solid design and does a great job hitting the points I and a lot of people were commenting on - excellent work as always. ♥ As for changes to this design, while I do love the 'Galio-aesthetic' element, I think a solution to the issue of Shaco's original particoloured outfit is to go the route of a painted statue. While Demacia follows the real-world motif of pristine white marble statues popularized in the Renaissance, we know for a fact that Greco-Roman statues were, by and large, painted to be as colorful and lifelike as possible. For most, given how accustomed we are to seeing Greek and Roman statues in that pristine, 'classical' white, seeing them painted in gaudy colors is jarring - which is exactly what you might want for a jester. Much of the weathering and damage could be enhanced by having once-crisp colors muddy from neglect, chipped at the edges, worn down by weathering - there's a lot of room to work with and add additional weathering and damage if you're not only treating the surface of the Petricite, but the paintjob too.
I think it would be interesting if it has a 4th fearful face on the back of its head, maybe hinting that it doesn’t like what the demon is forcing it to do
This is amazing. I love the lore you gave him and his design, I do agree there is something missing, though. I love the three faces. that's my favorite part of his design, and the for arms is a nice add it makes sense to be a toy with multiple arms, which helps make it more handy at playing and it would even help it clean up after the kid. But I think maybe adding clothing to him to make him look a little softer and more approachable for children. Like when you reference fnaf, you can make him look cute, but still scary. Idk I'm not the best at character design, but ether way, he came out looking great, and the little saying Shaco says at the end, MAN, I love creepy stuff like that. I'm happy you did that again. That's another thing I liked the other design for, from the last video. Other than that, this was amazing. Keep up the great videos. 👍
I’ll admit Demacia was initially least favorite design but this turned it around for me. I especially like how this turns something vague (Demacia’s fear of magic) and gives it a face -or three- makes Demacia’s paranoia more believable in my opinion. I would love to see this new Shaco interact with other Demacian champions like Galio, Shyvana, Sylas and of course fiddlesticks.
This design easily fixed my issues with the Demacia design. But the best part is the hand cape. It looks so good. If I had to suggest a tweak it would be that the ends of the cape should go up to look more like something above Shaco resting its hands on its shoulders. Not sure if that would mess up the silhouette but I think it would make it more obvious that something else is pulling the strings.
i'm really liking this new design, but i think that you may be giving the petricite part of it a lot of attention. But don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with the petricite, it fits in well with the lore. But when you make it so pale and galio-like it feels as if the jester aspect of the design is being taken away. Maybe you can add some more rust/corruption or a faded coat of paint in top of the petricite
B is great, but maybe break off some of the pointy points, especially with the horns on the head. Erosion does not favour pure points excluding rare exceptions.
Design 2 looks great and the demonic hand are a fantastic idea, but you could have them emerging from the neck or cracks in the body to up the broken factor and make it look like the demons clawing its way out
Love the three face idea, perhaps he could have a kit that revolves around “choosing” a face that emphasises a certain play style and evolves one of his abilities to be slightly enhanced e.g. Q reset on takedowns if choosing the “assassin face”
I LOVE the red hands on the shoulders, and the design overall! I think the rust pattern could be replaced by moss to make him look more deteriorated. As for the next champ redesign, please do Corki! He's in the same seat as Shaco: non-existent lore, decade old model and unclear what he's even supposed to be.
An idea for the boxes/imps would be to make them keep their legs but lie on the ground like someone with crippled or broken legs, reaching out while screaming at the triggering enemy, fearing them in the process. This would keep your design choice while reflecting the decay and demonic presence inside Shaco. And when the imps/boxes end they could roll over laughing and disappear with a cackle
Love how this turned out and definitely agree option B is great and could maybe just add even more corrosion and crack, especially wherever the red hands and corrupted red parts are touching the sculpture. I did really love the floating hand imagery of the puppeteer from the shadow islands concept so that showing up maybe every time shaco uses an ability or switches faces would be awesome too Also maybe the boxes could not have legs but the corrupted vines as lower body that could leave them rooted into the ground to keep them stationary
Really like the Idea of the "magical oxidation" with B to mimic his old colours if ya wanted you could possibly play with the visuals of dark mosses and Lichenous growths across the body to reintroduce some darkness into his pallet after all petricite is basically a type of somewhat woody cement so looking to the way lichen effects stone may be good, typically lichen what gives otherwise average stones their ancient almost blackish green colouration it also makes it very easy to tell when more recent activity has happened cause damage will appear brighter as damage quite literally peels those layers of algae or bacteria away so it could also be used to emphasize the damage done to shacos body depending on how recent the damage is. I wouldnt say cover his whole body in it keep some of the white of the petricite to keep some of his old pallet but I would suggest possibly trying it in tandem with the magical oxidation.
I really like the design for Shaco, I think design B is a really good idea, but maybe some moss or leaves growing on him would help make the design look older, also for the hands of the demon possessing him, the red claws look more similar to a lesser demon of fiddlesticks, perhaps a shade of blue might fit shaco better both to tie him to ashlesh more and blue is a colour that demaica uses a lot as well.
I love option B ! I'm not an artist so take this with a grain of salt, but i think putting some of the corrosion on one of two of the arms would make it a bit better since the arms are used to kill and they probably channel a bit more of its power. It also makes it easier to see when the character moves around on the rift. The issue of the clone has to be adressed since its looks harder to distinguish than the bright green the character currently has, maybe a version completely red made by the demon's power like the tiny imps? As always great video and i look forward to the next one!
maybe giving him only three working arms/breaking off an arm would make the design easier to read as withered/broken. it would also make the silhouette more unique and interesting the more asymmetrical it is. asymmetry conveys uneasiness in a design and a design like this can benefit from asymmetrical features :)
I think an interesting way for the clone mechanic to work is to have a massive crack along the small of his back or on his chest for the demonic energy to leak out and morph into a vague shape of himself.
Going back to the fnaf comparison, if you do end up going back to make Shaco look more decayed i think some of the animatronics would be a great place to take inspiration, especially from fnaf 2 with the broken original 4 and with Mangle, their bodies pulled apart and contorted and their inner mechanisms showing, body parts falling off or shifting to the wrong place, really embody the horror of something looking so dead and souless suddenly starting to move and is specifically after you
Definitely option B is solid as everyone else is saying maybe adding more moss+lichen and taking the corsoion full black on the tips... overall very happy with the design
Are the four arms required? Maybe having one with part of the limb left might help to sell the idea of his bad state. Plus, there could be a theme with the number three.
I really like the three voices idea. Though, what I was imagining was that the voices might react to each. When the happy face laughs, the sad one gives soft laughter and angry one groans in annoyance. When the sad face cries, the happy and angry ones laugh and groan in pity. When the angry face screams, the sad one cries and the happy one chuckles nervously. Now that I think about it, what if it was 3 lesser demons in a single body, like Legion from the Bible. This could be meant for teachers for the young prince; the demon of joy is for fun, the demon of sadness is for empathy, and the demon of anger is for punishment. This could be the reason Shaco failed, each of the demons appearing in inappropriate times. I don’t play LoL, I just really like your content, so I don’t know if this can work with the canon of the games.
I think it would be cool, but it would have to be the same voice actor emulating different voices, so as not to have three voices at the same time and show that it is a fragmented personality.
If you go with option C , I think it would be cool if the demon inside the pupet bends and breaks the pupet to some thing more suited for violonce and killining . Like breaking its' parts and using those as weapons or making its' limbs longer and using other broken parts for more limbs
I really like that you made the demacian design look less like a golem and more like a jester. I think B is good, maybe try some red cracks or something else to show the wear and tear on shaco. Great work, as always
I really enjoy the final product, you both did an amazing job with Shaco. Like you mention I do feel like there's one small piece that might be missing. I tried taking a look around the LoL wiki on Petricite 3 things that stood out to me from my search The first is the visuals found at the bottom of 'Durands ancient manuscript' show some kind of demonic bird-like face. I am unsure what that's referencing specifically whether its generic demon or perhaps a Darkin. A Darkin infesting a petricite golem? Second is Petricite elixir, there might be room for an alchemical looking component somewhere in the body? The third is the mageseekers themselves. They wear masquerade inspired half-masks and they specifically target childen. Shaco could be a golem designed to help lure out magically gifted children so that the mageseekers could capture them. The jack in the boxes are tools used to bait mage children somehow. Before the golem goes mad or gets possessed. But its original purpose of seeking out children is there as a link
In my opinion, this version of Shaco looks phenomenal! I really like how it retains and even enhances the aspects of a "demon jester" much better compared to his current league design. But i'd like to voice out some two thoughts about this design! *Corrupted petricite.* So far as someone who watches Necrit, i haven't seen any information that could point out the side effects of demonic energy on petricite constructs. So i think it was a good and creative choice to give Shaco's body some visible signs of demonic corruption, not only due to how it could potentially fit the canon lore (since like i said, we don't know if those two aspects mix together in canon, so we are free to theorize), but also because the red-dark colours reference Shaco's old design extremely well! So i'd say, it would be better if there were a little bit more of those corruption patterns on his body. *Cape.* Now, the cape is something that i also take as favorite because of how cool and fantastic it looks on Shaco! Although i'm not sure if i like how the rest of the cape is "floating" like a pair of tentacles to be honest. Perhaps it would look better if the cape was freely dangling behind him, similarly to Aatrox's wings in game? Unless, it would be a bad choice to implement another character's trait on Shaco. In that case, i would've removed the cape but kept the demonic hands. Additionally, i think it would've been fitting for this Shaco to keep his spiky/pointy pauldrons on, which could be actually part of the demon itself rather than of that petricite doll! Lastly regarding his back, perhaps the two hands are connected to arms that bend and sprout out of a hole on his back! Maybe it could also have a grinning mouth that endlessly clamps and grits on its teeth. I would've thought there to be an eye, but then i recalled how Fiddlesticks has those eyes in his "rib-cage", while Raum greately uses the eye theme. So maybe a change of features could be done here! With a huge hole on his back, make it so the vertical smile faintly reminds of the demon's spine!
Design B is best, though in my opinion maybe make the rust cover more of his left leg, maybe make the teeth look more jagged like the lesser demon tried to force open the mouth, and maybe even make it look like some of the tips of the pointy features broke of like one of the jester ears or one of his pointy shoes, I think any one of these would make it perfect
Option B is great with maybe some small additions like cracks, moss, or holes. I love the 3 voices overlapping for his voice with the different emotions alternating in how pronounced they are. I can hear it in my mind and it feels so scary!
Three face is a brilliant idea ! The skillsets somehow connects to shaco’s faces, and the ultimate ability is somehow him dropping his mask would be ultimately cool

I personally enjoy B, but one thing I thing could be interesting is changing the imps/boxes
Maybe instead of a toy or an imp how about a box made of the finger red tendrils that pop like the boxes where anything could pop out that just fires spikes/nails at the enemy
I love the art character of the jester so much can you please draw a samurai ninja please
B is almost there, but one of the "horns" should definitiely be slightly chipped
For sure- I don’t know why we omitted any plant life, that would’ve helped so much!
This, all the way!
Yeah, the gold is still too shiny, like he was left out for a few months not YEARS. Lets f*** up Shaco some more!
That, and i definitely think there should be more of that red rusty petricite to make the accidentaly motley jester pattern stand out a bit more.
I think B design is great, but a bit of moss/some other plants growing in random spots would make it perfect
while yes i do love the designs, i think giving shaco a reason to exist ruins his character. his whole thing is that he is a mystery wrapped in an enigma, a glitch in the matrix, giving him lore destroys his identity. (also i dont think demacia needs a 4th demon)
You could add vines to vaguely mimic the checker pattern from the original model
@@damiana.9544 thats, actually a realy good idea
@@GoldLight73Galileo is also giant, so maybe that plays a factor.
And laastly as other comments mentioned just a bit of plantlife / moss growing would be neat probably)
And with the gameplay items, perhaps the boxes could be the little imps, but only from the torso up, almost sprouting from the ground or melted to it while keeping the full imp visual for the clone (as in, what you and your allies see, as the enemies of course still see the actual shaco for the clone ^^)
Also my goodness the details and cracks showing the red glow on the Splash are FANTASTIC
i love that league universe demons arent based on "sins " but instead on human emotions, not only negative emotions , as there is a demon of Happynes, and a demon of Secrets, but also demons of Fear, of obbsesion, delirium and bliss
Isnt tahm the demon of gluttony and evelyn one of lust?
@MaxGraphicDesign-m6g evelyn domain is named" Bliss" there are human emotions more than human sins, some more examples of demons we know are happynes, doubt, regret, loneliness, pride, dreams, etc. Even a " positive" emotion as happiness can have a demon
Maybe in game instead of causing his victim to run away in fear, he could make them laugh so hard that they lose control of their movement 🤔
Like functionally a fear or stun , but it makes them do the laugh emote .
So a mix of exhaust and brittle debuffs?
This is such a cool move!
@@kennethfajardo9102 ngl we need another champ with a brittle debuff
Tasha's Hideous Laughter!
I think that the lore you gave to this version of Shaco can even be incorporated with some elements of the shadow isles lore
Ashlesh is the demon that was trapped in Kathkan in the seventh layer, where Nilah originates. Kathkan has historically been at war and in conflict with Camavor, which is Viego’s region. I think there’s still a way to bend the story to fit that aesthetic, or to flip it to the demacian side
If you want to keep Shaco rooted in Demacia with Petricite as a focus, perhaps a Kathkani mage from long ago was attempting to find a way to bind Ashlesh to reinforce its prison. The mage discovered this material that could bind magic within it, and decided to experiment with it, carving a harmless doll and entrapping a lesser follower of Ashlesh within. However, the demon was able to overcome its petricite prison and attack the mage, killing them before becoming dormant, trapped in the doll. The doll would later be discovered by a passing merchant and passed on to the young prince, and the parents upon seeing it being carved from Petricite deemed it safe to give to the young boy
This is just a rough idea, but it ties in well with the idea of ashlesh’s follower being inside a Petricite doll to help explain why it’s found so far from Kathkan.
That kind of evidence of some kind of tragedy would be amazing to build upon!
i wanna see option C as a whole other video exploring more concepts
1. over grown with vines corrupted by by demonic power with knives sticking out of his back
2. cracking with demonic ooze spilling out (like fiddlesticks being a ball of eyes and arms inside the scarecrow, maybe instead of arms it has teeth and eyes like pride from fullmetal alchemist brotherhood) so when it uses its ultimate the clone is just some of the ooze mimicking the puppet
3. a shambling mess missing one of its arms or using random bits of armor to make it a new arm and multiple knives to make a new hand and fingers
4. a 4th side to the head but the face is broken off and its the true face of the demon
A fourth face would be cool. Maybe it could be used in Shaco’s ult somehow?
@@writingman1089the ult being the true face of Shaco escaped the perticite temporarily
maybe when he ults one of the masks is broken off his face and becomes the face of the clone@@writingman1089
"A few weeks ago" well that aged... more xD
That third redesign could be attached to his clone. When he ults, he transforms into a more demonic form and spawns a copy of himself
Sorry for my badish English(just in case), not checked how correct all of my writing is, but I glad if you managed to read all of this and understand it at leat a bit (still not sure how bad it ts)
Rus: я хз насколько это плохо, если вы видите явную ошибку, сообщите)
I'm so in love with your concept
Oh hell yeah, that final piece would make me not feel bad playing the freaky clown thing XD
B design is awesome!
As for changes to this design, while I do love the 'Galio-aesthetic' element, I think a solution to the issue of Shaco's original particoloured outfit is to go the route of a painted statue.
I think it would be cool to incorporate some piece of the prince, shako still “protecting” him
ONCE AGAIN SUBJECTIVELY MAKEA A F TIER LOL CHARACTER GENUINELY INTERESTING
I’ll admit Demacia was initially least favorite design but this turned it around for me. I especially like how this turns something vague (Demacia’s fear of magic) and gives it a face -or three- makes Demacia’s paranoia more believable in my opinion.
I would love to see this new Shaco interact with other Demacian champions like Galio, Shyvana, Sylas and of course fiddlesticks.
22:14 BIOSHOCK MUSIC!!!!! ❤❤❤
I like the idea of C, but maybe down the line, B is good for now
breaks my heart that shadow isles version didnt win 💔💔
BUT THIS LOOKS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!! (shcaco mai)n)
Option B, but with more moss.
B is great, but maybe break off some of the pointy points, especially with the horns on the head. Erosion does not favour pure points excluding rare exceptions.
Design 2 looks great and the demonic hand are a fantastic idea, but you could have them emerging from the neck or cracks in the body to up the broken factor and make it look like the demons clawing its way out
I dunno, I feel like keeping the jack in the box works well for a character who spent a lot of time in your lore with a child.
Love the three face idea, perhaps he could have a kit that revolves around “choosing” a face that emphasises a certain play style and evolves one of his abilities to be slightly enhanced e.g. Q reset on takedowns if choosing the “assassin face”
can you redesign tryndamere?
i love his iconic ult and concept
Honestly, I think option B is perfect and the splash art looks stunning! 10/10 would love the champion theme :D
B
I did really love the floating hand imagery of the puppeteer from the shadow islands concept so that showing up maybe every time shaco uses an ability or switches faces would be awesome too
Also maybe the boxes could not have legs but the corrupted vines as lower body that could leave them rooted into the ground to keep them stationary
The corrosion is a cool idea, but if it’s supposed to be corrosion it looks more like blood.
I love this.
This Is what shako should look like....but this Is so good It looks too much like a skin i would buy lol
Really like the Idea of the "magical oxidation" with B to mimic his old colours if ya wanted you could possibly play with the visuals of dark mosses and Lichenous growths across the body to reintroduce some darkness into his pallet
after all petricite is basically a type of somewhat woody cement so looking to the way lichen effects stone may be good, typically lichen what gives otherwise average stones their ancient almost blackish green colouration it also makes it very easy to tell when more recent activity has happened cause damage will appear brighter as damage quite literally peels those layers of algae or bacteria away so it could also be used to emphasize the damage done to shacos body depending on how recent the damage is. I wouldnt say cover his whole body in it keep some of the white of the petricite to keep some of his old pallet but I would suggest possibly trying it in tandem with the magical oxidation.
ALSO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH THAT END QUOTE IS SO GOOD!!!!!
I would lean towards option c and break him down more/introduce more asymmetry to enforce how chaotic he is.
I think an interesting way for the clone mechanic to work is to have a massive crack along the small of his back or on his chest for the demonic energy to leak out and morph into a vague shape of himself.
talk about enigmorphs plssssssssssssssssss
C make C
Are the four arms required? Maybe having one with part of the limb left might help to sell the idea of his bad state.
Plus, there could be a theme with the number three.
For the damage, i would break off one of his "horns". It would add to asymmetry as well
I really like the three voices idea.
That sounds so cool. Definitely don’t know if that’s possible in the lore but I think it’d be worth it.
I love this idea! It's so interesting.
Like breaking its' parts and using those as weapons or making its' limbs longer and using other broken parts for more limbs
if you need a voice actor i'd be willing to help, i'm not a perfesional, but i'm a voice actor in training persay.
I tried taking a look around the LoL wiki on Petricite
3 things that stood out to me from my search
The first is the visuals found at the bottom of 'Durands ancient manuscript' show some kind of demonic bird-like face.
Demacia Shaco's face would be awesome rotating between the comedy, tragedy, and rage masks from theater!
Claire really genuinly gets so much better every time she does one of these like it's astonishing
Three face is a brilliant idea ! The skillsets somehow connects to shaco’s faces, and the ultimate ability is somehow him dropping his mask would be ultimately cool
